RE: Sticks and bricks security question

I have had my Simplisafe system for 7+ years and I am very satisfied. I am going to upgrade to their newest system so I can incorporate cameras and they are going to discount the new system by 50% for being a loyal customer.

RE: Eastbound

BFRNK, well, then, James Island County Park is the best RV park to stay. Also, easy to Folly Beach and easy to historic Charleston peninsula. Also, some sites have little crabbing docks to catch large blue crabs for a spicy crab and shrimp and corn boil. But call early for reservations.

RE: Noisy dogs

When we are traveling we always seek out motels that are "pet free".
There are still lots of them - Problem solved and no doggy smell too
Guy
Same here, I refuse to stay in a hotel that allows pets.

RE: New Truck More Payload

How about a GM 4500 series or the International CV series? I believe you can order air ride suspension on the International.

RE: Field tricks to remove inside dually wheel?

Wow Bedlam, my truck has never seen winter salt and never will, but the next time I have a chance I am going to pull the duals and put never seize on the hubs.

RE: New shocks?

Bilstein 4600’s work great, out of the box. No climbing under your truck and turning a knob to try to tune for the conditions. Conditions constantly change. Buy Bilstein’s.

RE: First big trip - Newbie questions

Start at the closest faucet and go from there. If you have low point drains, start there.
You also can prime the pump with some water assuming you have access to it.
Definitely start with the low point drains.

Usually carry 20 gallons of fresh and charge the black tank with a few gallons of water and a deodorant packet.

RE: New River Gorge NP

We were in the area last year. The new NP is amazing. We did the drive down to the old bridge that was used to cross the gorge. We stayed in Summersville at Mountain Lake Canpground. While decent, there are definitely better in the area!
Kevin, I took that same drive with my AF 990 TC, it was tight in places;), we also did the bridge walk and it was wow!

New River Gorge NP

We are just finishing up a visit to the newest national park, in West Virginia, and it is interesting. The small town of Fayetteville is charming with some nice eateries. There are several outfitters in the area, for whitewater and hiking/climbing.
We found a great campground, Rifrafter’s in Fayetteville, that is small, clean, quiet, affordable and can accommodate anything from a tent to class A motor home.

RE: A Little Help With Weights

Once you put batteries, propane, all your household goods for cooking and eating/drinking, clothes, basic supplies, you will be well over your trucks payload.

We can thank the government for a lot of this homelessness, close the facilities and gave everyone a pill.

RE: Travel Trailer Towing Recommendations

Curious, what percentage of the time do people need to use 4wd in the winter to get around on the roads?
How well would someone from WA know the winter road conditions (ability of WI Dot to plow) in WI or any where in the Great Lakes region?
I drove a 3/4 ton company van back in the 90’s, through upstate NYS winters and never had a problem.

RE: Travel Trailer Towing Recommendations

Just priced out a 2022 Chevrolet Express 3500, 12 passenger van loaded ready to go, $47,000.00. Not a bad price compared to a Suburban, Expedition, or Jeep Grand Wagoner.
That will tow that TT and all the grandkids without a doubt.
