RE: 2022 Trip Planning- Advice for Newbies

Also think about how you will charge your batteries, I like solar but a generator also works.

RE: this is why

You could use a battery wrap heater on a car battery in that kind of weather. I wouldn't be getting lithium battery's either, we do cold camping here in Colorado and my battery's stay on the camper tongue of the trailer year round.

RE: 2003 Lance 843 rear bumper

I think finding a 18 year old bumper will be hard to do. I would have a welding shop make one.

RE: Bought a second truck.

I used to have a 1969 F-250 with a 390 engine and a 4 barrel carb, that truck was a beast only got about 6 to 10 miles a gallon but the sheet metal was strong. You have a great truck.

RE: Will camper fit?

Look at a Lance 825 that is what I had on my Ford F 250 and it was perfect weight wise.

RE: Potential Pop-Up TC.....Thoughts on a Hallmark Guanella?

You could buy a new palomino pop up for the same price. Just a idea.

RE: Replacement Water Pump

I carry a extra water pump and the fittings to replace it. We never go to places that have hook ups. And on some trips we dump the black tank when we get home at the local treatment place. So having a extra pump is good insurance.

RE: Best Four Season Travel Trailer

We bought a Outdoors Rv for a couple of reasons they have a solid frame with shocks, a 80 gallon water tank, 2 inch side walls and a curved roof. But also remember they are heavy you need a 3 quarter ton truck to pull them.

RE: Real life solar results

We have 270 watts of solar with 2 group 27 AGM batteries, so far it has worked out really well. Just got back from a 7 day trip to the Tetons and never used the generator.

Frig vent

I just want to tell everyone about a problem with my frig that I had to fix before a trip we had planned. The freezer worked great but the frig would only cool to 60 degrees. So I went on the roof to see if the top of the frig had a blocked vent what I found was some foil tape that was used to tape outside speaker wires had fell off on to the chimney of the frig. I had to also cut away the extra roofing that was starting to block part of the air flow. After that the frig worked great. Happy Camping.

RE: Denver area in Winter??

I live in Broomfield, the end of December is the coldest mornings of the year it will get to about 0 degrees or a little colder. Dealing with water pipes will not be fun.

RE: 2016 flagstaff micro-lite propane fridge

Take $1500.00 of the asking price just in case the frig is shot.

RE: solar question

RE: Airstreams and compressor fridges?

I would put the ac,dc frig in and just put a nice solar and battery setup in the camper. Also carry a generator for backup.

RE: Lance lite 845

They are good campers but its how it was maintained and stored. I know a guy with a 1999 lance 836 that is in great shape, and he camps all the time.

RE: Lance lite 845

Check the back parts that hang down below the trucks wheels. Check the tie down brackets and jack brackets and go to youtube and see how they repair the wood frame campers.

RE: Lance lite 845

Really do a good inspection of the roof and side walls, I would be worried about dry rot.
