RE: Rocky Point Bike Rally

This would be the only type rally I would attend. I'm a Canadian Army vet and a retired Firefighter. I don't like country western music but I love this one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NWPMF2ax8TA

RE: genny conundrum

I owned a Honda 3000 genny. I used to haul it in the back of my truck. It was a beast to lift it up into the bed, that`s for sure. Then I got a toy hauler 5er and put the genny on a cart and rolled it in and out of the garage. Got rid of that toy hauler and got a regular 5er. Gave the 3ooo to my oldest son and bought 2 Hondas with the parallel kit. They go into the bed of my truck and are put inside a zip up type large bag that hold 2 5 gallon containers of gas and other things. Definitely easier for this 75 year old to handle. By the way, my other 2 kids(adults) have Honda 3000s for their power needs. We all boondock a lot. My 2 gennys are put at least 25 feet away from the back of the 5er and I run a rope between 2 trees and then put a plastic tarp up just high enough so I can walk in bent over to fill the gennys with gas when needed and keep the weather off of them. My 45 cents worth. Stay safe.

RE: Need Generator Help for New Sabre 36BHQ Owners....

I have a 5er and my 2 Hondas are hooked up away from the trailer. I was a Fire Fighter for 35 years and and I certainly wouldn't want to hear about Carbon Monoxide getting into the trailer because it was sitting under the front end of the trailer. In my opinion extend the umblical cord away from the trailer and then plug into the gennys. You can make a tent for the gennys, using plastic tarps, to protect them from the weather. Be safe.

RE: Ontario: Motorhome yellow sticker exemption?

There are many tractors that have been reclassified as motorhomes. Go to this page and you can ask all the questions you want. There are a few people from Ontario on this site also. https://www.rvnetwork.com/forum/32-hdt/

RE: toilet bowl water

I just cleaned mine 2 days ago and went to the trailer yesterday to see if the anti freeze stayed in the bowl. It did and I'm happy again. I used a latex glove and some paper towel to clean the seal and bowl up. I then held the valve open and ran my fingers around the underside of the opening with scuba diver lube. When I flush I try to make sure that the blade is seated properly by letting the blade slam from the open position. The rubber around the opening has to be cleaned every once in a while with a toilet bowl brush.

RE: WASH WAX ALL ON FIVER; TIPS?

Received my pole kit yesterday minus the pole which is supposed to come today. I've used wash wax all on my truck for a while now and it does a great job. As I get older, I have decided to try the pole kit for my 5er. I usually use a ladder to wash and wax the 5er.

RE: Can a generator get rained on?

I tie a rope between 2 trees and then put a tarp over the rope. Tie the tarp down and as they say "voila", you have a tent for the gennys. Just make sure the tarp is low enough on each side to protect the gennys. My 2 Hondas like their own wee apartment.

RE: Banff, Lake Louise and Jasper, Alberta

Look up Waterton Lakes National Park. Not as many people you have to elbow your way around.Cameron Lake rivals Lake Louise in our opinion. Red Rock Canyon is great also. You can Hike around the lake area as well as the canyon. There is all kinds of wildlife if you take the time to look for it. There are other hiking trails if you do your homework to find them on the web site. From the park you can travel into BC on a day trip. The scenery is absolutely beautiful and you are right in the mountains. Take a ride on the boat that goes from Waterton town site into Montana and back. The Townsite campground has full hookups and that's what we have used. For fun I looked up reservation at the townsite campground last week and to my surprise I found a lot of sites were available for the times that I put in. Usually the dates that we would be there when going out west. I say odd because those sites are usually gone within minutes of the park opening up the reservation site for the season and that is in January. Just another place that you might be interested in touring. Check it out. We have traveled to Alberta many times over the last 41 years or so and we've stayed in full hook up places from southern Alberta to north of Edmonton, to Jasper, Banff, etc and boondocked in the Rockies for up to 3 weeks with the rest of our family who live out there. Just make darn sure that the provinces you have to travel through and the campgrounds on the way there are open to"outsiders". We cancelled out of going out west last season because of COVID and also here in Ontario at the Pinery for the same reason. We do have a site booked at the Pinery for May. Good luck and have fun if you are able to go.

RE: Genset carb upkeep:  drain it and/or exercise it? Both?

I owned a 4000 W Onan. I always used Stabil in the gas. When it was done for the season I would drain the carb and forget it until the next camping season came around. Now I have 2 Honda 2000s that I can parallel run if needed. I still use Stabil and I drain the carbs at camping season end, fill the gas tanks, put the covers on them until next camping season then I drain the oil and start them up. Been doing this for years. No exercising in the off season. Works for me.
