RE: Grey tank ABS pipe leak

If you do just use a solvent to seal the crack, first drill small holes at the ends of the crack to keep it from growing.

RE: Indian Reservations

As Will Geer would say in Jerimiah Johnson, "Watch your topknot." But in all seriousness, If you carry, watch their firearms laws. They will get you in trouble.

Tub Drain

This afternoon I decided to do a quick bit of maintenance. Check the water heater anode rod and flush the tank. One thing lead to another. Why not sanitize the freshwater tank while I'm at it? To flush the system, I used the bathtub faucet. I have always had a little water on the floor after showering, figured it was just water getting by the curtain. But while running the tub today, I found the same small puddle. Some investigation revealed that the tub leaks around the drain. This is because the P-trap is directly touching the floor. Stepping in the tub caused enough flex to put upward pressure on the drain basket and a breaking of the seal of plumbers putty. I've got about a ten inch by ten inch hole to work with. I can either see what I'm looking at or have an arm in there working. Not both. Not sure how I am going to get a second arm in there to hold two wrenches to work with in order to re-puddy the drain. After this, I need to figure some bracing to stop any of the flex, or the problem will continue. There may even by some room for this bracing to fit. Fingers crossed.

RE: best method for maintaining batteries

Looks like I will just be lazy and let the panels work. Thanks.

best method for maintaining batteries

I just got a new house battery, (flooded wet cell)to replace the old tired one. I want to get the most life out of it. What is best for keeping it maintained while sitting for extended periods? I have 200 watts of solar (two Renogy panels and their controller). Is it best to just keep it hooked up and let the panels and controller do their thing, or would I be better off disconnecting the battery and using some sort of battery maintainer/smart charger?

RE: Avoiding Nashville

Like others said, it is hard to avoid. What I do when going through on I24, even though I know my route, is to put the other side of Nashville into the GPS. It lets me know which lanes to be in. I24 varies from needing to be in left or right lanes, and I can never remember which. This gives more of a heads up than the road signs.

RE: Saw a unicorn F-150 on the road yesterday!

My previous truck was a base model F150 regular cab. Nothing fancy about it at all. Got good mileage and towed my camper just fine. I just missed having the 4X4, so I traded it in.

RE: "Use Both Lanes Until Merge Point"

Yes, the lane is technically "open until it's not", but the reason for the signs are to alert you that the lane will end in "x" feet and as a result of that warning, it is expected that one will merge when it is safe to do so, and not at the end of the lane. I have never seen a sign that says keep going and then merge at this point (at the end). Mike Then read what the OP wrote:"Construction companies are now posting signs for traffic to "Use Both Lanes" up to the merge point where there is another sign stating "Merge Here" ..."

RE: "Use Both Lanes Until Merge Point"

When people have opportunities to move over and they don’t and speed past to the end THAT is the problem. When I pulled in like most have and are in the thru lane we are bumper to bumper near the end. Why should I hit my brakes to let someone in that clearly does not think they should wait like everyone else??? You are bumper to bumper backed up potentially for miles, blocking offramps behind you. All while a perfectly open lane is sitting there empty. On edit, sorry, I quoted the wrong post. You simply don't get it!!! The open lane does NOT go thru. It's open the last bit because most courteous drivers have already formed into the single line that goes thru. Nope, you don't get it. The lane is open all the the way until it is not. And to add: driving a million miles does not mean you know any better. If you do something wrong a million times it is still wrong.
