RE: ohio state parks

What dates? I'm reading that most are just reopening. You can make reservatios 6 months ahead of your arrival date. Those that did make them and had reservations for dates before they reopened the park because of the covid were refunded, otherwise if your reservation was for aa date after the parks reopened they are still recognized.

RE: How to secure storage area while connected to water?

Maybe the OP will hire both of you to sit at his camper and turn the water off when he leaves, and then turn it back on when he returns.... What kind of salary are we talking here? Benefits, 401k matching etc...

RE: How to secure storage area while connected to water?

I keep connected to city water but have an Y adapter so its easy if I am gone all day to just flip the lever to shut it off to the trailer and flip it back when I get back.

RE: Ohio campgrounds

Parks Response to COVID-19 Ohio State Parks is committed to offering safe outdoor adventures at all of its parks. Beginning May 21, most state park campgrounds will re-open but for the safety of our guests and staff, a reservation will be required to camp and we will not be accepting walk-in campers. Cabins and unique getaways will be closed until at least May 31. New reservations can be made for arrivals on June 1 or later. Campers must practice “self-contained” camping, whenever possible and follow all COVID-19 protocols. Campgrounds will offer limited restrooms, but most shower houses will remain closed. Group camps, park offices, shelters, camp stores, pools, and splash pads will remain closed. If you have an existing reservation with an arrival date of May 20 or earlier and extends past May 21, we are currently exploring options to allow modifications. All other reservations that were impacted by the extension of the closures will automatically be cancelled and a full refund issued to the original form of payment, if possible. If we are unable to refund to the original form of payment, an Ohio State Parks e-gift card will be issued to use on a future reservation. If you wish to cancel a future reservation, you may do so by logging into your account or by using the Contact Us link at the bottom of this page.

RE: Looking for Solar Panel system to just MAINTAIN battery

You sound just like me. Mine is also in a storage yard and I bring the battery back home after the season and hook it up to a maintainer, otherwise its in the trailer for the summer. I have a 100w panel and a morningstar 30 amp controller and also a battery disconnect switch. It has performed flawlessly in the many years I have had this setup. The battery is always on float charge when I check it and like you I do go to the trailer and have to open a slide or use lights. I think I bought the panel from Solarblvd - which might be out of business but I saw some 100w panels at home depot from Grape solar that were cheap. 100W might be a little overkill for just keeping the batteries charged but they had a sale or something when I bought it and it wasnt much more than a smaller wattage panel.

RE: Retractable Tonneau Covers

I have a retrax and like it. I like that I can lock the cover in whatever position so if it might rain I can try to cover up the firewood.

RE: OTR Indoor Antenna

I know a lot of folks who would argue with you on that. I'm not one of them however so I'll drop it here. I do know some folks who put it in the attic. They can argue if they want, but they would be wrong. Link

RE: OTR Indoor Antenna

IF you have an HOA rule against outside antennas. Try putting it in the attic (Provided you do not have a metal roof) You HOA cannot stop you from putting a TV antenna on your house, the FCC calls is Over-The-Air Reception Devices and by law you can put one on your house.

RE: DVR - how to record using Verizon cell phone hot spot?

You can also buy a Tivo OTA and record on that, no internet needed to record it or watch it later. Right now they are on sale with a lifetime subscription. For 250 you can get a 1TB OTA unit.

RE: QAV Wi-Fi Booster - Anyone use one?

I did not want the cradle either, so I opted for the Fusion2go So how has it been working out for you? I have seen a lot of videos on the Weboost where you need to be within inches on the internal antenna for it to work good and was wondering what your experience shows

RE: QAV Wi-Fi Booster - Anyone use one?

RE: QAV Wi-Fi Booster - Anyone use one?

I have opted for a Weboost RV cell booster and that has made a huge improvement. Which model weboost did you get?

RE: Preparing for isolation to avoid contact with Corona virus

If you want to prepare a little bit before hand then good for you. Remember this is not the apocalypse and all your normal utilities will still be working. Just stock up on the normal things you use daily so you wont have the need to go to the grocery store and avoid contact. If it hits your area then you will be all set at staying at home, if not then you can wait longer until you need to hit the grocery store again and use the extra supplies you bought. Don't be like the old y2k preppers and start buying water barrels and a cabin out in the woods somewhere.

RE: Portable air conditioners?

I used one and it worked quite well. We only ave 30 amp so a 2nd ac was out of the question. I fashioned a board that fit into the slide window and had the exhaust go there and also ran a dedicated heavy duty extension through the slide from the ac right to the pedestal. As far as condensation there was not much after running this thing pretty much 24/7 for a week.

RE: Riverstone 37MRE

I recently looked at the Rivserstone as well and it is nice with a lot of standard options. I have also wondered about the dark color paint jobs on units and keep them cool inside.
