RE: Need advice on anchor kit for long term TT lot

I agree on asking the park owner/manager for what they want. Do it their way.

RE: expedition or tahoe for 33' TT

Both will "pull" it fine but don't do it. That's toooooo long a trailer for a Tahoe and I've owned three of them....'01, '07 and '15. Wheelbase is too short. Next, "pulling" is easy. Will the Tahoe at about 1,500 to 1,700 pounds of payload carry the weight of most 33 foot TTs? About 800 to 1,000 pounds of tongue weight. Plus whatever you carry in that SUV. Last, no one should care about "dry" weight. No one goes camping "dry." Loaded that 33 footer will be 7,500 pounds...at least. NOPE!

RE: If you have proof...

California now has a computerized way to check an individual's vaccination. It is optional and easy to signup. Progress.

RE: Route from Phoenix to Florida

If you are retired and/or not in a hurry, go through Dallas! RVers don't need to always take the best, shortest or the fastest route.

RE: Bonehead Blunder, I'm an idiot!

I haven't made that bonehead goof but I have made many other bonehead goofs! Regarding riltri's comment, that's why I have a written check list before any initial day's departure with NO exceptions and use pin with a lock.

RE: X Member of Good Sam Roadside Assistance

A fair comparison with other services would be to see how long it took them to respond. Don't they all use the same contractors?

RE: new camper needs help!

Consider getting a professional to inspect the RV you have a great interest in buying. Yes, they cost but you'll have some peace of mind. However, IMO "looking good" usually means the RV has been taken care of by the owner such as roof maintenance, oil changes etc. Trailers are usually less expensive than Cs and As. An appropriate size trailer depends your SUV numbers....look at the driver's door jam. Two most important numbers are max payload and max tow weight. Move along quickly, kids will be back in school very soon!

RE: hooking up a second battery

Your power issue is easily solved…solar.

RE: Looks like electric trucks and RVs may be delayed...

Since a number of California power companies are begging us not to charge the electric vehicles we have now during this heat wave, I’ve lost much of my enthusiasm for EVs.

RE: Mattress Recommendations

Go to a bed store. Try all of them out and give the store a shot at the Internet price.

RE: Mini Swamp Cooler (Arctic Air) - Legit?

If you want a swamp cooler for use in dry places, buy a real one. Not this one.

RE: Mt Pisgah Campground Closed to tents

The lack of bear population management..i.e. hunting…is the problem. Land can carry only so many. Management by cuteness doesn’t work.

RE: Air bags for a smoother ride.

I too agree with Cummings.

RE: F250 or F350 to Haul a 5th Wheel???

Not all 250s are equal. Same with 350s. But at a max 17000 pounds, no question…350.

RE: Long Range Two Way Radio

Land said it…remember it’s line of sight cheap to expensive.

RE: 20' KeyStone Hideout Mach15 dripping inside...

Remember that “road time” and “sit time” are about equal for leaks.

RE: Watts needed

Nothing better electrically than glancing at the controller or remote at 11 a.m. and seeing “batteries 100%.” I don’t know either but prefer to base watts on total battery amp hours. The item I need to remember is to exercise the generator.

RE: Watts needed

One to two watts per battery amp hour is the standard but it depends on where you are (up North, two) and whether you like campsites with lots of shade during the day. I’m currently 240 battery amp hours and 300 solar watts. Don’t cheap out on wire or the controller…then you can easily add another panel if needed.

RE: Tail light Sealant

I would (and do) follow the manufacturer’s recommendation…DICOR.

Not me but I’m happy with the 30 model.
