RE: Rapid City, SD to Yellowstone

Chevy1, that's a good route but I think 191 to 26 to 20 to I/25 would be just as easy and cut out a lot of miles.

RE: Slide room lock ??? on Winne MH

We had a '11 Journey with slide locks. They broke a couple of times. There is a tiny "micro switch" in side that is very fragile. I took them out and never used the locks in 75,000 miles of traveling without a problem.

RE: Black tank not draining!

Before we learned the proper way to use the black tank, I bought a flusher at Camping World that you used from the toilet. It's only a short stiff hose with and open/close valve and a spray head. It worked well; then we never needed it again. You could also fill the black tank with clean water and let it sit for a while.

RE: Winnebago quality

First, Winnebago has been buying (Newmar & Grand Design), not being bought. We have had three Winnebagos and love them all. Their workmanship and quality was above most others!

RE: Ever hear of this camping company? Harvest Host

We love HH! We have met some of the nicest people, hosts and guests. Most times we spend more than a campground would charge but we come home with lovely wines and cheeses. At most HH you feel like a real guest rather then a paying customer. It's not for everyone.

RE: Non-level campsites Class A

It's best not to lift your wheels off the ground, especially the rears (drive). Use manual leveling and make small adjustments. It doesn't have to be perfect.

RE: Air compressors

a Viair will work for you I paid $160 on Amazon for the basic unit. Yesterday I raised the pressure from 120 to 130 in about 10 minutes. You can spend a lot more if you need all the bells and whistles!

RE: Sleepy Hollow, NY parkways?

As a former Parkway Police Officer, NO, for the trailer but the truck alone will be fine. Nobody's going to check your weight.
PS there's a good chance the trailer would get stuck under a bridge.

RE: ladder extendable ???

The light weight Little Giant is a 7' step and a 17' extension ladder. It fits on its side in our bay. It's very sturdy for people like me, who don't like using ladders.

RE: Visit to New England

Just a quick answer, your camper is most likely not allowed on any parkway in NY but it's worth a call to the State Park to find out for sure.
