RE: New polar cub Mach 8 AC and the Honda eu2000i question

Al, sorry for your loss. I have a Mach 8 on my TC and run it with my Honda 2000i. I would definitely install the MicroAir and then see if you can run the AC while charging your lithium batteries.

RE: Theodore Roosevelt National Park

There is the Juniper campground in the north unit with 50 sites, first come first served, no reservations. You shouldn’t have any problems getting around with you 26’ motor home. Enjoy.

RE: Renting My Truck Camper

Sell it, the market for used RV’s is hot right now but will cool and then there will be a lot of used RV’s, cheap.

RE: Nissan for a tow vehicle

If your Chevrolet dually doesn’t have too many miles why not install a flatbed and install single wheels in the rear?

RE: Cassette toilet/shower

This is an old thread. If anyone is still interested, I will give a quick summary of cassette toilets. Many of us are very happy to have a cassette toilet and would never want to exchange it for a black tank. There are advantages/disadvantages either way. If you regularly camp in developed campgrounds and RV parks, a black tank will be more convenient. If you regularly camp in remote locations or even National Park or Forest campgrounds without dumps, then a cassette can be more convenient. The cassette can be dumped in a regular toilet or outhouse. Once in 10 years and thousands of nights of camping, I had to dig a hole of proper depth and in a remote location away from camping and any streams/lakes. Again that was only once and a semi-emergency. Another positive is the low use of water. Mine "flushes" completely with the push of a button and just a cup or less of water from a dedicated 6 gallon tank. On the downside the cassette must be emptied every few days. I have never had any issues with the cassette when going up or down in elevation. I do have a separate 15 gallon gray tank. When camping in remote locations with out a water supply, I conserve water and the gray tank lasts for a week or two. Even so I try to keep the tank mostly empty and dump a few gallons every few days when I find an appropriate location. Many NP campgrounds do not have dump stations but do have a receptacle specifically for dumping cassette toilets or kitchen waste water from tent campers. When we had our 2006 Northstar TC with a cassette toilet and 15 gallon grey water tank, I carried a 5 gallon collapsible bucket and would draw off 4 gallons of grey water at a time, and dump it at the outdoor sink where tent campers washed their dishes.

RE: Renting My Truck Camper

I wouldn't do it if your camper is anything nice. I would hate to clean up after others and then show up everytime they can't get something right or pulling tools at midnight to fix something wrong after driving for a long time. Additionally, I just don't want my camper feeling like it's been a public restroom.JMHO Exactly!:?

RE: Antifreeze NOT Bypassing Water Heater

On second thought, I have two. One at the water pump at the front of the TC and pickup from the RV Antifreeze bottle and one to bypass the water heater inside. X2

RE: New Truck, 2013 Northstar Pop Up

Thanks for the replies! With regards to weight on the tailgate with the camper loaded, the Northstar popup has an 8 foot footprint and does not hang over past the floor of the truck bed. I had no desire for the ProGrade tailgate when I ordered the truck, but, it came standard with the trim package that I ordered. I have also learned on-line, that the ProGrade tailgate will smash into a trailer ball if one is installed in the receiver. There are a lot of unhappy people on the net that have pushed the button to lower the gate and have had it hit the hitch ball, leaving a dent in the tailgate. Two companies have already designed work-arounds to prevent this. One is an electronic switch that senses you have a hitch ball installed and stops the tailgate from lowering. The other is a specially-bent hitch/ball combo that drops the ball lower and also tucks it in a little. GM failed to field test this new tailgate while towing. Just a little frustrating. I'll update this situation once I get the tie downs installed and do a trial fit. Thanks! B&W makes a nice tow ball setup that flips inward so the gate doesn’t hit the ball.

Yes, Kyle did a great job all year and deserves to be champion. Thank you Mr. Hendrick for saving a great racer.

RE: New Tahrz for the F450

I have to believe that those Deestone tires are going to be real loud with that tractor type tread.

RE: New Tahrz for the F450

Nice looking tires. https://i.postimg.cc/wxn9WS83/7-50R16.jpg I just ordered a set of these for my 1976 F-250 4-wd I bought a few days ago, they're being shipped FedEx too. The tires that I bought, from a different seller for my other truck also came FedEx. I buy a lot on-line due to my rural location and seldom get anything shipped FedEx. I find it interesting that they ship soo many tires. Are you going to use those tires for off-road use only?

RE: Opinions on lightweight portable inverter/generators

Even if that technique works who wants to go through that every few years Besides, that's not being honest. Ding Ding Ding Ding..!!!! We have a winner. Character matters. It's not always what you do, it's often what you do when you think no one is watching. Exactly.

RE: Nascar Follies

Cloud: I'll take a swing at it. Bowman, like Hamlin was racing for the win. Bowman drove his car hard in the turn, hot brakes, hot/worn tires, too much speed, couldn't hold his line and got into the 11. How'd I do? :) Exactly. If Denny was on the inside, Bowman would have been into the wall. It was a racing incident and anyone with Denny’s racing experience knows that. I was starting to like Denny but he is acting just like he did when he was a rookie.

RE: Host, Eagle Cap, Lance Suspension Requirements

We ordered the Host Everest. Due for delivery April 2022. For now, we will have the Torklift tie downs installed with stableloads. Drive home ( over Snoqualmie Pass ) and see if we need anything else. Our trips are mainly to the Tucannon area, the St Joe River in Idaho, and Babb, Montana. May as well get a big sway bar while your at it. Go put 2 pallets of bricks in the back and see how much it sags. Bout the same weight as the camper, except the campers center of gravity will be considerably higher. Same amount of dead load compression. A lot more live load body roll. Going to need the sway bar and a whole lot more to carry the Everest comfortably/safely.
