RE: Mach 15 a/c not cooling well

I've got a a/c guy coming out next week to check everything over. If this is normal it's not right. by 1030am is is pushing 80 degrees in the trailer today it got up to 88 with the outside heat index of 106 the actual air temperature was 98. The actual vent temperature is around 73 degrees.

RE: Mach 15 a/c not cooling well

It is not the most expensive model out there but it is a keystone hideout 338lhs 2 slides. A rear slide in a separate bunkhouse bedroom, and a living kitchen slide. It is wired for a second a/c but our budget won't allow at this time.

RE: Mach 15 a/c not cooling well

Well thanks everyone this is what I was afraid of. I feel it should be able to cool off a relatively small area, but the vent temp is too high. I guess the a/c being on the roof in direct sunlight is bad.. Unfortunately we are full timers with little say on shade & the future move isn't looking any better either.. Looks like we will check out the slide toppers to see, what they can offer. Thanks

RE: Mach 15 a/c not cooling well

Wow this really suck then. I figured something had to be a miss somewhere. I have a 9k btu portable in the rear door sealed bedroom & it keeps it cool in there.. of course it probably less than 70 square foot tho lol. I was actually looking at a mini split, much more efficient but would take a hit on resale value & have to modify things... We are full timers and don't expect this tt to last all that long even tho it is brand new 2020 model.

RE: Mach 15 a/c not cooling well

Under your conditions, 81 deg. actually seems about right for a 15k. What is the temp. of the air coming out of the vents? Open the bedroom door and let the two ACs work together. Turn on the vent fan in the bathroom. I don't see how that is 'normal' we get sticky skin and sweat just sitting still. A cool breeze in the shade might actually feel better

Mach 15 a/c not cooling well

I have a 2020 travel trailer with a coleman mach 15 in a 33ft travel trailer, with 2 bedrooms. In the back bedroom I have a portable a/c with the door shut, that room is no concern to me other than it would be a no go without it in the texas sun. The 15k btu coleman mach 15 only task is to cool the living quarters living kitchen etc. we keep the other bedroom door closed. When the sun is out & with a heat index of 94-95+ the best the a/c can do is about 81 degrees. At night it will freeze you out but during the heat of the day warmish air out of any of the ports including the dump vents. It doesnt' act 'froze' up either... We keep the filter clean. I was thinking either the wall t-stat is faulty or possible the freeze switch is faulty shutting off the compressor.. What are your thoughts?

RE: 2020 Keystone Hideout. Safe to unhook battery? full timers

Anyone know where the converter might be on this hideout 338?

RE: 2020 Keystone Hideout. Safe to unhook battery? full timers

I have a heat detection laser guided gun, everything & I mean everything in the breaker box was 82 degrees EXCEPT the a/c breaker which was 92 degrees keep in mind the a/c has been running most of the day due to it being almost 90 degrees here in Texas. I called a certified electrician he said it could possibly be doing that because the trailer is a 2020 & has been set up for less than 3 weeks it could just be a 'new' smell.

RE: 2020 Keystone Hideout. Safe to unhook battery? full timers

Did the furnace work after you replaced the thermostat? I never checked it do to it being blazing hot last night.

2020 Keystone Hideout. Safe to unhook battery? full timers

Is it safe or doable to unhook the battery so it doesnt overcharge? I recently last night pulled the furnace fuse & turned off the a/c breaker & replaced the thermostat with a digital one. Now I have a faint electrical odor coming from the breaker/fuse box & cabinet right above it. Please advise. EDIT just checked battery water level & it is good.

RE: Hideout 338lhs the grey back tank wont drain

It appears the grey/black is together... There are 2 levers, one marked grey and the other marked black. my sink was backed up but now after dumping the black its not.. also alot of pure water came out of the one labeled black

Hideout 338lhs the grey back tank wont drain

My trailer is at a slightly off level by an inch or 2 towards the rear. I just tried to drain my grey water tank & no go, a tad bit like 3 cups of water came out the shoot but that was all. There is a skinnier valve/line marked grey & one marked black which is bigger pipe/valve in diameter. Keep in mind we just had this 2020 trailer set up 2 weekends ago & have never had to drain it until now.

Well we are almost full timers & the bunkhouse room

Well we are almost full timers & the bunkhouse room with house doors. We are in texas & that back room gets pretty hot even with todays high of only 87. I have a portable AC but I'm fairly certain the window exhaust attachements are all for square frame windows, which we have rounded corners.. What is the best method to tackle a window exhaust port for a portable ac in an rv? A quick search on amazon/ebay & google are slim pickens for ideas.

Battery maintenance questions

We have had our rv set up since last weekend, the lady who initially did the walk thru told us we need to be keeping an eye on the liquid inside the battery weekly, she said it could dry out and start a fire if we didn't check it weekly.... Is this statement mostly true? and could you add some info to that?

RE: We were shocked to learn our newly purchased TT

Why? Why do you want a electric water heater so badly? Just curious. I get why you would want a gas heater if it was only electric because then you really can't boondock too easy. For 40 years my parents and my trailers have had only gas HWH's. About 5 years ago I bought my first trailer with a gas/electric water heater. So in 5 years I don't think I have turned it on electric. Maybe once to test it out? Like I said, just curious. Because the propane dealer is too far away from where our mostly stationary trailer will be. We also only have 20lb tanks.

Water tank & city water questions

So we took delivery of our trailer over the weekend & going to go get a drinking water hose today. I have a question right now without any external water hooked up the faucets still work, but there was a warning sign about anti-freeze & said to flush lines before use. When I hook up the city water port with a drinking water hose, what is my next step? in order so we dont end up drinking the antifreeze.?

RE: We were shocked to learn our newly purchased TT

Well it is indeed gas only. I have trailer in my possession as of friday. Had we had known that when we initially looked at it (didn't think to ask) would have haggled them on a deal to include electric one.

RE: Thoughts on the 'need' factor of a main line surge protector

I will get this: Progressive Industries SSP-50XL I can't afford a full flegged flagship surge protector so I'm hoping this will do.
