RE: has anyone stayed at:

I haven't stayed at the resort, but had a great experience at Cheyenne Mountain State Park in Colorado Springs.
I've stayed there a few times. Great place.

RE: How fast do the gray and black tanks fill

The tank capacities listed in the OP are close to the ones in my RV. As others have said, there is a lot of factors that figure in as to when the tanks will be full. We are experts at taking navy showers. We also almost never do dishes, preferring to use paper plates and such. We can usually get about 4-5 days before having to dump our gray and black tanks.

RE: Automatic Changeover Regulator not changing over

Replaced the old regulator valve out with a new one and I still have the same problem! I've changed out everything but the hose that runs from the street side to the curb side. You know the one that runs through the front compartment where the electric jacks are.

I refuse to book an RV spot from an outfit that has such a strict no refund policy.

RE: Progressive Industries EMS and Powerline frequency error

For any interconnection (Western Grid, Eastern Grid, ERCOT Grid etc.) the frequency is global. That is to say the frequency is the same throughout each interconnection. In the Western Grid, for example, a control center in New Mexico will read the same frequency as a control center in Washington State. There are no low frequency areas or high frequency areas within an interconnection. If there is a system disturbance, like a sudden loss of load or generation, there will be what is called a frequency excursion. Rarely, if ever, will the excursion be severe enough to cause damage to the customer's equipment. The tripping and separation schemes in an interconnection won't allow it.
So I said all that to explain my observation that the frequency parameter in an EMS is mostly superfluous. The frequency will either be acceptable or it will be zero. The power is either there with an acceptable frequency or it's not there and you are in the dark. I realize this post doesn't answer any thing in the OP, but I wanted to throw it out there for the edification of our forum members.

RE: Lost Power to Landing Gear and Slides

Sometimes manufacturers sneak in an inline fuse in the oddest places. By inline fuse I mean one that is spliced in somewhere along the run of a wire, and no where near the fuse box. I've seen them tucked out of sight. Just spitballing here...

RE: Air conditioning article

For a certain part of a niche market, namely those with small RVs and a penchant for boondocking, this trend is a game changer. I'm looking forward to how this develops.

RE: Hot water in new 5er Montana

There is no part of a Montana trailer hot water system that is specific to, or proprietary of, the Montana brand or it's parent company. Dollars to doughnuts, it's either a Suburban or an Atwood.

RE: Roof reseal options

Thanks guys. I'm also considering calling some "mobile" RV repair guys and asking for estimates/bids. I would think they'd charge less than a shop but would still have knowledge of the do's and don't in a reseal job.

Roof reseal options

My RV is 7 years old and could use to have a complete caulking job on the roof for the front cap, back seam, and all vents, antenna, and the bathroom skylight. I've done a complete job before on my first RV, but that was over 20 years ago. Physically, there is no way I want to attempt that now. Here is where I'm going with this: I cringe to think of the cost of this if I took it to a dealer shop and had an RV tech do it and was charged the going per hour rate. Most shops are $130.00/hour and up. Don't get me wrong here. Overall, a certified RV tech is worth every penny he earns. There is a very wide range of expertise they must possess. But not all RV work is complicated and/or technical. Some jobs are simple, but labor intensive.
Here is my question. Are there companies or outfits that specialize in resealing an RV that charge rates that are somewhat commensurate with the simplicity of the job?
Thanks.

RE: Automatic Changeover Regulator not changing over

Original OP here with a few updates. I changed the pigtail on the street-side. Problem still there. I changed the small, red, regulator in the street-side bay. Problem still there. I will replace the main, curb-side, auto-changeover regulator next.
"I told ya so's" are in order here from some in this thread.
Here is my lessons learned:
1) Apparently many techs say it's a good idea to change your main regulator out every 7 years or so. Mine is 7 years old. For that reason alone I should have disregarded what my troubleshooting efforts were telling me and just replaced it.
2) Because I was never able to see green flags from the street-side cylinder I assumed that the gas was not making it to the curb-side regulator (which is why I changed out the parts I did). Well guess what? That's one of the symptoms of a bad regulator.
Anyway, I'm out a few bucks and time, which I have an abundance of. I'll post back after I replace the regulator. Again, thanks for the replies.

RE: ALDE heating and water heating system. Comments welcome.

I've been lurking on the AirStream forum on a thread called "Much Ado About ALDE". It's over 50 pages long. Lots of good info there. I get the impression that the system generally works reliably, but if there are problems the average American user, because of the novelty, can't readily address the problems on his/her own. My impression is the system seems a bit quirky. It just a whole new ball game. I do think it's the coming future though.

RE: Thoughts on a weird/unique way to empty holding tanks.

It would probably be better to just logistically plan your camping trip to allow for trips to a proper dump station just like the rest of us.
