RE: Pet Peeves long road trip

Law of the road....whoever has the biggest, baddest vehicle has the right-of-way. RV's win, except against semi's. This. Go with traffic flow if you can. I dont care what the posted limit is (in either direction), if you arent with the flow YOURE a problem. But yeah, merging apparently requires more intelligence and judgement than most drivers have.

RE: Travel trailer warranties

There is no secret The RV industry is shady and unscrupulous. It will not change unitl gov't enacts more regulation or foreign competition comes along. Unfortunately your finding out the hard way. Sooner or later we all find out! Yep. Folks, always remember that your warranty, extra years or not, is only as good as the company that is standing behind it. I wish i rem who posted here that instead of buying an extended warranty from the factory to just send him half the money and he'd gladly answer your call when you needed him and tell you how that particularly problem wasnt covered under warranty.

RE: Roadtrippers.com

Always fun to find out something you are interested in if Free! But be sure to read those app permissions before deciding if its worth it. (and that goes for ANY app) Whats that old saying....'if you cant find where the money is coming from, theyre selling your information and/or pushing ads'.

RE: Lacrosse quality?

I dont know your specs, but a quick internet search says the top towing Excursion is 11k#. If your trailer of choice is 11k# before adding all your gear, I'd recommend upgrading your tow vehicle. I'm not saying people dont tow over their limts every day, just that......its inadvisable.

RE: RV park close to Farragut, TN

Escapees has a decent park on the Knox/Anderson County line. No frills, but it is a well run park.

RE: Towing a 4500lb TT with an SUV

In my years of towing TTs and with discussions in CGs with others, a decent rule of thumb is that you will get about half your normal gas mileage when towing a TT.

RE: Least stressful route from Hiawassee, GA to Pikeville, TN?

Sorry, cant help on the route as we approach from a different direction, but Mountain Glen is one of our favorite CGs. Very laid back, great location.

RE: Life of a trailer slide out?

A slide is pretty much as good as the rest of the trailer. Use and maintain it properly to push the odds in your favor. Dont sweat it. Enjoy your trip! imo, you will find yourself staying more than a few days in some places you discover that you love.

RE: Myrtle beach - Lakewood alcohol rule?

iirc, Lakewood is family owned and models itself as a Christian cg so they set the rules accordingly. kinda like ChickfilA.

RE: Backing that trailer into a tight campsite..

Agree with all those saying take it slow. Get out and look at everything often. There isnt a time limit so dont stress over it. And get a backup/rearview camera or 2. Also, many CGs have someone who will park your rig for you if you ask.

RE: Fighting zoning ordinances that hurt RV owners

No disrespect intended but, don't buy a house there. Were the zoning laws in place before you bought ? This. Good Luck.

RE: Traveling partner

Ask a friend. If you dont have a friend that meets the criteria, get some new hobbies and make some more friends until you have one that qualifies.

RE: Apple's cooperation with Chinese officials

mike, i love your retorts. keep em coming. i also am puzzled why this remaining is in the tech section. if you do business in China, you play by ChineAse rules. and thats true for any place. spend your money with those you are comfortable with and let others do the same. in America we are still (barely/mostly) allowed that privilege.

RE: I-40 from Asheville in route to Elkmont/GSMNP, road advice..

Bypass. Avoid Gatlinburg like the plague. I cannot imagine the horrible feelings you will generate creeping thru traffic with a 30' TT in the 'fast' lane.

RE: Experience replacing RV fridge drain hose?

You only have to replace it once. Just use heavier quality tubing.
