Bed mat and cutting out for factory bed holes?

Ordered the new 3500 with the factory puck system in the bed. Now I did not get the factory spray in bed liner. Going to put the rubber bed mat in when it makes it here. But would like to cut around all 5 circle covers in the bed. Figure if I cut the new mat to fit those parts. That would allow me to use the 5th wheel frame and the goose neck ball. While still having the mat in place. Anyone find a easy way to lay out mat to fit these and cut the mat? I'm thinking hole-saw and lay the mat down with the covers off the puck sections. Then find the center of those holes. Cut out big enough for the whole cover on each. Will be spraying the white Bed Liner on the sides of the bed. Along with the tailgate next spring/Summer. But want the floor to only have the bed mat. Sorry for such a long winded question. But these days I'm bad about this. Pete

RE: 3500 CC Running boards?

Got the Torklifts mounted on the truck Saturday. Looking at them, not sure why the lady at Torklift would think I could not have used the factory steps. She told me these mounted on the same frame mount as the steps. Come to find out the steps on the 2019-2022 at least. Only mount to the pinch welds. Not the round cab mounts like she was telling me. Now the Torklifts did use the cab mounts. Sad part of the install. Parking Brake cable was the hardest part of the whole install. But the 5" long 3/4 socket and threw socket in the size to fit the nut. make it a breeze to even back off the adjustment of the cable. Might get to use the Fast Guns and Torklifts next week. Not sure but will know more Monday.

RE: 3500 CC Running boards?

Thanks Guys, got back home with the truck today. 555 miles on it as of now. Sad, I'm 6ft1" and tough getting in and out of this truck. Guess theres more people wanting trucks Tall. Then just a normal truck, thats easy to get into. So far love the truck, other then getting in and out. But ordering side steps tomorrow for it. I felt that cab length would work. But had one person at Torque lift tell me running board-Side step would not work. As they bolted in the same spot as the Tie down Brackets. Feel she was off in left field. Her wires were crossed and no ideal what was what. I can say, a 22 ram 3500 with factory 50 gallon fuel tank. With showing 1/8th tank of fuel. Held 46 gallons of fuel today. Fuel light if it has one did not come on. But still showed I had 79 miles left to empty.

RE: 3500 CC Running boards?

Sorry but was asking about Running boards/ side steps for the truck. Thus torklift tie downs and Crew Cab 3500. Not camper steps, as for now have the Horse. Just need the side steps for it. Then make sure there going to not be in the way of the Frame Mounted tie downs.

3500 CC Running boards?

What running boards have been found to work on a 3500 crew cab? I have the Torklift frame mounted tie downs. Truck will be picked up next week. I did not get steps on it. Because of reading where some would not work. If you used Torklifts. I would like to have the ones that stop of the rear door. Any ideals would for sure help out. Pete

RE: Vin vs door sticker

Just input the vin into this and see what it shows.

RE: Tow Dolly Woe

The whole "It's illegal" discussion is irrelevant here, because this is for a car dolly, not a commercial trailer, and not in BC. If the OP is dragged down a boat dock by his car, something is very very wrong. Used to get dragged down the ramp 3 or 4 times per day. But then again with a Yacht. Plus we always stopped when the boat hit the water. This was with a class 8 single axle semi also.

RE: Does the State of TN title truck campers?

What does "As long as we did not need a title" mean, though? Shouldn't the TN authorities be the one to tell you if you need a title? If it were up to me I would not "need" a tile on anything. Lots of $$$ saved. What does "As long as we did not need a title" mean, though? Thats easy to answer, If you have a loan, that company 99% of the time. Wants a Title, thus you have to go through the DMV. They will take your $$ for the Tag and Title. Plus all Taxes due at that time. But if you pay cash, have no loan on that camper. You can skip that part. Does that answer your question to that What Does?

RE: Does the State of TN title truck campers?

I was told, if I needed a Title. I had to pay Tn taxes and get a Tag. But if I did not need a Title. I did not need to do anything for a Truck camper. That was on our 2006 Okanagan. That we paid cash for back then. Bought in Denver Co, so nothing to do in Tn. Fast Forward to last week. We were going to look at a 2018 used truck camper. Asked the same Question, was told again. As long as we did not need a Title. We did not need to come in. That a Bill of sale and Cert of built was all that I would need. Even tough the truck camper had a Tx Title.

RE: Heavy duty hitch extension??

RE: A add-on for the almost blind old guy

It’s amazing the effort people will go to avoid learning how to look in their mirrors! You really don’t need all this junk. If you would just pull way out ahead of the camper, several truck-lengths, get square and back under it while sighting down the jack legs on both sides, making them both the same, you’d slide right under it square and straight every time with ease. Using a roller to force it into position when it isn’t is gonna be stressful to the jack mounts. I wouldn’t use this thing. Guy we used to camp with. Destroyed 2 sets of jacks doing the roller deal. As he would move the camper at times 3 or 4" sideways. I told him that after the first set. After he messed up the second set. I think he learned his lesson. Roller is a good ideal, if your right to start with. But if you use them to move the camper over. Something has to give. Weak point is jacking mounting points. Or the jack legs there self.

RE: Where do you put your levels?

Man this means I have to level again when we find a TC? Been spoiled by the auto level on the 5th wheel. unhook hit auto level and hook up the power and water. By then its level and its fishing time.

RE: Okanagan truck camper

Its been a few years. But if you will post pictures of the valves I think I might be able to walk you though those. You have valves on the hot water heater lines. Those allow you to bypass the water heater. Then some of the others allow you to pump antifreeze into the lines. I used compressed air to blow out the lines. Then pumped antifreeze into them also. Took care of any low spots that might hold liquids. We had a 811-SL from new in 06 to 2012.

RE: Cybertruck RV prototype pictures released

Come on guys, the cyber truck is not Ugly. Now it may well be Fugly as can be. But we know there will be people paying $25K above the asking price. To get that truck. But you know I remember the first day I got to see the new Dodge truck. With the Cummins, Man that truck to me was ugly as could be. But after being around them for a few months. It grew on me and liked the flip up grill with the hood.

RE: 5er accidents

Hard for these people today. They run out and buy a big RV. Never been in anything other then there normal car. But expect that truck and camper to be just like that car. Speeding everywhere, cutting off people. Plus just dumb as a box of rocks. When Common Sense should be applied. Had a half ton truck with 35ft 5th wheel. Pass me going down a 6% grade last week. Left lane running 65+ in a 45 MPH speed limit. 3 miles down the road, he was on the shoulder with brakes smoking. Kid may have been 20 years old. Big lift on the 4x4. Guess he found out, it will pull it. But the Woe part not so good.

RE: New truck and TC.

I never did bedliner on my F350. Even camper rub some paint on front wall at one time, I just got rattle can and touched it up. Factory bed mat is excelent. Had root canal done last week. Less than 1 hr in & out. The doctor work on me for about 1/2 hr and it was all painless Still remember over 4 hr on the chair for previous root canal, when dentist still had film x-rays. Our Dentists still use the film. Old man is about to retire. His son and his wife is taking over. There changing a lot of old stuff to new. So we may get the good stuff by the time I'm dead and gone. Last Root Canal for me was only 45 minutes. Had 2 in my life, and ever been much to them. But then again I have had 3 filling done without any shots or anything. So pain is not bad for me 99% of the time. Unless its at a dealers lot.

RE: New truck and TC.

I have 2019 cummins 3500 dually, factory air, and bigfoot 10.4. Im a fulltimer and somehow loaded up to almost 14k pounds. I dont notice the air, i notice the shocks seem very overwhelmed on bumpy dirt roads when crawling along at 5mph. Careful, factory air will only take so much weight before it spits out a warning message, and im not sure what the computer will do at that point. Thanks for the info. Truck was ordered yesterday Sept 13th. Sure glad that is over, would rather have a root canal then mess with truck dealer. Funny part the one I went with. Had only been though emails until the deal was final. Then talked on the phone. Now figure by spring time the truck should be here. No rush, as gives us more time to find the right camper. Plus if I'm in no rush the truck may get in a rush. Will be taking a trip to get the truck when its in. Also first time to buy a days ride from home. But local dealers all want full MSRP for even an ordered unit. I did go with the a factory 50 gallon fuel tank. Standard Cummins and Trans. Almost loaded Big Horn in White. I did not get the spray in bed liner. Last 3 trucks, waited until I was ready to sell. Then new Bed spray in bed liner. So far never an issue with just a bed mat.

RE: new topic

Seen the fix today, single wheel crew cab 3/4 ton Chevy. Big double slide camper. Pulling 2 boats behind it. This was East of Mussel Shoals AL. Going the other way. Was he legal with that set of long horns on the hood?

RE: Insurance!

I know most here will not remove there TC when camping. But we 95% of the time set the TC off the truck. As we used the truck to put the boat in. I had insurance on the TC for that reason. As I was told when it was off the truck. It was not covered? Also had 3 camp grounds years ago. I had to show proof of insurance to take it off the truck. Those camp grounds had issues with someone dropping a TC and never returning for it. One was still sitting on the back site. Caught fire inside and they just left without taking the camper. Being the TC had no tag and the Vin tag was ripped off. It was now the campgrounds issue. Sad that someone would do that.
