RE: I Need a checklist

Empty and drain the lines of your fresh water system. Also connect to your municipal water supply or run the water pump for a hydro test. Common complaints are the loose connections that could flood the Inside of your RV.

RE: Tesla Semi truck unveil & test ride set for Oct 26th !

Have had recalls on Honda and Subaru that took over a year to get the parts installed. How long will Tesla take? And are they sending mechanics to. your home or will be be waiting hours in the lounge over-caffienated when they finally have it done?

Buddy’s facebook comment.... This is a true, sad story of the depression that can haunt a man Brad lived in California and was a lifelong environmentalist. He was sick of the world; of Covid 19, Brexit, Russian belligerence, global warming, racial tensions, and the rest of the disturbing stories that occupy media headlines. Brad drove his car into his garage and then sealed every doorway and window as best he could. He got back into his car and wound down all the windows, selected his favorite radio station and started the car. Four days later, a worried neighbor peered through his garage window and saw him in the car. She notified the emergency services and they broke in, pulling Brad from the car. A little sip of water and, surprisingly, he was in perfect condition, but his Tesla had a dead battery. Oh my gawd that’s hilarious. I’m copying it my keeper notes. Technical note, it would probably take a few weeks or so to run the battery dead LOL. :). He didn't find the exhaust pipe to connect a hose?

RE: Tesla Semi truck unveil & test ride set for Oct 26th !

I should have put in an order for a cybertruck. I was inclined to wait a couple of years anyway but I just saw this on insideevs.com: "While it's true that many (some guess as much as 50%) of the Cubertruck reservations won't convert to sales, there are already so many reservations that even if only half of them convert, Tesla may have a production backlog of about three to four years once they begin manufacturing the vehicle." Now I don't want to have a deposit tied up for 5 years while I wait for the truck. From my stressed out son who left Tesla, Elon can shift production priorities in a snap of his finger when he sees pile up of demand and higher profits for the Tesla models. With Cybertruck's reservations and, hopefully, low cost manufacturer, it could get a higher priority.

That's why I love Tesla -- other than my obsence profit on their stocks. The continuing improvements, mostly free, when you are already on the hook. cooked and in their frying pan having bought their unit. Sam. On your cybertruck reservation did you select FSD. Not giving advice here but we changed ours to include FSD this morning. If we don't want it at the time we can take it off. But Groover is right. On monday it is going up 2000 bucks. Right on the website it states your price is locked in. FSD isn't worth it to everybody. All Tesla vehicles come stock with Autopilot at no extra cost. FSD is 8000 bucks extra right now. It is a nice to have, not need to have. Just a heads up. Cheers. Thanks. I'm not inclined to get an FSD but. I appreciate the heads up and your info on decision time line. As I might have mentioned. FSD needs to be turned off on tow mode for current Tesla vehicles. And. seems dangerous if you turn off the tow mode so FSD can work even while towing a trailer. Dangerous since the CT's computer will not be including the towed vehicle for consideration in its maneuvering. I am optimistic though it will actually be included in tow mode. How else difficult to have it in Cybbertruck when the Semis would logically have it already.. We'll see.

CNBC reported the high-end is fully reserved. So, there are willing buyers... not just us poor or cheap folks. But it's of similar range, price and earlier delivery timelines... maybe.

Ron Baron thinks Tesla is headed towards being a two trillion dollar company. https://www.cnbc.com/2020/10/14/tesla-will-become-a-2-trillion-company-says-billionaire-ron-baron-.html Despite it's dizzyingly lofty stock price, my brother, a software engineer in Canada is still a believer -- not for the car but for Tesla's hefty globally accumulated data. But he said he also ordered their Cybertruck.

That’s what happens here in BC. Cheap and abundant hydro (literally all the power for the province) and little incentive to go solar. I do see it more and more often but mostly on houses, not as much on businesses and rarely commercial. My guess is the numbers don’t pan out. The actual demand is not going up as B.C. hydro is spending lots of money helping public and private customers modernize and reduce power use thru technology. They also have another large Hydro project coming on line in the next 3 years so I don’t think the numbers for solar will change soon. Just a guess. I’m not up on this stuff. CA maybe on it's way to carbon-free energy source as they now require that new houses to have solar panels. New buildings and even. retrofitted ones would have solar panels in their roofs and parking areas. Seen them too in public. and private schools. Makes sense to go hydro for water rich area.

Check it out. Looks like Giga 1 has a few more solar panels installed. https://s.yimg.com/ny/api/res/1.2/b.3fFJoJB1wDdZKuD4guww--/YXBwaWQ9aGlnaGxhbmRlcjt3PTk2MDtoPTU5MC43Mg--/https://s.yimg.com/uu/api/res/1.2/Sn5wWPd_8gg7vZzGcC0kVg--~B/aD05MjM7dz0xNTAwO2FwcGlkPXl0YWNoeW9u/https://media.zenfs.com/en/coindesk_75/49aedd4aa6e8b0a901eea145242ad63b width=640 If you look real close I think you can see Turtle up there completing the QC inspection ;) Picture credits to Yahoo News They seem to add some once per year. I wonder if they’ll have solar on the Texas plant. If I recall my days on course there it was pretty sunny. They put up 3 new apartment buildings a couple blocks from our house here in the Okanagan last year. I was driving on a road that overlooks them a few days ago and noticed that two of the three are covered in solar and it looks like they are prepping the third. Kinda new for this area as hydro is cheap cheap and I don’t think has been much incentive for it. They also seem to have a half dozen J1772 chargers for the residents and they are free. Kinda cool. Still, half a dozen chargers for 170 apts might be a stretch in about 10 years. EV growth is quick up here, or at least in this province. In their. Sparks, NV giga, Tesla must not still be finding a good. ROI for the capital spending to add more solar panels on their roof because they are getting such good cheap electricity from NV Energy.

But yah. Hefty maintenance schedule and huge difference in fuel costs. It is the unscheduled maintenance of that BMW that has people trading them in just a few years. Meaning, breakdown? Lol. My sister had a BMW. Her husband got exasperated when they were told they have to replace the whole assembly for $4,000. when only one of bearings was shot. They sold it pronto and it's a barely 2 years.

Most EVs are $6,000-$10,000 cheaper to operate than an equivalent ICE vehicle Specially or more of us with high mileage.

One thing I have learned about Superchargers is you have to park just right or the cable doesn’t reach. I don’t think the Cybertruck will be able to hook up to more than one Supercharger at a time. It would be cool but I don’t think it would be possible. I have seen videos of the prototypes hooking up to three chargers at once. They do have to use a wiring harness. Obviously not something for the average user but it does illustrate some possibilities and capabilities. Semi fast charging There ya go. Simple approach works. I think it gets more complex with V3’s because of the liquid cooled cables but I’m sure there is a solution for that as well. Of the Tesla tech challenges, this must be their easiest. However, space constraints will be more difficult specially in the more congested cities with the larger units, ie, semis and Cybertrucks, or as they sell more cars. It is now an issue for my daughter currently.

Here's Why the Tesla Semi-Truck is Insanely Efficient! When to Expect the Tesla Semi Tesla Semi Spotted Hauling Model 3, Y Customer Vehicles Tesla Has Been Using New 4680 Batteries for Months, Musk Says Very interesting and informative. For truckers and long distance haulers where time is of the essence, top of mind concerns for them is range and re-charge turn around -- unless, sleep/rest willl be relaxed for them in. their full autonomous/self driving mode (where they can actually be sleeping where there vehicle is running, lol).

RE: Gremllin in my water pump.

Thanks everyone for the input. I'll check into those as my son promised to look into it when he comes visit us. He also suspected the fuse is blown and it is just not apparent by just looking at it through the red cloudy plastic case. He said it is still supposed to continue working if the fuse has not blown. Auto blade type fuse has 2 small openings on top of plastic case that are direct contacts with each side of fuse Fuse installed......voltmeter 12VDC ---should read if not blown Fuse NOT installed...voltmeter ohm.....should read 0 (zero) if NOT blown ----reads 1 or OL then fuse is bad Another good information. I'm learning a lot with this post and your responses. Thanks!

RE: Tesla Semi truck unveil & test ride set for Oct 26th !

" I believe these are the LFP batteries...? They have less power density but because they are being used in the SR plus pack they have room for a little more battery." According to one article I read the LFP batteries used were developed and produced by a Chinese company. Elon likes to local source things so it just made sense to put them in the Chinese product. Tesla is largely battery constrained anyway so this is going to help increase production in the short term at least. The $25,000 car is expected to be a new product and with the new lower cost batteries revealed on battery day. Those batteries are also cobalt free. The batteries are a lot bigger deal than most people have realized. True dat! Reason why this debate among stock analyst that Tesla is not a car company but technology: leader in both battery technology and autonomous driving which they can monetize if they are themselves not supply. cconstrained in battery production/raw materials and techies for installing autonomous driving software in non Tesla cars.
