RE: Winnemucca to Klamath Falls on 140

Regarding the issue of fuel stops.....is this a concern for the Sprinter and Transit RVs that only have a 25 gallon tank....but do get 13-18 mpg?

RE: Comprehensive mobile app for campsites/grounds/rules

For years I have found the app, Allstays Camp & RV to be my best tool for finding campgrounds. RV Parky is a newer one that also gets good reviews.

RE: a comparision of two different LI chemistries

They did kinda blow off the battery safety factor. Would have liked to have seen more pertinent info on that.....

RE: Ford Transit diesel

Love our Winnebago Fuse....and the Ford Transit on which it was built. Our Transit has been flawless in performance in the 2.5 years we have had it. If the reports of hundreds of Winnebago Fuse owners are any indications, they all love the Ford Transit diesel. i know we sure do. i love the smooth ride, the amazing diesel power, and the superb mileage ( 14-19 ) depending on towing and hills or not.

RE: Needles Hwy, Height Restriction.

Here is a portion of information from one website. Same site has photos showing how the walls taper in toward the top. Needles Highway Walls do not 'taper' in these tunnels on this road. Here is a view of bus entering from other end. Figure it out for yourselves.: Best view of Needles highway tunnel situation

RE: Needles Hwy, Height Restriction.

The tunnels are curved on the top. Height at fog line which is the low point, For some of the rigs I would also concerned about width. NO. The Needles Highway tunnels being spoken of here are unique.....square hole tunnels....mostly flat on top.....no curve, Single lane, no fog lines.....cut through granite.... Google a picture of the 'Needles Eye Tunnel" to see what is being talked about. P

RE: electrical problems

So you have a 50 amp RV and you are using a 50/30 RV adapter and plugging into a NEMA 10-30 outlet? Yea.... DON'T DO THAT. Many things have now been burned up starting with the converter. The supply is 240v and the adapter is 120v. Using a dog bone to plug 50 into 30 is done all the time.No problem. A NEMA 10-30 outlet is NOT the same as an RV 30A outlet....they just look the same. Very dangerous for an RV !

RE: electrical problems

220 vac 30 amp.l! NO! NO! NO! NO! You never plug into 220 vac 30 amp. It will kill most everything. 50 amp has 220 vac but on two separate 120 vac hot legs. And nothing in the RV uses 220 vac. Yeah! Eeeeesh! How did that guy survive this long?

RE: 1975 Safari CT? Anyone ever heard of this?

A picture certainly would be helpful in this case....

RE: Microsoft Edge issues?

I agree completely with what RobWNY said above. Also, I think newer, and larger, software is outgrowing your old laptop. Probably need to think about a new one.....but let Glary Utilities do its job first.

RE: Ham radios

I believe a quality VHF (2M) radio with good properly installed antenna will provide substantial communications capability around most of the continent. We planned on relying on 2M for our emergency communications needs on our journey up British Columbia and even through the Yukon Territory and into Alaska before COVID hit..... It would have had far Better coverage than cell phones. Another option is one of the two satellite system texting options with appropriate plan. As a bit of a Prepper, I keep a Garmin Inreach device on hand with a monthly plan.

RE: Oregon Highway 138 and 38

That has been our default shortcut for years......bypassing the Eugene area. A few stretches of curves and up/downs but no issues with our previous 35' class A . Saw lots of 5th wheels taking same route. You exit I5 at Sutherlin.

RE: Replacing Flooded Lead Acid with AGM - new charge converter?

According to the product description of his current charger converter, it does have Bulk, Absorb, and Float stages of battery charging. It also has battery type selection for wet, AGM, and Gel type batteries. It appears that he does not need to replace his existing charge converter.

RE: California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Nevada and back

Is social distancing involved with all this 'visiting' ? All parties involved are seniors with astute awareness of the current conditions. Also, where we are going, the covid rates are similar to where we live, in Northern California. That is to say, no deaths, few new cases. When I was in Oregon, Washington, Montana and Idaho, every single person encountered was wearing a mask when in public. Nothing remotely close to the current disasters of SoCal, Phoenix and Dade County Florida. Have to re-evaluate my last comment....and change it.....Just today found out a local person in our small Oregon coastal community went up to Salem to just visit friends.....and brought back COVID to our small town....we now have 12 cases and who knows how many more to come thanks to that needless trip. This running around the country in these serious times only serves to spread COVID faster..... sorry ...just this at risk person's opinion.

Good luck on your trip.....and enjoy.

RE: Replacing Flooded Lead Acid with AGM - new charge converter?

It would be helpful to know what model charger you have. Most relatively new ones have capability to switch battery type. In my opinion, most Wet cell chargers will not be unsafe to charge AGM types....but the slight different charge algorythems may shorten the life of the AGM batteries....

RE: Service Plan Refund

Good morning, How does one go about getting a refund? We bought a service plan for 4 years/48,000 miles but we want to sell the RV and want a refund on the plan now. Thanks The process should be in your service plan contract.....or you could just call them and ask .
