RE: Replacement for Onan 4000

Double Dose your fuel with Stabil, and you should never have a problem, as long as you run it every 2 to 3 months. I have been doing this for 11 years with my 4000.

An intercooler uses water to cool the charge air. Not True!!!!!!!! There are 2 types. An air to air intercooler is an intercooler that uses air to cool air. Meaning the exchange of heat that occurs is between the air that you have charged in your charge pipes and the air that is flowing through the intercooler. Air to Air intercoolers are only as efficient as the ambient airflow (air temperature outside) that they see. Placement of these types of intercoolers is therefore very important in the efficiency of this type of intercooler. A Water to Air Intercooler is one where the exchange of heat occurs between water and air. Water is pumped through the intercooler so that the heat from your charge pipes is transferred to the water. This type of set-up can be mounted anywhere, and just needs to have water plumbed to it. Because of its requirement for the flow of water, this type of intercooler requires a water pump, a reservoir, and a heat exchanger for the water mounted somewhere that will receive good airflow.

RE: Portable Generator Insurance?

I have an Inland Marine Policy thru State Farm. It costs me $78.00 per year, and covers any tools, or materials in my truck up to $5,000.00 with a $100.00 deductible. It is also replacement cost of item. I had my laptop stolen out of my truck. It was mounted on a Ram Mount and was used for Invoicing. I paid $800.00 or $900.00 for it when new, and State Farm ended up sending me $1,300.00 because that is what the closest spec HP laptop cost to replace the stolen one.

RE: Portable Generator Insurance?

Get an Inland Marine Policy, and say it is for work use.

Ummmm. Must be like buying a fancy luxury car; Mercedes, BMW. I won't ask you personally and don't want to know, but I'm wondering how many young folks buy and finance these things for a hundred years.I have not had a car payment in decades. That will remain so going forward. As for the youngsters.... Starting out they likely need to have car payments. Hopefully many will get off the payment train ASAP. I just bought an Expedition. Ford Credit finance choices were 0% for 5 years or 1.8% for 6. At those interest rates it would be silly to use your own money. Congrats on the new ride. I hope it treats you well.Financing is never free. It is rolled into the price when it is offered. If you look hard enough, you can buy it for less if you forgo the "free" financing Just one of the many games the car biz plays. That is DEFINITELY not always true!!!! I was going to buy my truck with cash, but when I found out that I could get 0% financing I said "why not." You have to make your deal with an out the door price. Once you get the cash price you find acceptable, then you can take the 0% financing. I was still able to use my GM cash, and rebate.

RE: Tongue weight issue on new toy hauler

Your pictures leave a lot unanswered. It is clear that you are loosing weight on your steer axle, and need hitch adjustment or heavier spring bars, maybe both. Is the trailer level when loaded and hooked up? If it is and the rear is that low, you are going to have problems, and need to look into having your axles flipped, or I hate to say this should of bought a trailer that was better equipped/set up. I think that trailer is inadequate for that heavy of load and according to your figures you have already exceeded the GVWR. UVW 5608 lb.CCC 2152 lbGVWR 7760 lb
