RE: KOA Installing EV Chargers

Not surprising. Aside from EVs being towed behind motorhomes, Rivian and Tesla are ramping up to produce all-electric pickups in sizable quantities, and Ford and GM both have electric variants. There are even a few folks towing trailers with all-electric SUVs. From what I read, Tesla is not flat towable.

RE: Air & Space Museum in DC to Close

The Dulles museum is worth the trip just to see the Enola Gay.

RE: Jake Braking A 5er Down Long Steep Incline

I tow in tow mode and use cruise control all the time with the exhaust brake engaged. The OP has a 2019 F-350, I have a 2018 F-350, my exhaust brake has no auto, it’s either on or off.

RE: Damaged 5er hitch by backing too hard

The OP was right to allow the trailer to be raised by the hitch. What he failed to do is back up to the pin box and get out to check the height is correct. With my levelup system, the hitch height will be different if the trailer has been idle for several weeks.

RE: Memory seats

I have it on my 2018 Lariat and use it every day. It’s on my coupe and my wife’s SUV too.

RE: Best truck for large 5th Wheel

I’m partial to my 2018 F350 DRW FX4. It has 28,237 miles as of today. All but 5,300 miles have been towing our 3350 LSX Cardinal fiver. It has had the normal services but no warranty problems yet.

RE: Question about unit stabilization

You might find the blocks under leg pads will help if the level jacks are not unloading the suspension. Ours on self leveling unloads the springs and supports most all of the weight of the trailer thus no movement

RE: FIRST TIME BUYER LOOKING FOR OPINION ON CERTAIN MODELS

KZ makes a god product but you are all over the spectrum as to tow weight. You can narrow any of your choices by deciding what tow vehicle you will be comfortable with or what you presently own, especially since you only plan to move every 6 months.

RE: Windshield gasket leak

We had a 2000 Newmar Mountain Aire. Going into a campground where the road went from flat to tilting a few degrees. The next morning I found daylight between the windshield gasket and the fiberglass. Took it to a glass company and they realigned it. About 3 months later, it happened again. I let the next owners figure it out.

RE: Replacing New Trailer King RST+ : Only Option Is Carlisle??

We recently moved from Florida to north Georgia taking almost a year of back and forth travel. I rented 5 different Uhaul trailers and everyone had Carlisle tires installed.

RE: Cricket golf carts

I’ve owned several different “Golf Carts” and the Cricket can’t be classified as a golf cart. Golf Carts are work horses. Electric carts make there way through 9-18 holes then back on the charger until called on again. Up here in the hills, we use gas golf carts that last all day every day tugging Big Ben an Trudy up and down the hills. Crickets while fun to use for short down the street and back jaunts are not Golf Carts.

RE: Needless kaos and carnage on the Beeline highway...

Most law enforcement, etc, no https://i.imgur.com/ysnS6hXl.jpglonger use the word "accident". Instead they use "crash". Because in 95 percent or more of incidents it was not an accident. I am always amazed at how some people drive. Because you're around alot of LEO's and "crashes?" Lol Maybe in your infinite toes, you can tell us exactly what the differentiator is between an "accident" and a "crash." If any traffic law was broken, is it not an accident? If it was caused by someone else, is it not an accident because you can't be sure they didn't do it on purpose? Nevermind, no one actually cares.... But we should start a thread about all the people who drive too slow, too. They cause accidents, I mean crashes, sometimes too. As a matter of fact, most states in the south have now changed all traffic accident reports to crash reports. https://i.imgur.com/ysnS6hXl.jpg

RE: Battery replacement

Most automotive batteries made in America are manufactured by one of two companies: Johnson Controls, Inc. or Exide Technologies. The dominant replacement market brand names, Interstate and DieHard, are both Johnson Controls products, as is the Optima brand. Usually the batteries are the same except for the badging.

RE: Lithium Batteries

$900 for a battery is an outrageous cost if you are not camping off the grid. Then add another $200 for a converter then who knows how much for an install.

RE: Super Duty Tire Wear

My 2018DRW 4wd was fine until this last spring when I noticed outside wear on both front tires. Had front aligned at local Ford dealer but haven’t driven but 200 miles since service.

RE: awning rolling up, arms and supports not aligned

With awning open, push up on roller tube to relieve pressure and slide awning along roller tube to align. Not at the top since it is screwed into place.

RE: Navigation options

you need cell service for phone/messages etc. For NAV all that is needed is GPS coverage as long as the map is already loaded into the device, and the cell phone will get that as will the NAV system even with no cell service. Now traffic info etc. needs cell service as well. FYI, once the destination is entered into the phone and the desired route selected, cell service is no longer needed to receive turn by turn navigation.

RE: RV PARK I75

Carrols, meat market that has a small RV park, and if you stay there, you get a discount to the store. Carrols is in Ashburn, 160 miles south of Atlanta.

RE: Question on 5th wheel brakes

They work by way of a magnet. As you apply the brakes, the magnet try’s to attach to the drum, as the drum rotates, the magnet levers the shoes against the drum. It may take more movement to apply enough force to slide the hitch or even reduce king pin pressure.
