RE: Best market for RV components for sale?

Sold my entire stock of trailer parts on Craigslist to the first caller. He liked the idea that it was already assembled. Yeah, give Craigslist a try.

RE: Memory leak with Firefox?

I have been a faithful Firefox user for many years, mainly because of the add-ons. I finally threw the towel in a few weeks ago and switched to Edge. I could no longer take the constant freezes and lockups caused by Firefox. Wow, interesting. I've run FF for years but without addons and have never experienced a lockup. fwiw, i usually have 10-12 tabs open at a time.

RE: Memory leak with Firefox?

Gdetrailer is dead on re security. Anything microsoft will report your every move back to Central for future sales. And they are far from the only big offender. I run every anonymizer i can think of, clear all data after a login (like to here) when i leave the site, and switch VPN IPs regularly. I'm not trying to beat the NSA, just the sleazebags that want to sell my privacy. As to OP, I'm not seeing any problem with FF (latest version whatever that is) and agree with shut down and restart as a first option. Could it be competing browsers if you have them open at the same time?

RE: RV dump station Fee - pay if only getting fresh water ?

....Not sure I'd want to get fresh water at a dump station, even if it is marked as potable.... Mike ^^^ This ^^^

RE: Choosing our first travel trailer! Big family

...Please tell me more about avoiding camping world. They had so many choices!... In my case the bodybuilder sales manager got in my face to try to intimidate me into signing the contract. They had tried to paper shuffle to hide the numbers and then the 'just initial here' BS. Tactics that were lower than any used cars salesman i have ever heard of and i called them on it. Seems that crooked people dont like having the Truth pointed out to them. Reported it to CW corporate management and all they did was shine me on. I take that to mean that the behavior is within corporate policy. Look around there all you want, but buy from someone you can trust.

RE: Problems unique to Toy Haulers

Thanks for the replies, folks! At the moment, my toys only consist of bicycles and kayaks. But a dirt bike or a 4wheeler (a pair of Rokons is just a thought at this point) is a possible future add. Nothing particularly heavy, just enough to offroad a bit in western deserts for rock hounding. No plans to treat the space as a garage once we park- we intend to secure the toys outside and use the space as living area. And i definitely watch weights/towing capabilities.

RE: I needed to add an extra browser

Firefox is more concerned for your personal privacy than any other browser that i know of. If there's a better alternative, I'd love to hear about it.

Problems unique to Toy Haulers

We've never had a TH, but have been thinking of adding one to the fleet. Any issues/considerations specific to Toy Haulers that i should look out for? (prob looking at a shorter TT or 5er.)

RE: Quality of Forest River

Pretty typical of the few FRs (Rockwoods) that i've seen. I used up a couple of cans of spray foam sealing a FR 20-footer once.

RE: Later and Later Check-in times

.... Depending on the CG some don't care. Seems like state parks are more finicky. ime, private CGs are more concerned with their customers' convenience whereas the gov run CGs are most concerned about themselves. In all my years of RVing, i can count surly employees at private CGs on 1 hand but it'll take a lot more digits than i have to total up the surly gov CG employees. (tho surly folks are still very much in the minority!).

RE: Got camper inspected at camping world. Big mistake

Just curious: for you folks that live in vehicle inspection states, it is waived for 100% electric cars?

RE: What 50 amp surge protector do you recommend, and why?

We have the Progressive Industries 50 Amp and are very satisfied with it. We had two SurgeGuard units before the PI and both failed, one pretty spectacularly. Water intrusion was their downfall. The PI has been going strong for about 3 years now. I agree with the brand, but would suggest a permanent install. Link Mine was installed at the DRV factory. Full-time for 5+ years with ZERO issues. PI + permanent install = no worries imo.

RE: ? Which Dehumidifier?

Honestly, i dont care about the watts. CG pays for that. I dont recall the OP being worried about it either. Just suggesting an option that has worked great for me. Investigate the options, choose which you think will work for You. And i hope whatever anyone chooses works great for them! I dont own stock in any of these companies. (btw, if used in the summer, you also need to calculate joule expenditure of the extra AC to counter the heat a compressor uses. In the winter, of course, that heat will be a welcome addition).

RE: PacNorthwest to Tennessee in January?

Just watch the weather for snowstorms and any ice and plan on some downtime if it shows. I think once you get east of the Rockies, youll be fine. +1 on the warm route if conditions warrant.

RE: Times Up, Told You So, DirecTV is Dead

As usual some posters here can't get the facts right (OK, maybe only one whose name I will not acknowledge). I never left the thread, I left responding to one particular participant behind.HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! But thats EXACTLY what you just did!!! Dont you see it? :B:B:B:B:B CONGRATS on the Grand Slam......now i have to figure out what a 5er is.......on a Rv fourm.........hmmmmmmmmmmm............... btw fyi, those that dont provide anything other than Opinion when the other party provides links are usually blowing smoke. :B GO SpaceX!

RE: ? Which Dehumidifier?

+1 on the EvaDrys. Note that they make different sized units. I suggest checking out their website and seeing what fits your needs. Used properly, they work great, but realize that most RVs are sieves when it comes to humid air infiltration. EvaDrys also have the benefit of not using any compressor which pumps a lot of heat into the air. And yes, they use a hose drain (note that it is an uncommon size so get a factory hose if you get one).

RE: Times Up, Told You So, DirecTV is Dead

^^^^^^^^^^^NICE^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^I thought you said you left this thread. Hat Trick is yours. Now shooting for the Grand Slam. Elon tweeted today that they are expanding Starlink beta testing into the public in the northern US and southern Canada. Other company officials said that is basically the latitude northern Oregon and points north. Dang how i love watching those rockets carry the future internet up into orbit! https://www.spacex.com/launches/ (my privacy settings wont let me make it hot, so apologies in advance)
