Sloping driveway parking

I am going to need about 12-13" of lift on the front tires of my rig to get it level. Short of building wood ramps are there any over-the-counter solutions? My front G.A.W.R. (Gross Axle Weight Rating) is 5,000 lbs.

Besides Amazon where?

And also Camping World. Besides those 2 where do you buy your accessories online?

RE: Under the sink water filtration

On my last 2 TT and my current class A I had a built in "whole house" water filter along with the inline water filter. on the last TT I installed an under the sink filter with spigot. I haven't done it on the MH. not sure I will. if anything I would install a filter on the cold side of the faucet. I was thinking the cold side also instead of drilling another hole in the sink but my concern there is the reduced flow.

Under the sink water filtration

I am considering the high flow cheap filter like the Camco for filling the water tank or when on city water and a more intense under-the-sink filter for drinking water. This would involve adding another sink spigot I presume? Anyone have this type of setup and how do you like it? I want the quick tank filling the Camco would provide rather than a slower whole RV filter system and then I would filter it more for drinking at the sink. That's my reasoning for not having a whole RV system plus I wouldn't need to be quite as diligent with the storage tank sanitation.

RE: Tank flush

If you install one, try to aim it so it hits your tank sensors. Good advice. Thanks

A mobile version of this site?

I apologize if this is a repeat but is there a reason that there is no mobile version of this site, or did I miss it? The constant zooming in and out is a pain.

Looking for pantry ideas

Are there any decent pre-made wood pantry shelving you'd recommend for one of the walls in my class C motorhome? Canned goods,etc...

Attaching items to interior walls without drilling

Like hooks, tissue dispenser, those kinds of things. I was told there is a heat applied method for easy install and removal but I didn't get the details. I'm trying to avoid drilling holes into the walls of our new motorhome.

RE: Tank flush

I installed a Quickie Flush in my Class C and it was one of the best Mods I have done, and pretty simple. I picked the Quickie Flush over the Tornado because of the high failure rate of the swivel part. A few of my friends had them fail and it leaves it useless in the tank. The only thing that I changed is where the hose connects up with the flusher I put a 90 Degree Elbow in it to reduce the strain on the hose and make it closer to the tank. http://i.imgur.com/ua7SyECl.jpg height=220 It looks like this when finished, with a quick disconnect on the end. http://i.imgur.com/kewYuwdl.jpg height=220 Don't get discouraged if it leaks at the hose connections at first they are sometimes hard to get tight. Tightened mine up and have had no leaks anywhere. Another suggestion is to make a test hole in a piece of wood or something and test fit the device to the hole. I found that the hole size suggested was much larger than needed. G I like this. Thanks I read another person took their nozzle fitting apart, removed the teflon tape and used pipe thread paste instead along with SS hose clamps.

RE: Price differences in water filters

$25. inline filter with a charcoal filter works. We have an R/O unit at home so we are used to a more robust filtering than those. I might get the Travel Berkey for drinking water and the $25 filter for the tank.

RE: Tank flush

Drill it. I even drilled my Quikie flush nozzle some to direct more water to the rear of the tank and a bit extra at the sensors. And after 15 years the black sensors work like new. That tornado flush was a joke.. two of them busted before I got the Quickie. It is looking like I will. I installed one on my previous motorhome but the thing leaked when using it. It still did a good job though.

Price differences in water filters

They are all over the map! I am tried of hauling around bottled water and I am looking for a solution. My first idea was a two stage filter like these but the price discrepancies are confusing. $149.99 $59.99 I am also considering the cheap exterior blue Camco inline filter and something like this: BRITA Or better yet: TRAVEL BERKEY Thanks for any suggestions.

Tank flush

In my previous motorhome I installed a Camco Quickie Flush on the black tank. It worked pretty well. We will soon be getting a new motorhome and I'm a bit reluctant to drill into the tank to mount another of these flush units. Are there alternative options that work just as well? RE: Trying to level my motorhome

Is the driveway not a constant slope? Try the level on a 8' or longer 2x4, and measure in several locations along the slope. It looks consistent but I'll try that.

RE: Trying to level my motorhome

149 / 24 = 6.2 6.2 x 1.125 = 6.975 inches Here's what's weird. My current RV is shorter and my ramp lift is about 11 inches total to bottom of tire. That still isn't quite enough for level.

Trying to level my motorhome

Any geometrical math folks out there? I have a sloping driveway I want to park a 27 foot RV on but have it level. Wheelbase is 149". I used a 2 foot level, placed it on the driveway, lifted it to level, measured the gap and it was 1 1/8". What is the height or ramps I need for the front tires as I will be backing in?

RE: 170VAC coming from my Onan generator

Shred, how are you making out with your Genset? I have an appointment to take it in to a recommended shop here in the San Diego area. Quality RV.

RE: 170VAC coming from my Onan generator

Update: Replaced brushes and springs. Shined the rings. That brought my stationary ohm reading into tolerance on the 9/10 pins at 25 ohms. Problem is during spinning the ohms flucuate from 0.00 to OL at those same pins. I think I have a short in the rotor.

RE: 170VAC coming from my Onan generator

This "M" spec Emerald runs at 1800 rpm and has an electronic voltage regulator. assuming governor speed is somewhat close to correct, then the high ac voltage is almost always caused by faulty voltage regulator. the field circuits are "stuck" in full field mode. Flight Systems part number for the VR is model 305. Have installed dozens of these, with excellent results. better price and warranty than Onan part. They are a great company. The genset circuit breaker trips off. That was the original issue. Do you think that the 170 VAC feed to the Automatic Transfer Switch damaged the ATS? It's looking like that's the issue considering when I unhooked the ATS the breaker didn't trip. I wanted to solve the high voltage issue first obviously before replacing the ATS if that's the issue. Shore power works fine as does 12 VDC. It is looking like a new regulator and new ATS might be what I need.
