RE: Sewer hose?

If the pipe goes the with of the camper ( most do) and your only getting 5 foot of waste hose in, something is wrong. Is it binding up or is something else in there? How did you mount it? Is it hitting a screw?

RE: 2020 Chevy 3500 DRW first impressions towing

Good luck with it. And yes I get the inside stuff. Its amazing that they add stuff like the front flip up bench, like its something new. They had that standerd in the trucks like 20 years ago, lol. Seats are less confterble also. Dont worry about the break in period, i didnt.

RE: Water lines

Bypass the water heater, or you will need a lot of air.

RE: Portable Wind Turbine as a power supplement?

You are overthinking it. Get a better solar set up and a generator if you need that much power, the added weight wiring etc of a turbine is probably not going to add anything of value to your set up.

RE: How much do you really need?

I don't tow anything that i can overload. Ots easy to say i will not tow with full tanks etc. But it does come up, so i would definitely add the weight for full tanks, so waste water, reguler water , propane etc. After adding rhat it add you stuff. Then see how close your are. You will be surprised how much stuff you buy and it all adds weight. I seem to get a new something or other each year, and never get rid of anything. I rather tow a lighter camper then suck wind up a hill. Not saying it cant be done, just not worth it.

RE: TT tire pressure - sticker or tire PSI?

Rotate it out to the spare. Get 1 tire, 3 years should be fine, just check the pressure on them before heading out on a trip.

RE: TT tire pressure - sticker or tire PSI?

How old are the tires? And I wouldnt mix and match ratings or type. Did you need an e rated tire? I would also use the tire info, as its diffrent now that you changed it. This is going to be a long thread with lots of opinions. Lol.

RE: Need hitch advice please.

Im not understanding this whole thing. You can take the extention bar thing off and put the wdh on normally. Or if the wdh can be put in upside down( mine can) then unbolt it and move it up to get less drop. What am i missing here?

RE: Need advise on which new truck - 1/2 ton or 3/4 ton?

An another note... Depending on what state you live in, the 2500 might have to be registered as commercial. In New York over 6001 lbs (which is almost every 2500) , it does, and it's causing me to reconsider buying the 2500 I'm looking at. I have to travel Parkways. In NY you can not go on Parkways with commercial vehicles. The law isn't going to bother you if you're driving an empty pickup truck with Commercial plates on a NY Parkway. The restriction is for vehicles used for commercial purposes. Driving down the parkway with a dump truck or even a pickup loaded with tool boxes and ladder racks might get some attention, but your RV tow rig won't get a second glance. Depending on what he is towing. When reading the rules just now they stated it was originally because of low bridges that trucks could not go under. So , he might not be able to tow on them anyway. If he moves to NJ , he will have 0 problems, lol. Ill agree, i cant see them pulling over a pick up just because it has a commercial plate and no other signs of a work truck.

RE: Run with only one propane tank

Leave it empty and on the camper. Its only like 17 lbs? Even then what are you saving 20? I cant see 40 lbs making or breaking you. Unless you are way over weight.

RE: Electric/non electric scooter?

I have 2 we take forthe kido and me. 1st, some places frown on it. 2nd you need paved roads they are not for offroad use. We stil take them and use if we can. Bikes work just as well. Im 225 and got the go track one on amazon. Decent for the $$$. They can go 15 mph on a flat, less up hill for the weight. Range about 15 miles less for the weoght so 10 to 12. Kido does fine with them. We charge them one at a time off the outside camper outlet. You could always just plug in to the pedistal.

RE: Used TC: does it have a lien?

Just make sure you check , and double check with your state. In nj it was a pita to register my TT. Every state is diffrent. So only your DMV will know for sure. Then check that there right too. Lol.

RE: GM 6.6 gas

And ita not awful of gas for driving, it got better mpg ( by like 1 or 2 ) then my 1500. The problem is i do go faster, way faster. Maybe covid, no one on the road, or the truck. But i can easily look down at the speedo and see im doing 90.

RE: GM 6.6 gas

I like mine, i would have liked the 10 speed trans better but the 6 speed is not as bad as i thought it would be. My TT is light though. For me its a world of difference from my 2012 1500 GMC sierra. Gas millage is a bit better, truck is bigger , mirrors and back up camra to hook up the TT are good. Seats not as conformable. But ok for a longer drive. The power is very noticable. I can pass trucks , cars at will now. Before i was at everyone elses will, lol. Its a nice truck, and i didnt want or need the diesel. I think i got a decent dwal during the covid, before people were looking at buying stuff. So for me it was a win. Tow mirrors are excellent, more cab room for bigger people, this can be a negative if you are short. Bigger bed, so you can take more stuff with you. Ask away, i will try to answer best i can. I had it on 5 trips so far this year. All about 3 to 6 hours away. Oh, giant fuel tank. So the same if not a little better on mpg but the tank makes for half the fuel stops. Wish i had that last year , i did nj to disney world.

RE: Tips for people with back pain

Take some napoxen before your drive. Back pain is not fun. Keep the drives shorter also. You have to keep trying stuff untill you find something that helps you. Unfortunately, everyones problums are diffrent as are the cures. Good luck.

RE: Fed up with tire blow outs!!!

OP's 2018 Trace 253AIR is a rear kitchen. If he has the kitchen fully stocked and carrying a full tank of fresh water, his 4 tires are probably carrying a guesstimated ~1350lbs each. Well under his Towmax ST205/75R14 Load C rating of 1760lb @ 50lbs cold. I think his problem began when one blew for whatever reason, most likely a rear. At that point, the remaining 3 tires are carrying 1800 lb and compromised. Most likely the one on the same side of the blowout is carrying much more. It just snowballed from there. Again, my guess is he eventually lost both rear tires and one of the front tires. Rear kitchens a tail heavy if not loaded properly. You are correct, my TT is a rear kitchen. However it is never fully stocked as I use it just for a weekend once a month. All 3 tires did not blow at the same time. The first to go was the driver side rear. This weekend the passenger side rear blew on my way to the campground. On my way home the passenger side front went. Each time I heard the tire pop I pulled over immediately.I was being extremely conservative with the 1350lb tire load estimate. Your TT fully loaded to GVW would have close to 1700lbs per tire. Load rated C tire are marginal at best for this TT. Especially a rear kitchen with very little cargo weight up front to counter the kitchen weight. Yup. Probably overweight. Don't tires have a lesser weight rating for dule load also? I dont know whats on his camper but i bet it wasn't enough.
