RE: Tuner like “5 Star Tune “

I have a 2017 6.0 3500HD, so basically your truck. I tried Diablew, he deals with the Diablo tuner. He can do a custom tune for you. You do some data logging and he adjust the truck based off it's specific parameters. It really woke my truck up, firmed up the shifts, removed some torque management and yes a tune like this or a dyno tune will add HP and torque. I am a fan of the Dyno tune 11 sec WS6 and a 12 second 14 Caprice they are dyno tuned, but the Diablew tune worked similar to a dyno tune and I am really happy with it. The 6.0/6L90E tune from the factory is poo, it is really mild. I tend to believe his claims of 20 to 40 RWHP depending on the tune you get. It certainly holds the gears differently and makes use of all the power. DiabLew This sounds like what I’m looking for but I also need to consider that the drive train is under warranty for 3 more years and I don’t want to do anything to void that. Can this tune be added and removed easily so as not to void the warranty?

RE: Tuner like “5 Star Tune “

My 6.0 only has the 4 spd trans, but I've found it will hold speed better at 68-70, than in the low 60s. It seems those few extra rpms bump it up where it is not as likely to downshift on those little rises. Also if the terrain is kinda rolling and it is downshifting, I drop it to 3rd gear and it spins about 3000rpm, and does well. Actually I don't notice a difference in MPGs towing in 3rd vs 4th, it sucks it all down either way :) I had this happen with our last motorhome. If I drove 62 or 63 mph it would shift on any little rise in the road. If I drove 65 / 66 mph it would shift a lot less. I have tried that with this truck but it doesn’t seem to make a difference.

RE: Tuner like “5 Star Tune “

What is it you want the tuner to do for you? Hopefully more torque and HP. When towing at 65 mph I don’t want it shifting down on every little rise in the road. It actually does a pretty good job but it would be a lot better and less shifting with a little more HP. Thanks

Tuner like “5 Star Tune “

I have a 2019 3500 Silverado 6.0 gas. Has anyone used a tuner like a “5 star tune “ ? I was wondering if or how they work before I purchase one and which brand I should buy? Thanks

RE: Washer/Dryer Combo

Thanks for the reply’s. Wow I’ve been checking on the combo washers/dryers and they aren’t cheap! I thought maybe you could buy one for around $800.00 since they are so small but they are more like $1400.00. Might be going to the laundromat for a while yet. lol

Washer/Dryer Combo

For those who have a Washer/Dryer Combo, one machine that washes and dry’s the clothes. Are they any good? We are now spending the winters in Florida and it would be nice to not to have to go the the laundromat to do our clothes. I know it will probably be a lot smaller loads but it would be nice to do laundry in the RV. If you like yours what brand do you have? Thanks

RE: Battery over charging

The converter on my friends 2002 trailer has a spot for an add on device. I remember the connector looking like an old phone line connection. The device changed the charging pattern to work better when leaving the trailer plugged in 24/7. sounds like the wizard I have for my progressive dynamic charger for may trailer https://www.progressivedyn.com/rv/charge-wizard/ made exclusively for the progressive dynamics charager I’ll have to see what brand of converter I have to see if this might work. Thanks

Battery over charging

Without changing the converter do they make something I can install in-line to keep from over charging my batteries. If I leave my 5th wheel plugged in all the time it will eventually boil my batteries unless I turn off the battery switch. I was hoping that maybe they make something that I can just install in-line to keep this from happening, but still keep the batteries charged. Thanks

RE: Rut Roh....Water heater bypass valve kaput?

Can you just use a Pex valve from your local Lowe’s, Home Depot or Menards?

RE: Looking for opinions on Open Range Quality

I am of the opinion that no matter which rig you purchase you will be working bugs out for a period of time initially. Don't by a rig if you are not a handy man :) This is 100 percent true! If can’t work on your own rig your going to be waiting on repairs at your dealer more than using it.
