RE: Gasser guys and gals ...why not a diesel ?

Cost - Roughly $100k more. Fuel more expensive. Maintenance more expensive. My gasser with liquid springs rides quite nicely.

RE: New motor home blues…

The saga continues. After another week in Orlando and a few days after what I thought was a successful repair to the hydraulic line for the leveling jacks we proceeded to go 2 hours south to Stuart, FL to see my folks. Pulled in to our site, leveled the rig and went out the door to meet the neighbors who promptly said “You have something leaking under your rig. Sure enough there’s a puddle of hydraulic fluid with a line hanging down up against the catalytic converter. I’m assuming the genius that put the new hydraulic line on chose not to secure it and it dropped down and rode for two hours next to the catalytic converter melting a hole in it. I have now scheduled a mobile tech from La Mesa in Port St Lucie to come out Thursday AM to evaluate. I extended my stay here thankfully they were able to) and canceled my week in Sarasota probably losing my $470 I paid there. You gotta laugh to keep from crying but this is getting more absurd by the day.

Yes the service tech told me they use oil. Something else they failed to mention at orientation.

First oil change was supposed to be at 50 hours.

RE: New motor home blues…

Took the MH to La Mesa today and yep, it was a split hydraulic hose. They have a guy coming to make one up and I take it back Wednesday to have it installed. Generator was not working also all of a sudden. Come to find out it was low on oil. Would have never thought with 104 hours on it. So a generator service with oil change and filter cost $121.00

I will have to say that during the last two weeks when the control unit is on we get random lights lit (mostly right and rear) although the screen says all jacks up. We have also experienced, while stationary and leveled, intermittent sounds from what I assumed were the jacks experiencing some creep like a minor loss of pressure. Sometimes front, sometimes rear. Not sure if this is normal or a precursor to what occurred.

Yes. Levelers worked fine up to this point. Can’t get any service here in the Columbia, SC area either than Camping World but they are 7-10 out to just look at it. So, we are headed back to Florida to take it to the dealership on Monday morning.

New motor home blues…

Yet another issue reared its ugly head today on our 2022 Allegro Open Road. Arrived at the in laws and started the Lippert leveling jack system. Rear jacks grounded and when the front ones engaged I heard a load hiss and a puff of smoke emanated from the front end. I jumped out to find hydraulic fluid dripping from underneath the coach. It was getting dark so I will investigate in the morning but it seems a hydraulic line failed. Of course it’s a weekend so I’m likely screwed until Monday. Sigh…..

RE: Cable TV vs. Antenna

I have switch that says Antenna or Wifi. It’s on Antenna now. I’ll switch to Wifi and rescan. Thanks.

Cable TV vs. Antenna

We are in our 3rd week full timing in our 2022 Allegro Open Road. We had to relocate from the FL Keys back to the Orlando area to have some repairs done by the La Mesa Mobile Tech. He replaced our LP regulator so we now have hot water. Fixed our drivers side wiper so we can now drive in the rain. Sealed the leaks in the awning mount and furnace panel so hopefully no more water in the living room. He also made some minor adjustments to some **** eyed cabinet drawers and cleaned some gob of glue off the shower wall. Now to my question. We have an antenna to pick up stations. We also have connected the coax cable to the park cable. When we run the channel search it finds plenty of channels but we only get the antenna channels on the tv channel guide. Do we have to switch inputs to get cable? The only thing that shows on our inputs is Live TV, Dish ( did not get a satellite dish) and the DVD player. What am I missing? I think we will invest in the Pepwave duo for internet because the wifi in some the parks don’t seem to be able to handle streaming Hulu, etc.

RE: Camping in sub freezing weather

Give up snow skiing and take up water skiing. Problem solved.

RE: Maiden Voyage Blues

The regulator needs to be replaced. Coming out on Monday. Perhaps that was the issue when I opened the valve I didn’t do it slowly. Had no idea.

RE: Awning leak

Yes. The La Mesa tech came out today and spoke with Tiffin. The approved him to put sealant along the rail to prevent leakage. Tiffin told him that they don’t do that because the awning may need to be replaced at some point. He also sealed the furnace access door. There was moisture in that area and he has seen that area leak before. He also adjusted a drawer that was really mounted crooked and fixed our windshield wiper. The gas problem appears to be a faulty regulator that needs to be replaced. He was going to check their existing stock before ordering one.

Jolly Roger RV Park

Just wanted to say hats off to the management of Jolly Roger RV Park on Grassy Key near Marathon, FL. We had booked a 7 night stay and with all our new RV issues had to leave on Wednesday to get back to the Orlando area and within range of the mobile tech service from La Mesa. The manager was very understanding and didn’t blink an eye refunding the 3 nights we weren’t going to use. Jolly Roger is an older park with grass sites and paver patios. We had a 70’ pull through site with a peek-a-boo view of the ocean. They have a nice thatched roof picnic area by the ocean, man made beach with nice chairs and thatched covers, marina and a swimming area. Not much around but you are an hour from Key West. Would recommend if you want a quiet place away from the tourists.

RE: Awning leak

We have the Girard awning and it is side mounted not roof mounted. The rain was running behind the rail and down the side of the coach. The front storage bay was leaking from an area where there are electrical lines running through the top of the bay. The living room leak may have emanated elsewhere but it is right in line with the furnace and rear refrigerator access.

Awning leak

Would I be correct in assuming you are NOT supposed to get rain water leaking between the awning and the coach? Just had a pretty torrential downpour of rain and half the awning was leaking water. There was water coming in to the basement storage section closest to the entry door and water coming in around the outside furnace panel which seeped under the hvac distribution box under the fridge then on to the living room floor. Looks like the maiden voyage blues continue.
