RE: Towing a 42 footer… What do you think?

Length isn’t really the greatest factor because it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s heavier? The 42’ River Ranch isn’t as heavy as some 38 footers because of its use of composites and some other weight saving materials. And I don’t know about downsizing? If you downsize and end up with something that really doesn’t work. Then what good is the downsize off all it does is get you into a couple other state parks? Totally agree! We went from a 26'TT to a 28'TT Toyhauler, to a 35'TT Toyhauler, and now have a 42' 5er. We moved from trailer to trailer to accommodate our needs. I can imagine going smaller now. BTW, this is our retirement home away from home. Love the space.

RE: Favorite Brand of 5th Wheel Toyhauler.

We traded from a Keystone Raptor 3110TT a couple years ago to our Grand Design Momentum 394. We have been wowed by all the features, layout, and quality since we purchased it new in 2019. This is our fourth and likely last we have everything we ever wanted and more with this. From experience related to all of our trailers, all I can say is that it helps to be able to do your own maintenance and repairs. All of our trailers have had one issue or another when we owned them. We've experienced a couple minor issues with our Momentum where some interior trim fell off. It shouldn't have happened, but it was a super minor and easy fix. Of course, I made it so it will never come off again. I'm sure there will be other things that happen during the years ahead, I'm prepared to fix anything as long it's not structural and it will be better than factor when I do. I have no problem recommending Grand Design Momentums to anyone. We love ours!!

RE: Avoid Silverton Colorado

One down. Have you been to Sedona? The worst thing about Sedona is those side-by-sides! They suckk. Noisy, and totally trash the dirt roads. They are rented by vacationers that shoulda gone and rode the roller coaster. They treat this nice peaceful wonder like a race track and think they are not annoying. Did I mention that the dirt roads are destroyed all the time because of these side by sides? Worst thing ever! That’s definitely a minority opinion here in the Toy Hauler Forum. Totally agree that it's a minority opinion here. However, I'm very disappointed in a few folks who ruin it for everyone. It is certainly a small fraction of the owners who behave like idiots and tear things up. I'm also disappointed in the folks who think sXs's are the worst thing ever. Again, I don't see what some of these folks see in how badly things are tore up...and I ride many places and thousands of miles per year. I personally think there's a jealous factor involved in many of these statements. I sure wished that law enforcement would do a better job managing the rowdy and noisy crowd. Lots of screaming, but very few tickets or citations. BTW, there are many merchants in Silverton who are not happy about this ban. Given the mayor is from New York speaks volumes all by itself. -Brad
