RE: COE

Lake Seminole, Lake Hartwell, Allatoona Lake and Carter’s Lake all in Georgia have COE CGs. Some of the lakes have more than one.

A/C ducts

Can access to the a/c ducts be gained by removing the shroud on the roof? I have four a/c vents and two have good air circulation in the rear of the trailer and two are not blowing any air at all in the front of the trailer. The vents at the a/c unit are closed. Checked for any obstruction and leak from within the trailer. Not sure how to access the ducts at the a/c unit itself. Thanks for the help. By the way, TT is a 2014 Kodiak.

RE: Pigeon forge

Some friends of mine have a motor home and stayed there while they were looking for a cabin in the area. They said it was a great place and convenient to everything Pigeon Forge had to offer, along with a trolley stop right in the CG.

RE: Mattress Recommendations

We put a topper on our standard mattress but it didn’t do the trick. Bought an 8” Zinus through Amazon. Greatest addition to our TT we ever made. Just be sure to take the mattress still in the box into your TT and then open it on your bed or you’ll play heck trying to get it into your TT bedroom.

RE: 100 days till snowbirding........ maybe not

The feels like temp in my area of Fl has been in the triple digits for weeks, mid 90s for the high yet Florida has been seeing higher numbers of COVID-19. If I were a snowbird the wise thing for me would to be stay home, why take a chance. Is spending one winter in my home state instead of Florida worth my life? Most snowbirds that I know are in the high risk zone because of age and health issues. Just not worth it to me.

RE: Do most parks check/copy your ID? (Victims of ID theft)

Never been asked for ID. Use online website to make reservations and pay with a credit card. Never had a problem in 20 or so years.

SWFL to Hiawassee Ga pulling a 30 ft TT

Does anyone have a good route from Fl to Hiawasse Ga? I’ll be heading north on I75 and am looking for a good route maybe from the state line in Georgia or even before. Thanks for the help.

RE: Are campgrounds more crowded or is it just me?

After weeks of trying to get a reservation at a state park in the Keys for next May, I finally got into Curry Hammock. Fortunately, we are flexible with our dates. It’s aggravating to see 8 spots open at a state park and at 8 am when you can reserve, all 8 are taken by 8:01 am.

Trailer Life Magazine

Anyone else get their June copy of Trailer Life? When I got it out of the mailbox it seemed rather thin. I still had my May issue and I compared the two. June was definitely thinner. I would think since most of us can’t go camping, the powers to be would have more articles for us to read and pass the time. Oh well, whatever the reason guess this will be a one day reader. Stay safe all.

RE: Florida State Parks reservation question

I have a reservation beginning 5/28 for three nights. Taking a wait and see approach, I had 3 other reservations cancelled.

RE: now it's SC's turn to close state parks

I just got an email from the Georgia DNR today, welcoming everyone to enjoy their SPs and that includes camping, yurts and cabins.

RE: Census Question

One of the questions is whether you live in this residence for 12 months. In my case the answer was yes so I have no idea where the question goes from there

RE: Thoughts on the 'need' factor of a main line surge protector

I for one like the piece of mind that my rig is protected. I have had one incident where lightening struck near by and it fried my power cord right to the surge protector. Nothing was damaged in the TT but I did need to replace my 30 amp power cord and the protector.

Hiawassee Ga via 441

Looking at heading to Hiawassee Ga in August. Be driving north on I 75 and was thinking about heading over to 441 from Macon. Anyone have any pros or cons with the route, I’ll be towing a 30ft TT.

RE: Alone or in a group?

My DW and I generally camp alone. We enjoy cooking out and having a happy hour but we have camped with her brother and his wife but they camp way different than we do. They don’t cookout and very often only bring a few meals that they’ve made at home. Most of the time they go to restaraunts. I can do that at home, not my idea of camping. We like being on our own schedule to do things and Im a wanna get there kind of guy. No pleasure stops along the way but to each his own.

RE: Is Socializing a Dying Thing in the RV Community?

DW and I have a TT. When we camp, we are always outside reading or playing games. I enjoy waving to people as they pass by and even talking to the ones that stop. We have the mind set that if we wanted to stay in the TT why have it, we can stay in at home. I have noticed over the years that there are more people who just want to be left alone to do their own thing, but it is nice to meet people from other parts of the country and hear their camping stories. I even got a few new places to go talking with one fella.
