RE: Yellowstone

the park rangers watch that pretty close. I suppose you could get away with it once or twice, but not sure what the penalties are.

RE: Walmart overnight and running the generator

RE: New Mexico 'Quarantine" Requirements

can't say I blame NM since it is flanked by AZ and TX on both I 10 and I 40.

RE: Please....

traveling, fueling, shopping.... we aren't going anywhere until late august or early sept and that will be a brief trip up to Los Alamos to visit our youngest son. As for fueling and grocery shopping, we have to do that here albeit through curbside pickup and using our card at the pumps. But we will just put on the mask and gloves and get our groceries and return to the car and use our alcohol wipes, etc. and we don't be camping in crowded rv parks etc.

RE: Colored party globe lights for awening? ...yeah, I know

I like a "night light" to show the steps into the rig...for the nights that are really dark. we turn it off when we are inside...on when we go somewhere and will need it when we get back. We also use a short string of ground lights to show the steps when we are in especially dark campsites. I do not mind the lights on another camper as long as they aren't shining directly into our big front window.

RE: Preference for one night camping

en route to our destination, we stay alongside the highway we're using. we use rest stops, walmarts, truck stops, city parks in small towns, sam's club etc. if in doubt, we ask the managers for permission.

RE: White hose

I grew up drinking from our hose in the yard, too. If it was hot and sunny, I let the water run until it was cold before drinking it. ;)

RE: Black Hills suggestions

add another thumbs up for Custer's Gulch rv park. A day trip over to the Badlands park. The restaurant at the visitor center does a really BIG, tasty indian taco...have them cut it in half for the two of you. Wall Drug is interesting. The Minuteman Missile museum/visitor center, located at the eastern exit off I 90, (highway 240) is a small gem and worth your time.

RE: Needles Highway (too big?)

your dually alone should get through the narrow tunnels, but be prepared for it to be a squeeeeeze. :) We have seen duallys go through it. I think they pull in their mirrors, etc. you can reach out and touch the tunnel sides.

RE: Road Conditions Utah rt 44

I don't know where Elk Meadows is, but if you're going south on 44 from Manila down to 191.... there will be a steep climb, but fairly short. We have not done it with our 37ft MH, but we have driven it in our toad. There are no tight, hairpin turns that I recall.

RE: Cody, WY to Yellowstone (East Entrance)

the east entrance mountain pass is, relatively, a piece of cake compared to many others in the Rockies. you shouldn't have any problems with it.

RE: Route into Buena Vista Co. then to Wy.

I'm sorry to tell you this, but the only way you can avoid climbing passes out of Buena Vista is to go down to Pueblo and head north on I 25 to Ft. Collins and take 287 up to Laramie and I 80. Any other way is going to take you over a pretty high pass. We also like Arrow Point rv park.

RE: Family National Parks Road Trip

From Salt Lake, take 89 north up past Bear Lake en route to the Tetons. Between Spokane and Seattle, there is the Columbian River Gorge, or further north, the Grand Coulee Dam. Grand Canyon North Rim will be cooler, but South Rim has the visitor center, museum etc. Yes, it could be hot there, by day.
