RE: Honda EU3200i

Now, if you have a new travel trailer, fifth wheel, or camper that doesn't already have a generator, and no internal bay to mount one, then (IMO) the new Honda 3200i portable would be a good choice. IMO, with 3200 watts (max) power, and rooftop AC, you're ALWAYS going to be chasing power/load management especially if you are running the AC, . . . . even more so at higher altitudes/temperatures.
IMO, an EU2200is and a MicroAir EasyStart kit for your rooftop AC essentially gets you the same result - in a smaller, lighter package - for roughly half the cost.
You could conceivably go even cheaper with a Chinese generator, but the EU2200is's larger engine gives you some starting surge headroom.
X2 This works great for my situation. Sure, you have to manage power use when running the air, but I have the option of adding another 2200 if I feel I need more power and at a lower cost.

RE: Looking for 5 star RV Park

Newer resort
I've been boating in this area since '93 and remember when this area was all hill with shacks scattered about, someone had a great vision and lots of $$, but they did a top notch job here.

RE: Replaced WFCO with PD

The PD unit I bought has the pendant where you can choose which mode to put the unit in if you choose, also has an option for lipo if I ever go that route.

RE: conceal carry permit SD

Why carry a weapon that you can only pull after the crime has occurred? Better to stay away from areas you are so afraid of you need a gun to enter.
because they can

RE: What % Of Alcohol Does Your State Have?

E85 gas has been sold for years at U-Gas stations in Florida. I don't use it in our Honda. My understanding is E85 has 51% to 83% ethanol. U-Gas always has plenty of customers, however; the gas cost the same as the 10% ethanol gas stations. I don't see the savings going to 15% ethanol will accomplish.Any initial savings is lost in fuel economy due to lower energy content.
Depends on how much less $$ it is to how many mpg's you lose. You could actually save money.
For me personally, I won't buy E85 unless it's at least 25% less than E10. Anymore I see E85 for only a few pennies less than E10.

RE: Books on disk

You may be better off using a public library, and downloading audio books to a computer, laptop, ipad or phone. No CDs, no player. I use an app on my ipad called "overdrive". All you need is a membership to the library and you have free access to hundreds of audio books. And you can join other libraries where you travel to. You do it all on line and don't have to go to the library. Been doing it for years.
x2 I use Libby on my phone (android) free downloads from my local library.

RE: Electric Chevy Silverado Debut

I'll let all the guinea pigs figure this EV thing out, until then I'll be buying and using ICE vehicles, no questions about what to expect with them...heck, I might not even live long enough to even have a chance at using an EV.

RE: Router

I already pay way too much for Xfinity/Comcast cable/internet service... I sure as heck was not going to pay rent on their internet hardware... Sure, I have to rent their TV stuff....
No rentals for me ! I went streaming about 5 years ago. I use Amazon Fire Sticks on all of my TV. A couple have simple Over The Air (OTA) antennas.
No rentals for me either. I use Rokus on three TVs, have an Arris modem/wifi and have never went over my data limit(1.2TB).

RE: Ryobi 2300 generator keeps overloading

Honda, you are paying up front for name brand recognition, warranty and dealer supportNo you're not. You're paying for performance, quiet, and quality so you rarely if ever need warranty support.
x2 The Honda 2200 has the largest engine in this size genny, 121cc. The Ryobi 2300 has a 80cc. It makes a difference when putting a load on it.

RE: 6 Volt Battery Winter Maintenance Advice?

I do nothing different for our Samsclub purchased 6 volt golfcart batteries during the winter months as opposed to summer. Regardless of the time of year we keep our batteries properly watered and always plugged in letting our smart converter or inverter charger keep them happily charged.
We experience at least 4 months yearly of sub-freezing temps and easily get a minimum of 8 years of reliable service, they always have life still left in them but with the sales they occasionally have at Samsclub on GC2 batteries we tend to get a fresh pair.
For less than what we spend on fuel for a single RV outing we have 12 volt reserves for many years to come, don't see myself going with newer battery technologies any time soon as we have always had good success over several decades of RVing.

RE: 6 Volt Battery Winter Maintenance Advice?

theres another option. if you hve a good converter in the rv and you leave it pluged in, just leave the batteries set up as normal. I got 14 years out of my lst 6V batteries and they only time they wernt plugged in was when I was driving or camping with out services.
