RE: Additional fuel carrying capacity on pickup

RDS makes a in bed auxiliary fuel tank. I got a 50 gallon one with my autoslider hitch about 800 miles on an average day pulling a fiver.

RE: Generators for 5er

unless the rear cargo carrier is extremely built and the trailer frame reinforced it will not be capable of carrying the weight of a 7000 watt gen.

RE: Kohler 5CKM21 no compression in both cylinders

if the intake valve had pressure coming out instead of in then you have stuck intake valves on both cylinders. the trick with pressurizing the cylinder through the sparkplug works very well. Other small engines used to get carbon fouling in the valve guides resulting in stuck valves and no compression usually from the carb running rich.

RE: 1/2 ton towing a 5th wheel

There are some trailers that might fit your criteria, never use UVW as it means no propane, battery or filled water tanks or stuff. Plus you need to a drink all of the passengers weight. Some of the newer half tons are very capable and it's not all about the engine pulling it is also about the stopping and controlling. It depends on the terrain also hills mountains or flatland and some salesmen will lie. From a F350 owner and a city wheel.

RE: Can you fulltime on $2000.00 per month

It is definitely possible as we do it. Everything has to be paid off and we "volunteer camp host" most months of a year. We save up for our fuel budget between moves and have a cushion in case things go bad. Health insurance is our largest cost.

RE: Check in/out timing...

We host at different campgrounds around the country, sometimes we have problems with squatters who try to take reserved sites but they eventually leave. There are sometimes issues with campers due out but enjoying the day, fishing or boating and can't be found creating a problem for everyone. We also have a reservation loop that allows a FCFS for only one day at a time people try to do multiple days with the payslip envelopes, sometimes it works out other times they have to relocate in the park if there are spots available. It uses a iron ranger and refunds are very difficult to impossible. Know the rules and print them out it seems every campground is different.

RE: Driverless vehicles in Yellowstone

We were there a couple of weeks ago, the driverless vehicles were only going around the parking lots and store campus areas. There was an attendant with the thing.

RE: Volunteer camphost needed

The BLM gives a free site in a beautiful area. Propane is reimbursed and a reimbursement for lunch on 4 hours or more is paid. We find it rewarding and it's halfway between Glacier and Yellowstone NP. And most campers are pretty decent folks.
