RE: Cautionary tale

I never thought to check whether the jack worked or not because it looked like new. I feel like such a moron. If you had needed it, you'd be writing now about the epic story of finding and buying one, and the nice person who helped you.

RE: I must have violated one of the rules

A few days ago I posted what I thought was informative information on the 1918 pandemic and referred the reader to an excellent book on the subject and listed the name of the book and the author. It didn't make it to the Forum so listing the book must have been a no no. I had a post removed once. I had to ask a Moderator why. I think it would be nice here is a post is removed that the Moderators tell us why privately.

RE: Rig for two couples?

No company makes an RV big enough for 2 couples.lol Made me and my GF laugh too. She did not laugh at the Chinese symbol of strife, however.

RE: One of those things about traveling

I'm surprised how often I read of something in the news and "We've been there". Hopefully everyone will be okay, and it will only be property damage from the floods in the area. Very tragic - sometimes 6 degrees of separation is more like one degree.

RE: Rig for two couples?

Friend asked me what kind of camper I’d recommend for two couples to travel together... My GF and I have a 30 foot trailer and we find it crowded with our stuff strewn about. I like the 2 smaller trailers idea.

RE: If getting 'Service Temporarily Unavailable!'

Also http://forums.goodsamclub.com/ is more reliable . X2 since I started using the Good Sam site my problem is gone. Just switched to forums.goodsamclub.com - hopefully, this is better.

RE: If getting 'Service Temporarily Unavailable!'

Regardless of the F5 key or Control-R, it makes the forum unusable. I wish it was working better, as I like being here.

A photo would help.

RE: I was worried about the Corona Virus on my trailer

We thought the dark colored stain was mold, but it was just dirt. We live next to a vineyard. That explains it. I am glad the dirt washed off so easily.

RE: I was worried about the Corona Virus on my trailer

You're a fast worker. That's about an hour and a half. I was tired. On the far side of the trailer, it is cramped and difficult to climb the ladder.

I was worried about the Corona Virus on my trailer

I was told to disinfect my trailer. Was this the right way to go? Youtube

RE: Solar Charging and Amp Hours

Thank you for this help. In my mind, I thought only the battery side of the controller was modulated. Now I understand the charge controller allows current flow from the panel in the same way.

RE: Solar Charging and Amp Hours

And the power output of the panel drops down? Eventually meaning a 100 watt panel no longer puts out any power?

RE: Solar Charging and Amp Hours

If the controller gradually limits current to the battery as the battery charges up, where does the power from the solar panel go? I assume the panel continues to gather solar energy and sends the power it generates to the controller. What does the controller do with the power it no longer sends to the battery?

Solar Charging and Amp Hours

Is the amperage from a solar panel constant as the battery it is charging charges up? I.e., as your battery reaches full charge, the current drops to zero either via the charge controller or the equalization of the panel and battery, right? So this simple math is false? 120 watt panel, 12 volt system, 10 amps, 10 hours to charge a 100 Amp Hour battery?

RE: Class V Hitch?

Once it came in really handy back in 2015 when my vehicle needed a new fuel pump on a Friday night. My parents loaned me their 3/4 ton Silverado which had a 2" receiver and I was still able to hook up and go very easily. Had I had a 2.5" shank, I would have a lot more work to switch to another vehicle. Good reason to have the sleeve!

RE: LED Strip Repair

IF you know how to solder you can solder the two pad halves together. Thanks - I will check that out. The access and space is really limited. I might be better off pulling it out and putting a whole new piece in. When it first "failed", it was intermittent. Later, if I pressed on the area you mentioned, it would come on. Now it is neither intermittent or responsive when I press.

LED Strip Repair

The LED strip over my dinette and couch lights up only to its midpoint. This half works: http://www.winecountrystarparty.com/images/20200416_144431.jpg width=500 This half does not work: http://www.winecountrystarparty.com/images/20200416_151035.jpg width=500 Here is where the connection must be bad: http://www.winecountrystarparty.com/images/20200416_151054.jpg width=500 Is this just an adhesive-backed strip, stuck to the wall, with a 12 volt connection on the one end (in the first photo)?
