RE: Cleaning shower with grey/white "water spots".

Try some Gel Gloss, I have used it to clean black streaks off aluminum coaches, we now use it to keep our shower water spot free. You can find it at Ace Hardware or other home improvement places.

RE: New F350 Tremor with a SB Camper

What the dealer says they can order and what Ford will actually build are two different things. The 2020 order guide states the following-specifically "Not Available With": CAMPER PACKAGE (471) Availability: ? Optional on XL, XLT, Lariat and King Ranch®, Platinum (DRW) Not available with: ? 20" Wheels and Tires ? Pickup Box Delete (66D) ? Heavy-Service Front Suspension Package (67H) ?Tremor Off-Road Package (17Y) Maybe you get lucky and it slips thru, but I wouldn't bet the farm on it.

RE: New F350 Tremor with a SB Camper

Below is a pic of a F350 Diesel Tremor door tag. Contrast it to my truck (F350 Diesel) which has 3,840 on the rear axle with a 5th hitch & 30 Ga of fuel in aux in bed tank, so deduct a few pounds for actual empty bed axle weight. Also, FWIT, I had a Raptor and it was soft and squishy, I drove the Tremor, it is not soft and squishy like a Raptor, it is a bit softer than the F350 I ended up with. End result, after comparing door tags the Tremor has less capacity than a similarly equipped F-350. https://i.imgur.com/6Zrnbmxl.jpg

RE: Roof Air Conditioner removal

I have used Dutch's ladder method a couple of times, worked well.

RE: When a sale is not a sale

I am sorry to hear of your loss and having to deal with all of this. This person is an uncommitted buyer. He "thinks" he wants to buy a motorhome, but he can't bring himself to complete the process. Hence the 5 other coaches he has had inspected & all the issues he came up with your delivery. In short a perpetual shopper. Walk away as there will be some sort of "issue" at the credit union and he wont complete the loan. I would try to find a dealer that would sell the coach on consignment, you will get less, but you won't have to deal with all the issues that large transactions like this bring.

RE: My very own 'broken bumper' story...why didn't I listen?

Aside from the interior rust issue, a good part of this argument is because bumper quality varies wildly. Some bumpers are just better metal & heavier gauge- This is why sometimes it works, sometimes not. End result, unless one knows the gauge /quality/ condition of their bumper don't depend on it to support a load.

RE: Propane Tank Vacuum Purge

If liquid propane is put in the tank without first purging the tank, the concern is that the moisture in the air will instantly freeze to the sides of the tank & you really don't want moisture in the tank. You want to get all of the moisture laden air out of the tank. This can be done either with vacuum or several rounds of vapor & vent. I don't know why the tank mfg. said to use vacuum purge. Is it possible that the sticker said the tank had been vacuum purged?

RE: I Hope This Doesn't Get Taken Down Right Away

I was 6, 1st grade. I remember school was closed and we were sent home. I didn't understand the seriousness of the news until I got home.

RE: Garmin GPS

We have a Garmin RV 770, and while it's handy, I don't trust it 100%. Sometimes it decides to just randomly change the route. It will also revise a route I prepared on my computer then loaded in the GPS, so that's something else to watch for. As already recommended, always have a paper map / phone with mapping and a general idea of how to get where you are going.

RE: Finally took delivery!

Congratulations, yes by the third rig one usually has a very good idea of what they want, good that you were able to get it.

RE: Tire Valve Stem Cracking

I had a tire failure this last summer (1 yr old GY tires), after looking at the result I noticed the valve stem was gone. I have seen a lot of tire failures in my time (mine and others) and this is the first where the rubber stem was missing. End result, when I replaced the blown tire, the other 4 (included spare) got metal stems.

RE: Toy Hauler legend has passed

When I was in the industry I met Mark a couple of times. He had a lot of good ideas and he did make the toy hauler a reality. As already been said, him and his company got caught by the economic times, which was unfortunate. The FS2600 we had served us well. RIP Mark.

RE: On the road breakdown stories..

Years ago heading south pulling our toy hauler. We were about 40 min out when both the DW and I heard something- so I stopped. found the RT RE tire blown, no other damage. Switched the tire, continued on to the next big town, bought a replacement tire, headed out. About 3 hours later the people in a car passing us were gesturing and pointing- yep another tire. This time Left FT, installed spare, found a used tire from a literal side of the road tire shop- continued on. When we got to our destination, I found a tire store and replaced all 4. Since then, I replace trailer tires when they are 3 years old. Haven't had a series of tire failures like that since.

RE: Colors of trucks!

After having several white trucks (4), I grew tired of "that's original, went with the company truck color" comments. Since then they have been grey (2) black (3) Newest is green. I will admit that white is cooler in the summer, hides dirt and desert pin striping though.

RE: Your "favorite" BBQ Grill, suggestions

Weber Q, full size. works great. Good thing about Weber is parts are available (as if you will ever need them). Easy to bypass regulator to use with fiver LP.

RE: Purchasing used...how to know if it is stolen or not?

According to my wife a former banker, there may be a paper trail for non registered/non titled campers out there, depending on how it was bought. Cash deals- it's just personal property. If it was sold with a secured loan the camper would have a UCC lien that is then filed with the state (this is from a few years ago, when we lived in CA). Of course the lender just could have made it an unsecured personal loan, in which case its pretty much the same as cash.
