RE: Consumer Cellular advice

Bob,
I get a number of bogus calls as you mentioned plus those from relatives & friends and have not been charged for any of them as long as I we don't go over the plan's allowance. Don't know where you heard that.

RE: Consumer Cellular advice

We have also had good results with Consumer Cellular.
My wife has been with them for 10 years and I switched from Verizon about 3 years ago. The only exception has been in Nebraska where phone calls and text work okay but in many areas we cannot access data. We have to be in a good size town/city or wifi in a campground.

RE: Cleaning Water Jugs

1 oz of bleach to 6 gallons water. Leave sit for a hour, then flush.
Just what I have done for years.

RE: Tire exploded in Florida

For the same reason you never put a battery directly on a concrete floor. :)
That has been discredited by many sources.Hence the smiley face.

Couple of issues and under warranty, time to trust the dealership, IMO.

RE: GY Endurance discontinued in my size. What tires next?

I recommend Carlisle Radial Trail HD ST185/80R13-D
https://www.carlislebrandtires.com/our-products/product-detail/radial-trail-hd/
Note the speed rating to 81 mph. Not that anyone should tow that fast ;)
My recommendation also. I have them on 2 trailers are they are performing fine.

RE: Trailer Brakes

After doing the procedure that they recommended, I noticed now that my drivers side wheel on the trailer is not in line with the trailer anymore. It's really towed out bad. Even my wife noticed it.
I can't see how applying the trailer brakes would bend a spindle.
If that was a true scenario, you'd hear about a lot more bent axles.
Get a Dexter axle.
Take the trailer to a commercial trailer repair shop and they should be able to straighten the axle and align both. I have had that done on 2 trailers.

RE: GY Endurance or Carlisle Radial Trail HD

Will begin our second year on the Carlisle HD tire and am pleased so far. They have a very stout sidewall and a 3420 rating for an E rated tire which is higher then prior E tires I have had. No issues to date.

RE: Dumb mistake

Any auto repair shop will have a place where they safely dispose of used oil etc. I'm sure one of them could take care of it for you.
Best solution IMO or a parts store.

RE: Route 160 in Colorado

The route travels over Wolf Creek Pass which does have switchbacks on the west side. But this road has been improved a lot over the years and the pass is pretty easy to navigate IMO. I have towed doubles (5th wheel/ boat) over it a few times and trailers many times.

RE: Trouble finding alcohol free RV antifreeze this season?

I never checked to see which I get, they have all worked like they should so I don't really care. Been doing it for 10 years with no issues, so it all seems to work okay.
X2 been doing this for over 30 years.

RE: RVs over 10 years old are valueless

Visit state parks, city parks, or federal campgrounds. Or as PartyOf Five stated talk to management at your campground about their policy. Maybe when they see your rig their will change their mind.
Note: our rig is 17 years and I have never been denied entrance to a park.

I am using an H24 receiver with an 18" Wingard round antenna and am still getting all of the channels I want to watch. SD is fine for us.

RE: Flying J frustrations - Alternatives?

If I'm just purchasing fuel, I refuse to go inside to pay. If I can't pay at the pump I'll go elsewhere.
After all, it's not the 1970's anymore. Pay at the pump should be at every pump, regardless where, without exception.

RE: Question on 5th wheel brakes

I do not believe that drum brakes have much stopping action in reverse do to the design. And as mentioned, traveling a few feet wouldn't engage them much.Disc brakes could be stronger.

Great shock, have had mine for 5 years and truck rides great. I also replaced the steering stabilizer with a Bilstein and steering really improved.
