RE: Bad Experience at Little Dealer Service Department

Definitely uncalled for. You need to share the name of the dealership with us.

RE: towing with a Tesla

Regardless of its 'ability' to tow, it's still a pretty lightweight vehicle for the job. I'll take a hard pass on that one.

Hmmmm. I thought this post might have something to do with tow vehicles, or at least RVing in general. Guess I was wrong.

RE: Class A Motorhome Gasser

A 2005 model with 11K indicates it was only "driven" about 600 miles per year, or has it been sitting idle, never even cranked, for a number of years? I'd certainly be sure I had the answer to that question before pursuing that particular coach.

RE: Picking out good camping chairs

I didn't claim that Amazon was always the best price - I simply provided a link to the Coleman chair as the chair I have and prefer and that link happened to be for Amazon.
As for your main point, you didn't actually prove your claim in this case. The Coleman chair at WM is actually 20 percent more expensive than the Coleman chair at Amazon.
I have no need to prove any point, and if I did, I certainly wouldn't cite just one single example. Stick around, and if you'd like I'll let you know how this whole online buying thing works :C Just stating information that might be helpful to others.
Actually all you did was share a personal bias against Amazon. You didn't address the question about camping chairs, you simply latched on to one link to Amazon and claimed it was overpriced for the Coleman chair by citing a cheap knockoff chair at Walmart.
I think everyone is quite capable of doing research to get the best deal, or at least a price they like, on a product. And they can decide if they want to purchase from Walmart, Amazon, Camping World, etc, based on their own personal preferences.
OK, you're right, I'm wrong. Have a lovely day.

RE: Picking out good camping chairs

If you're happy buying new chairs every year or two have at it.
I won't throw away my money on knockoffs any more because my 30+ year old Colemans and my 5 year old Colemans are still looking and working great while my cheap knockoffs lasted maybe two years max.
That I'll do :C
I think my main point was pointing out the misnomer that Amazon is always the best go-to for the lowest price. Far from it.
I purchase equipment and supplies online for my Son's business -- multiple times a day -- and yes, I occasionally buy from Amazon, however I can assure you that for fully 50 - 60% of my purchases, I can find the IDENTICAL item for less money than on Amazon, sometimes substantially less, even including shipping.

RE: Picking out good camping chairs

No. The $7.88 chair is NOT the same. I've had those. The frames are weak and don't hold up to frequent use. The fabric frays quickly.
It has nothing to do with Amazon and everything to do with build quality of the Coleman chair.
And for the record, WM sells the actual Coleman chair for $44.99 - $9 more than Amazon.
I'd still buy the WM chair (although I'd personally not buy any chair of that design), in that if they do wear out that quickly, I could replace it almost 5 times for the price of the Coleman chair, rather the Coleman 'branded' chair (we all know if you go through the Coleman plant you won't find a department where they actually build chairs).

RE: Picking out good camping chairs

I have these Coleman Quad Chairs
I stopped buying recliners, rockers, etc for camping because they were pains to store. The quad chairs fold down and store in my outdoor cabinet at home and can easily get tossed in the back of the suv for trips. I buy the Coleman because they are sturdier than the cheap no name ones.
Basically the same chair (Ozark Trail brand) is currently on sale at WM for $7.88. Take off the Coleman name, don't be fooled thinking you're getting the best price on ANYTHING by buying through Amazon, and your mission will be accomplished for a fraction of the cost.

RE: 2024 Ford Ranger

What a great color in link #1. It's about time.
In this current world of wet-cement gray, baby diaper tan, crayola blah blue, and the (yawning) white, grey, and silver selections (another yawn), this color offering is a welcome relief. Nice goin' Ford!
No one has ever answered this question. What are those muted solid colors called??? I call them "GAWDAWFUL"
My wife is an artist and says they take a basic color and add white to get that look.
I agree. We are plagued with, in my opinion, the worst selection of colors in decades. And don't even get me started on black wheels .... really?

RE: how to find value of used RVs?

Yep Nada RV now JD Power at This Link just put in your make and year and go from there.
This is definitely your best bet. RVTrader sucks when it comes to determining real market value -- you can only see what sellers are 'asking' for their RV's, but never what they actually sold for . . . if they even sold at all.
That being said, I have found RVTrader to be a great way to advertise an RV for sale to reach serious buyers. Provide plenty of good pictures, make your verbiage as complete and detailed as possible, price it fairly, and make it easy for potential buyers to contact you. Spend a few bucks and you'll probably see great results.

RE: Is there any REAL quality out there?

When they start importing RV's made in Japan things will get better just like they did 50 years ago when Japanese cars entered the market.
Until then expect the same old junk and poor service.
You are absolutely correct!

RE: Is there any REAL quality out there?

I agree with staying away from dealers they have ONE THING on there mind, your money. most sales people know very little about what they sell. find a good used unit. monday there flippen bugers, tuesday there selling 3k rv,s.
Yes, dealers are in business to actually make a profit -- just like any other business. No big secret there.
True, many salespeople (in any industry) don't know their product like they should. I spent many years as a sales trainer for the automobile industry, and back then I always cautioned salespeople: Don't let a prospective buyer walk through the door that knows more about your product than you do. Today, the buyer should know at least as much, if not more, about the product than the salesperson. No excuse in this information age for a buyer to walk into any business and have to rely on a salesperson to educate them on a particular product.
