RE: Stored diesel question

I learned something today that diesel can be kept for a pretty long time. I assumed it was similar to gas and that it would not last a long time. I have mine stored in air tight jerry cans so was not too worried and use it up within a few months of purchase but this is good info to know.

RE: OTR Mobile - GRRRR

Nice plan for limited access. I believe only one device at a time can use the hotspot feature? Not on my phone, Galaxy S9 Verizon. Also I use Easytether Pro to my windows 10 laptop, turn on internet sharing on the laptop and my router picks it up and rebroadcasts. I can use our Roku tv and ipads at the same time.

RE: Security Camera needs replacement

Literally just today I made my own ring spotlight knockoff. Motion sensor from lowes at $36. Wyze cam $20. Outdoor cover is around $7. Can take a pic tomorrow. Nice, please post a pic. I have a Lorex system and also a few Wyze cams but they are indoor units and would like to see how you did it.

RE: How often and how to clean black tank

spoon059 wrote: If I have a full hookup site I will hook up my black tank flush and flush for a couple minutes every trip. If I am at the dump station and there isn't a backup, I will flush for a couple minutes as well. I'm probably doing it excessively, but its worked for me. I usually keep the black tank flush on while dumping the black tank to help move along the solids, then I'll close the black tank for 2 or 3 minutes to build up the water level in the tank, then open the black tank again. That "surge" of water coming out helps to clean up most of the solids. Then I make sure to leave a couple gallons in the tank after I close the black valve again. I do the same thing as you. If there is a line at the dump station I will just dump then flush back at my storage lot.

RE: Selecting portable compressor

I had bought a portable 12v one named Truckair that goes to 150psi that I have had for years and works great. I use it for the tires, pinbox and hitch

RE: Will honda 2000 start a 15k BTU air conditioner?

Good info, but I already have the EU2000 so I dont really see myself upgrading to the EU2200 and also considering we dont boondock much it might be an expensive lesson to install the easy start only to find out it wont run the AC. I guess it all depends on a lot of factors wether it would run the ac smoothly or not

RE: Casting (Mirroring Android Tablet) to TV HDMI port

austinjenna, my original ask was that I wanted the tablet not to be physically tethered to the tv (with a cable). This would be akin to the wired cable tv controllers of the late 1970s. Yes, I may end up going the KISS route with a cable between the two devices. But for now with wireless cast/mirror technology available, I am willing to invest a bit of my $, time, and learn something (good, bad or ugly). Yes I read your original ask about going wireless and was simply menioning the easiest and tried and true method that does work. If you think that a wired tv remote from 1970 is the same as your cell phone with an hdmi cable - thats your opinion LOL. You have already learned something about your setup. It doesnt seem to work.

RE: Casting (Mirroring Android Tablet) to TV HDMI port

I think it would be much simpler to just use a cable and be done with it unless there is a specific reason on why to go wireless. When I show my phone on the tv its one cable from the phone to the tv and it charges the phone as well.

RE: Will honda 2000 start a 15k BTU air conditioner?

install a microair easy start and you'll be fine on the smaller generator Thats what I am thinking of doing to run my 15k from my Eu2000

RE: BEWARE Keystone Hideout

Its true as long as we keep buying them but what other options are out there? Until a new company comes along that provides good workmanship and stands behind their product, and doesnt get bought out we are kind of stuck with what we have.

RE: Buying from out of state

If you can find one that is close to you I think I would go and show the dealer the price that you can get out of state and see if they can come close, otherwise just take a trip to get it and camp on the way back home.

RE: A very good reason Not to scrimp on surge protectors.

Yes it is a good thing to have for sure. Glad that nothing was damaged for you and it worked as it should have.

RE: Should I connect my sewer line when camping?

I hook it up then run the tank sprayer for a while to clean it out

RE: Outdoor Kitchens

I thought it would be stupid but thats the way it came. As the other poster mentioned we keep all outside stuff in those cabinets so it does limit the in and out of the camper. I removed the grill for more storage and I have my own anyway. The fridge is nice when staying longer then a few days. No leaks for me

RE: Fighting zoning ordinances that hurt RV owners

If the rig is in good shape and parked in the driveway I dont get why anyone would not like it. Im guesing Some people are just sore losers seeing others havin nice toys ! yeah I think thats it Although his might be in good shape, not all of them will be and then the problems start

RE: Fighting zoning ordinances that hurt RV owners

I dont mind the HOA rules. They keep the neighborhood looking nice and resale value up.
