RE: RV Loan and Insurance Info

Give us a call at Good Sam Insurance Agency. We have several carriers that will provide full time coverage. The biggest difference with full time is the added liability coverage that covers you away from the campsite. Let's say you are at the grocery store and knock someone over with your cart. Normally homeowners coverage would handle that but if you don't have a home you need the liability coverage on your RV policy. Keith - Director of Good Sam Insurance Agency

RE: my travel trailer will be stationary throughout the year?

Give us a call at Good Sam Insurance Agency. We use Safeco, Progressive, National General and Foremost. At least one of our carriers writes stationary RV's. There are limitations on certain coastal areas. Let us see what we can do for you and shop it. Regarding the "cheap insurance", we are going to go over all the coverage's that we think you should have and you can decide what works best for your situation. Your lienholder is going to require certain things and we can make sure you are covered properly. Keith - Director of Good Sam Insurance Agency

RE: Advice on selling my 5th wheel

If you go the consignment route talk with your insurance carrier and make sure they will cover it while on the consignment lot. Most carriers do not. Keith

RE: Yellowstone Questions

We went 7-8 years ago with our kids and stayed in cabins that were available through the national parks service. They were nice and spacious but not 4 or 5 stars. We stayed at several different ones around the park. They were clean, quiet and we had it all to ourselves. One was right by the lodge and we were able to walk over and see Old Faithful Keith

RE: Portable Generator Insurance?

I was speaking in general. Your situation may differ. Companies that have been hit hard with CAT claims are not going to be lenient with too many claims. If you have a hail claim, a water leak in your house and then turn in a claim for a portable generator from your RV you will more than likely get a cancel notice. Not always, not with every company but the odds are they will cut you loose. I have worked on the company side for almost 30 years and now the agent side.

RE: Portable Generator Insurance?

Also ask if you are getting replacement cost (brand new) or ACV (actual cash value/used). Keith

RE: Portable Generator Insurance?

Having an RV policy that covers the contents of the RV (including a portable generator) is generally better than having to go to the homeowners policy. If you have an accident that damages contents and the RV you only have one deductible. If you have to use both your RV and homeowners policy you will have two deductibles, two claims and two different adjusters to deal with. Most homeowners policies have $1,000 deductibles. With today's home insurance coverage, 1-2 claims and you may find yourself looking for a new policy. Keith Director of Good Sam Insurance Agency

RE: Full time in the 2020 JAYCO EAGLE??

A couple of comments on insurance. You need specialized full timers insurance that provides additional liability coverage even when you are away from your RV. You also need coverage for all your personal property that you have included with your RV policy. Find carriers or agents that specialize in this type of coverage. Keith - Good Sam Insurance Agency

RE: National General Rate Increases

At Good Sam we write with National General, Progressive, Safeco and Foremost. Some carriers have taken more rate in CA. In the case of National General the DOI has asked them to quit offering several discounts which have caused rates to increase. Give us a call and we can quote you with several other carriers to compare rates. Keith - Director of Good Sam Insurance Agency

RE: Ready to Live on the Road and Excited

Where your vehicle is registered is also going to impact the insurance on your RV. If you sell you home in MI you are going to need full timers insurance. This provides you the liability coverage you need that you once had through your homeowners coverage. Give us a call at Good Sam Insurance Agency and we can walk you through what you will need and give you some ideas on what states are less expensive. No obligation.
