RE: Holiday Rambler in tank fuel pump quit. Cant find relay?

It’s NOT a bad lift pump which is only used for starting the engine... learned that the expensive $$ way. I had the same problem and by putting a short length of clear plastic tubing ($5 in hose, pipe nipple, & 2 clamps) after changing the lift pump, I could see small bubbles in the fuel with lift pump running and the engine running. A big change in temperature made a fitting (which was tight) at the tank start leaking. Removing the hose and putting back on (not as tight) solved the air getting into the fuel which gave me full power again. Spend $5 putting a clear hose at a fuel filter to check for air in the fuel system.

RE: Holiday Rambler in tank fuel pump quit. Cant find relay?

The Cummins engine has a 12V fuel lift pump on the engine ...didn’t find a pump in the tank on page 397.

RE: Selinoid

A DP doesn’t have a neutral safety switch...will start without air in the system and with the parking brake on or off. I do not know of a diesel starter that doesn’t have the solenoid mounted on it. I did look in my front run box and there is not a fuse for the starter there. I previously posted that there is a fuse in the rear run box on the board that lets you start from there.

RE: Powerglide Chassis

Verizon y little of any chassis is made by Tiffin, Spartan, Freightliner, or the old Monaco... REV Monaco’s are on a Freightliner chassis. Drive axles are usually Dana, airbags Firestone, engines Cummins, tranny Alison. The Monaco S-10 chassis probably has more custom built items...the H frame and various bars to hold it in place.pppp

RE: Monaco

On the rear start board ^^^^ there are 2 fuses. One is for the starter and others for the fuel...check them. You can eliminate the front key start by turning the key on and going to the back and try starting from there.

RE: Class A creature comforts at FHU stays

A cold Christmas in the SE has me loving my AHot even more. Normally the electric element provides enough heat... not the last 4 days in N Florida as it’s needed the diesel boiler. The engine also provides heats when going do the road. When upgrading we knew we didn’t want a window over the head of the bead again...cold and more noise. Last couple of night’s proved that wisdom...25 degrees against even double pain glass passes a lot of cold. Plenty of good used high-end rigs out there with many years of service left in them. Was not impressed with the new stuff so we went 10 years old when upgrading and three years later it was another smart move.

RE: Long trips

X2 on the ^^^^ by rgatijnet1...several months in the summer with no reservations and dry camping most of the time. Still do the 1500 miles to CO in 2 days and 2.5 days home from MT. Personal best is 4 miles from a Private CG to a USFS CG. Hard to beat the convenience of a class A.

RE: Is there any difference in DRIVING a gas class A vs diesel?

“ I was wondering if it would be worth trading again to get a better ride and livability.” YES although you won’t be able to say you didn’t hear what the wife said.

RE: made up own towing system

Guess my $30 and 30 seconds to install braking system is going to scare and worry some of Y’all. 2 more payments and it will be paid for. Again only been using it for 120K miles.

RE: made up own towing system

120K miles behind 3 different DPs. Advantage is I can backup and get to discuss with the toll booth person how many axles I should pay for. Only 8K miles towing a’s not a dolly.

RE: How long can you go on a 50 amp extension cord?

If the silver plug can handle 15-20 amps I’m pretty sure 3 of the larger ones can handle the load the OP will put on them.
