RE: 6 volt batteries, discharge limits

For maximum life recharge at the 50% mark which I remember as 12.1 V. You should be able to look them up online Using Google search or the like.

RE: fuel trouble

Do you idle the engine for a couple of minutes to cool it down before you shut it off?

RE: Norcold N811 fridge-no power

You might make sure that the 12 V battery is not discharged.

RE: Dometic Atwood gc10-4e hot water heater overheating

I would switch back to Propane and see if that still works properly. If it is not proper now then maybe the service Company didn’t do it correctly. No harm in switching it over to Propane and I would shut the electric off completely so you know exactly what the gas is doing.

RE: Dometic Duo Therm Thermostat / Zone 2 issue

Mine has like a telephone cable which is a digital communications cable. Might try unplugging and plugging the cable back in at the thermostat and then take The inside air conditioner covers off and unplug and plug that communications cable. If you can find someone to help you you can take the outside covers off of the AC units and unplug and replug the cable back in there on the circuitboard. If that does not correct then see if you can find a mobile tech to come and troubleshoot. You may call me if you wish and I will try to help you over the phone.

RE: 2003 Mandalay slide trouble

Have you talked to the Mandalay factory in Elkhart Indiana? Charger is also a good service company in northern Indiana that works on Mandalay’s. It might be that you have a roller that’s broken.

RE: Jack Switch?

I think it is much more likely that you have an open rather than a short. A short would blow fuses. If you can consult with the manufacture of that jack system they might be able to answer your question. Or take a chance And just replace the switch and see what happens. I don’t like troubleshooting by just replacing parts but sometimes it might be the best way. The way you describe how it is supposed to work brings to mind that there might be a relay in the circuit that sets when you initially push the rocker switch and that latches the circuit in until the operation is complete. Without a schematic Or some advice from the builder it’s kind of a shot in the dark.

RE: Winnebago Minnie Plus Blowing Fuses

It might not be easy to find. It might help if you determined what didn’t work when the fuse was blown. It might give you a clue. Question: does it blow immediately every time you put a new fuse in?

At one time the H1 Hummers had that feature.

RE: Is CG info available from MFG's

I am a retired engineer and I know of no way to know that ahead of time if the manufacturer doesn’t provide it. After I bought my motorhome I loaded it up as good as I could and then had it weighed each axle separately. From that you can determine the CG at least from front to rear. I know of no easy way to measure the height of the CG or even how important that might be.To play it safe I never take the corners so fast that it becomes unsafe.

RE: 50 amp surge protector

I had a Progressive on mine. A surge hit it and fortunately we were in the trailer and were able to save it when we smelled the burning wires. The Progressive didn’t stop squat. I am a retired electrical engineer and professional troubleshooter. I am curious on why you thought there was a surge. What did you find that caused the burning wires? If there had been a significant transient voltage spike you would not have time yourself To shut it off because the voltage spikes only last for microseconds or milliseconds. Please let me know some more details and especially what caused the burning wires. Thanks.

RE: Bigfoot tripping house GFI

Like said above make sure that the neutral and the ground wires are not connect together anywhere in your RV.

RE: AC toast?

You really need an amateur in conjunction with your voltmeter to do a better diagnosis. And like said above it could be just a starting capacitor. If I were you I would get an experienced electrician or air conditioner guy to check it out And determine exactly what is wrong.

RE: 2020 Escape Hybrid Towing Question

You can test the 12 V socket by plugging something in with the ignition in the various positions. You should also be able to check to see if the steering wheel is locked or not. When I tow my Honda the steering wheel is unlocked and the 12 V outlet is powered for my Brake Buddy.
