RE: 2002 Lance 811 Rebuild: Rig is Ready!

Congrats on finishing your project, looking good. Two weeks back, the western Catskills, were just showing some nice color change, if that's your thing.

Crappyjacks

I have probably run my jacks up/down 20-25 times this season, for the second time, today, I blew my LR 20 amp fuse, everything seems ok voltage to all 4 corners is the same, nothing loose or frayed. Any thoughts on why. Any one else run into this problem ? Thanks K Mac

RE: How does this work?

I'm seeing as I'm a little less mobile as I was, I keep in on more and have lunch, coffee,etc.. in camper more. This is my 5th time out this year(53 days) with 11 more days on this trip. I do EVERYTHING in my camper this year because of the covid epidemic, only using outdoor showers, and my own outside shower. I don't seem to mind taking the TC everywhere as much as I use to, not committed this way.

RE: Front hitch to carry motorcycle

I ordered my truck w/ the plow pkg. just to be able to make a rack that sat low. Rack comes out and up on a "Z" shaped (2) male hitch, no wobble at all. The plow frame can carry a 10' plow and all its workings, so weight should not be a problem. Just be mindful of your clearance entering gas stations and the like if your not used to having a plow frame.

RE: Who's hitting the road this summer?

We're on A.I in Md. and found out that N.Y. (home) just put Md. & De. on the naughty list,(31 states) This means that DW will have to quarantine at home for two weeks (state mandate) when we get back home from her job, which she only went back to two weeks ago, myself also will be required to quarantine. This was third trip this year with two cancelled (Md. and Me). We don't go out, cook everything in TC even avoid the public restrooms. We were hit hard in lower NY by this covid 19, somedays losing 700-800 people a day in our area. Almost everyone we know has lost someone be it family, co-workers, friends. As we traveled to the mid Atlantic, and the heartland states it seems to DW and myself than people are not as cautious as our area is about the pandemic. I am not knocking anyone or any area, but as it has shown this epidemic is not going away anytime soon. Please be careful as you enjoy our little world in TC land. Keep camping and enjoying the freedom that our TC's allow us to go anywhere, anytime. Have fun and be safe everyone.

RE: Atwood Electric Jacks - Replacement Electronics

I like the "Made in the U S A " aspect. After just having a minor glitch with my jacks, I also will be keeping this info also, thanks.

RE: Truck camper loading question

I have a similar scenario, and I use 8" X 8" blocks. Your front jacks are mounted quite a bit higher than the rear so maybe use smaller blocks on the rear. I try not to be more than 3"- 4" Front to Rear. The jacks do have markings to help you judge, including a warning.

RE: Camper jack torn off driving

If your in business you should have a bottle jack or a floor jack some pipe, or 4x4, is all you need. Just be careful then shore it up safely enough to do repair.

RE: Any thoughts on a repair?

Sorry for your misfortune, as said, doable, even if you have to build a temp. tent, to get it out of the weather. This is not a couple of wknds. worth of work. You can search all kind of fixes/repairs here, most better than factory. Time, lots of time. Don't let it overwhelm you. Was this a dealer ? (if so I drive it through his front window) or not I'd ask a lawyer if you have any recourse. No way they can say "they weren't aware " of the problem. Good luck !

RE: Turnbuckle ?

To remove TL's I only need to pull handle up, and wiggle/jiggle the hook out of the top TC tie down then the bottom hook from truck tie-down, no turning involved. As I said 9 out of ten times just hook bottom first then top. If a adjustment is needed it's usually 1-3 turns taking seconds.

RE: Turnbuckle ?

If I understand your analysis, no, quite the opposite, once you find your happy (tension) place, you then slide the o-ring to 1/4" below the housing, this will help you monitor how your positioned ,as opposed to how you were when you departed. It's real simple to hook the bottom in the tie-down & twist them. On my last trip a walk-by visual made me aware that TC shifted a bit, because one front o-ring was down 1/2". Couldn't tell by doing a front or back visual but a measurement confirmed it. We were traveling the hills and dales of routes 40 and 50 through OH., WV.,MD.,VA.,and the coast. Lots of 10-15 mph switchbacks so I was watching them pretty closely. Harder to keep an eye on stuff like that with the chains. 50, The Loneliest Road & 40, America's Main Street are just as beautiful as the Blue Ridge up in the mountains. Inspired me enough to plan a trip on my motorcycle this fall, if this Covid s_ _ t ever goes away, if not we'll carry our hotel. Hope this helps.

RE: Newbie

The handle can let water in alone, then pull or push it some more in the same direction to open valve. IF your black and grey tanks are empty just pull the blacks open, you might have residual liquid so be careful, put a 5 gal. bucket under it. White valves are probably low drain points for fresh water tank and or hot water tank. There all different but the same, experiment. Have you tried contacting a Adventure dealer, or manufacturer.
