RE: Chromebook questions

I've been using a Chromebook as my only computer for several years. You don't have to be connected to the internet. Most of them have tiny hard drives, like 32gb. Get a 128gb SD card for $20, stick it in, and it is your hard drive. If you need the space you can get more than one. No need to mess with a usb external drive. Wife loves hers, virus free, it is fast for general surfing, emails, etc. I do business on a Windows computer.

RE: Looking for advice on purchasing a 3/4 or 1 ton pickup

About the only difference between a HD 3/4 ton and a SRW 1 ton is $200 and the 1 ton can haul twice as much. It never makes sense to buy a 3/4 ton. Your choice should be between a 1/2 ton and 1 ton SRW. Have you got an exit plan? Great advice! :B

RE: Impact of Coronavirus on Parks?

Hope there are a lot of sky-is-falling campers out there, there'll be more campsites available to the rest of us. Not in SW NM RV parks are getting filled. Schools out, state parks closed, many asked to stay home from work. That equals lots loading kids and heading out for unscheduled vacations.

RE: Norcold Refrigerator not cooling

Old-Biscuit is an expert in this field! I wondered what Norcold, I had issues with the 18 CUFT he helped me with. I also found a repair on the doors that did not close as it was supposed to.

RE: Germs, viruses and fuel pump handles and doors

Cheap gloves in the door, used only to fuel. Get too dirty toss and replace, same as I did driving commercially.

RE: Is SHE GONNA BLOW!

My 2015 F350's Lariat has been flawless in and out of 4x4, you got a lemon. BTW I have been in Super Duty's since 1999 and the only one that had issues was an 06 King Ranch with the infamous 6.0.

RE: Is Socializing a Dying Thing in the RV Community?

To Pat & Chris, I like your post. A lot of very truthful ideas and observations. OH yes, my hair is red. People do not generally like red hair unless it is on a lady. I have personally experienced the prejudice some have toward redheads. Maybe I should start a protest like some of the other idiotic protests out there folks are having just because someone has a different take on a given subject. A long time ago my parents told me, "If you don't have something 'good' to say about someone, keep your mouth shut". Wow, if that idea got loose, there would be people that disagreed with the wisdom of the statement. To each, their own. I don't have to agree with you to talk about a subject. If folks feel like being by their-selves rather than mingle with other parts of the RV crowd, so be it. If folks want to socialize, that is fine also. My personal pet peeve is someone who is or who acts ignorantly. I have no patience for such things, so when someone with ignorant tendencies shows up, I make distance my friend. It is very easy to turn and walk away and leave all the drama behind. Time to go fishing, or golfing, or just go read a book, or maybe even gaze at all the natural beauty that surrounds us. Mingle or don't mingle. Do whatever you want as long as it does not impede my personal environment. Enjoy RVing / camping until you can't! Lakeside You would kill the internet forums. ;)

RE: What are full timers doing?

Find a commercial park or BLM land.

RE: Slideout relays

Check near the battery, mine are in the front basement compartment, battery is on the other side of the wall. Just replaced one when slide would start and stop. They are normally auto resetting but yours could be manual reset.

RE: fuel tank/toolbox combo

I have an 80 gallon above rail and the hose folds into the bed. There is a B&W Companion hitch behind the tank. I installed the nozzle to the drivers side and fuel from it, fresh fuel goes in the tank so it's rotated. I changed the pictured Fil-Rite pump to a GPI pump after two Fil-Rites failed. The truck I have on order has the camera that is used to hitch up the fiver or gooseneck. I have to make sure whatever I put back there doesn't block the view of the camera Nor sure where that mounts, I lost my rear view with the RV tailgate. I do have a white stripe in the middle of the tank and another on the pin box of my 5W. Line them up backing under, I do get out to check height just before hooking.

RE: fifth wheel gas stops

Here is something interesting from the KZ forum. Fuel program that gives =way= better discounts than does the GS or other in-house fuel cards. Note that Emperor Marcus is going after Pilot/Flying J as he claims they have an exclusive contract with them for their measly 5 cent discount. https://kzfamilyforum.com/thread/3034/new-diesel-fuel-program Lyle Only good for diesel Lyle, at some truck stops not all. The app shows which. Took on 50 gallons today and saved $34.17.

RE: New Mexico State Parks Suspend Overnight Camping

Well this is the sort of thing incompetent politicians do when they want to pretend they are doing something. They take some useless step that inconveniences the public as a show of activity. I am not a resident of NM and know nothing of the politics or even the political party in control, BUT it seems obvious there is an incompetent, two faced governor running the State. Before closing open areas and State Parks it would first make sense to close all areas where people actually congregate. That would mean all sporting events, all restaurants, bars, movie houses, malls, churches, places of business, courts, non-essential public offices, etc, etc. I'm a resident and yes the current governor leaves lots to desire, won't say any more. She has closed all schools 3 weeks starting Monday and opened the school cafeterias for child lunches. ???? 10 of 2,097,000 2 in hospital and 8 under home quarantine . Def Con 1 same thing we always hear from that party, the worlds going to end unless we take control.

RE: fifth wheel gas stops

Take a driving class and get more comfortable with your length. Wife picked a 40ft 5W with a CCLB so I decided I need to learn to drive that big. I took a CDL class and ended up buying a class 8 truck. After 750,000 miles in 75ft there are few stations I won't go in with 35ft 5W and the CCLB. Know where your trailer is and watch clearances, wait until clear to pull in.

RE: Foot pedal spring, Thetford Aqua Magic 2

I had the same issue last year and messed around 2 days. The Theford will tell you it can not be put back in & I watched YouTube and researched. I replaced the Theford Aqua Magic 2 with the Dometic 310. After about 9 months use I would never go back to a Theford, the 310 actually flushes the bowl all the way around. About $120 with every thing you need. I did add a shut off valve in the water supply behind the bowl.
