RE: Warm weather traveling

We always run ours in weather that is warm enough to warrant it. I also run the generator for the the heat pump in cold weather. That is one of nice features of a class A.

RE: Rodents coming in through engine compartment.....

I do not know if this will work but the thought came to me when reading the previous post. Has anyone tried pepper spray? I have electronic devices in the engine and generator compartment and so far no mice.

RE: Leveling Jack issue

I just changed one on our coach this week. Got the valve at Amazon for $320.00. It took less than an hour to change and did not loose but a few drops of fluid. It was shipped from Independence RV In Winter Garden Florida. I called them and ordered a spare to have on hand.

RE: Do ice cubes in the black tank really work?

We have been using Pine Sol and drop in tank treatment for 12 years. Always put a couple of gallons of water in tank after dump and flush. So far no issues with sensors or smell. When I dump I run the flush water until the waste runs clean. (Use clear plastic in 3" hose)

RE: Older MH mpg with diesel

We have an older one with Cat 330 HP on 40' coach with toad. Last year 7K miles traveling through the midwest, northwest and southwest averaged 7.6 MPG. I was happy with that. I estimated that I would get about 7 or less. I set the cruse at 65.

RE: RV Tires

I was a michlin guy for years and used on all vehicles. Six year old Michlin's on motor home with cracked sidewalls were replaced with Toyo-no more Michlins for me.

RE: MH models with the fewest slides

We have a 2001 Newmar 4095 with two slides. It works great for us. Both slides are on drivers side. No tag so get more basement storage. We spend about four months during the summer in it, plus some short trips during the rest of the year. Having a washer and dryer is a big plus for the wife.

RE: Anyone traveling yet

We were planning a trip to the northeast to depart June7th. I have already canceled reservations. I believe we can be as safe traveling as at home, perhaps more so. A trip to the store was scary-the people not keeping safe distance, not wearing mask or gloves. Store not keeping carts and door handles clean. We normally travel with another couple. Both of our coaches are ready to depart. We will depart as soon as the COE and federal/state parks open for camping.

RE: Vintage Winnebago Star of the Movie

That brings back some old memories. Back in the 70's I raced and the factory provided a Winnebago for going to the races and pulling the race machines on a trailer.. I am not sure which model it was but I think Chief, or something similar, comes to mind. I member it was very noisy and not comfortable to drive.

RE: Size ristrictions at state/federal parks

We had a 36' trailer for 9 years and only once had a problem in a Kentucky state park. We spent several months at a time with it. We now have a 40' MH. It is a lot more comfortable and so far we have not had an issue finding a spot to park it.Plan ahead. MOST IMPORTANT Pay attention to ivylog's post-he is spot on. Wife's is tickled to death with the washer & dryer in the coach.

RE: Cost to install apparatus for Flat-towing

Here is a used base plate for Ford Edge. Search classified ad's for items you need. Lots of good items out there. https://www.irv2.com/rvclassifieds/showproduct.php?product=15559&title=blue-ox-bx-2657-base-plate&cat=23

RE: class a motorhome tires

I removed 6 year old Michelins that were cracked and replaced with Toyo. Very pleased. Be sure to check the date on the tires to insure you are not buying older units.

RE: Sold our Vegas 24.1 and now looking bigger

Last year bought a 2001 Newmar Dutch Star. It is 40' and very comfortable to spend several months in. Last summer we did 7K miles in 16 states in four months. If possible get a washer & vented dryer. Drive a few gas and diesel pusher units to determine if the extra cost of a diesel is worth it for the type of traveling you are planning. Gen is diesel. Leveling system has four jacks. Good luck shopping.

RE: Air brakes on Towed

M&G in my opinion is the way to go. As said, one air line and that’s it for brake hookup. Also if you can take it to Athens, TX, They are 1st class all the way. We are from N. TX, drove down day before, stayed at State Park a few miles away. Very glad to hear that. I am having their system installed at the factory tomorrow. They will also set up the lights and charging line for the battery.
