RE: Trailer Tire Speeding Rating??

I would replace with LTs because they are stronger the weight is rated at 99 mph not 65 mph. ST tires are so misleading. Cheap and a road hazard for everyone. I had blowouts on new STs from trailer factories made it less than 40 miles. It is even stamped on the side of the tire do not use on passenger vehicles. I take this as meaning DO NOT trust your life on this tire.

RE: Flying J and Pilot moving toward B20 diesel?

I think this is more state regulations than fuel station choice. Personally, traveling across the country I have encountered regen problems from buying fuel in western states. I think it is not only the high amount of bio but what the bio is made from.

RE: Towing in slick conditions

I disagree with a lot of this. Mainly I have saved myself from jacknife a few times touching the brake pedal in a skid with a camper. The trailer brakes pulled the truck back online. Biggest problem faced on ice is when the rear drive wheels wanna slide towards the ditch on a crowned road. Automatic transmissions when pulling and ice the drive wheels will spin faster even if you just let off the throttle. I believe Weight distribution on slick roads are trouble. They take weight off the drive wheels. I want those wheels to stay stuck to the ground. The more weight the better.

RE: Why Tesla's are bad at towing!

Guys I got this, we just need to stick a pole to the power line like in Back to the future. We never gonna run outta energy then.

RE: Tesla is now accepting reservations for semis

I guess if you floor it from a stop and send everything loaded out the back it's even faster.

RE: best 5th wheel hitch for std. bed 2500HD Chevy

With a 6’6” bed a slider is a waste of money.

RE: Elon tease -- Tesla pick will look like military vehicle

I just sceptical how long batteries will last in an actual work vehicle.

RE: New Tires - too many options

Think you'll make it to 200k?

RE: New Tires - too many options

Just about every tire I ran lasted over 100k... must be the driver. A lot of other factors. Speed, inflation, road surface, temperature, weight, rolling resistance, tread design.

RE: Lowering TV tire pressures

What I have read on every tire manufacturers site is the number one cause of blow outs is UNDER inflation.

RE: Lowering TV tire pressures

What do the tire manufacturers say is the leading cause of blowouts?

RE: Lowering TV tire pressures

I have ran a set at 90 psi all around just to see if I could get tires to round. Not all tires equal in radial belt strength. Those tires lasted over 180,000 miles. I do not own a Ford or no issues with rough ride

RE: Lowering TV tire pressures

And I get many more miles outta tires because I drive more.

RE: Lowering TV tire pressures

I run 80 psi all tires all the time. The reason being it's easier and more time to spot a tire going flat. I have driven many miles. Lower starting pressures builds more heat. It actually inflates the tire the longer driving. Too much heat causes blowouts.

Check Wyoming DOT site. I say it's pretty helpful for traveling. Ability to search for warnings/advisorys by route.

RE: 5th Wheel Rails in Truck Bed

Those carriage bolts are a PITA to remove. What I would do is buy a rubber truck mat and just cut it out around the rails. If you ever have to haul something heavy, those rails are a much stronger tie down point than what the truck manufacturer provides.

RE: Anyone haul camper with Ram SRW 3500 2wd factory air bag ?

I would think the air ride would make handling in the wind a nightmare.
