RE: 1157 Style LED Interior Bulb Warm Lighting?

1141 LED is a common interior lamp Won't work in an 1157 socket. Exactly! The numbers describe the physical and electrical aspects of the lamp. You don't put gasoline in a diesel or shampoo in the dishwasher!

RE: EGR Deletes

Around here there's only one shop that will freely work on 'deleted' trucks. Dealers and "EPA compliant" shops will require that you take your vehicle away on a flatbed.

RE: Solution to Trash Left Behind!

Part of the problem with litter is there is no convenient place to dispose it. People dump tires, old mattresses, etc. along seldom traveled roads and other places because municipal dumping places are few and far as well as their charges for dumping are out of reach for many people. In some campgrounds, the "pack it in-pack it out" plan where you are supposed to take all your trash home with you, leaves people without any resource to discard leaky smelly trash they don't want in the passenger seat of their vehicle. Other campgrounds have one central spot for trash disposal, often quite a distance from the campsite. The key word in your comment in "convenient" I don't intend to be mean, but your comment leaves me wondering about you.

RE: Hell's Canyon and region

One of the YouTube crowd just released a video on that. They did several other eastern OR vids as well. https://youtu.be/8TE4GQjGUAw

RE: Battle Born Lithium

If you run your MW off inverter drawing 130 amps for 10 minutes from that 300AH Li 8D, is that "continuous" and so over its 100 amp rating, or is that short enough time to be "peak" at the much higher amp rating, so you would be ok? 100A is likely to low for such a high capacity unit. 2 BB in parallel can produce 200A!

RE: Battle Born Lithium

Considering; I spent under $2K for 315AH and a 75A charger. Prowse is showing how to DIY a 100AH for under $500. One BMS and less case should make the new BB much less expensive. LiFePo has many other benefits than cost, and isn't as expensive as it used to be.

RE: 30’ 5th wheel

Our GD 273MK isn't made anymore but it's 29'11" and works well for us. GD has some similar floor plans or look for a used one.

RE: Watch those glass stove tops.

Deep scratches can do that to some glass.

RE: Mt Rainier - east side

Thanks all for the help. Just in case, I contacted tech support for my planner. They said the routing engine thinks I'm a commercial vehicle and those roads are closed to commercial vehicles. That and some poor photo interpretations on the web led me astray.

RE: Mt Rainier - east side

We're going to camp north and south of the park for a nice long stay. Since we're coming from the east, all those routes became important.

RE: Mt Rainier - east side

Thanks! Nothing like real world experience. 123 is avoidable, but if the park is correct it's usable. I think I'm going to bring my laser tape measure to check some of these before going through them.

RE: Mt Rainier - east side

Aye NPS says 123 tunnel is 13/1 and WA DOT says 11/10. The photos of Stevens looks like their 12/6 is center max height. 410 has a NFS without signs and looks really low. The lack of signs on any of them is the most troubling.

Mt Rainier - east side

I'm heading to Mt Rainier coming in from the east. Our rig is 12' 6" tall and there are some tunnels and signs without reliable height numbers. Any info on highways 410 & 123 near Chinook and Cayus passes would be appreciated.

RE: Solar panel extension wires

another note: You want (well I say need) the controller to be near the battery, not on the panel. Especially if the cable is very long. A couple tenths of a volt drop in the cable really reduces charge rate. But most every portable panel mounts a controller on the panel. Consider either removing the controller on the panel and mounting it near the battery, or bypassing it completely and using an onboard controller. I did that and am glad I did. I also strung a steel cable along the power lines so I can lock my portable panel to the rig.

RE: Solar panel extension wires

The chart above is good info, but going larger will cut the system losses.

RE: Comprehensive mobile app for campsites/grounds/rules

RVLife is pretty good. It has the Campground Reviews database, off-line RV GPS routing and can import RV Trip Wizard routing. It uses massive memory to download the Google maps background for entire states at a time.

RE: The Way “All” 5th Wheels Frames Should Be Built

Modern engineering has routinely made products stronger and lighter using less material. Yes the frame is critical, but far more than wall thickness is required. The engineering however is only as good as the managers will allow and the warranty will support. Both are powered by money!

RE: First Aid Kit Contents

TV CPR is the worst trainer. They don't want to hurt an actor, they aren't trained, don't show when/where to be careful and when not!
