RE: New to RV’ing....and might not last

Keep your sense of humor! hopefully someone with the same or similar rigged will come on here and help you out. By the way you are in help and support which is not for help and support. a rather humorous misnomer. Go back in and look under the other forums and find class A's and post their unless a mod that moves it for you

RE: AC concern Sonic 213VRK

The fan might help a little, worth a try although obviously not the ideal solution. One of the requirements for new hires of RV design is that they must never have spent a single night in a camper.

RE: Driving to Durango CO from Moab with a Fifth Wheel

I do it frequently with relatives both sides of Wolf Creek Pass, once in snow, not by choice & not predicted 4" at the summit. Here's some advice from someone drove long haul in the 11 western states: You can go down hill too slow many many times, too fast once. Use low gears, exhaust brake if you have it, and keep speed down, it not a race. not meaning to hijack the thread, but I'm old. I remember when Wolf Creek pass was an adventure to behold. Now you can cross it at high speeds in all kinds of weather, well, almost all kinds. The last time I went over it eastbound towards South fork they did stop you on the other side and make sure you had chains or four-wheel drive. I had four wheel and a small utility trailer behind me in my expedition and did just fine.

RE: Driving to Durango CO from Moab with a Fifth Wheel

Meetravel, if you are pulling with a gasoline engine that gives you a lot of the same effect as a exhaust brake on a diesel. If you have a diesel you can add an exhaust brake, not cheap but cheaper than a new truck. But if you have a gas engine, just use second-gear first gear, whatever keeps you going slow. You are heading for beautiful country, have a really good time.

RE: Driving to Durango CO from Moab with a Fifth Wheel

Six percent isn't that steep when you are in the Rockies. And you should not be worrying about hot brakes if you have the proper setup. You should be using exhaust brake or engine brake and a low gear. Save the brakes for when you need them, only applying them when your speed goes up beyond where you would like it. I used to just shudder following cars or RVs with the brake lights on all the way down a hill. Your question is a good one what shows a lack of experience, not unusual. Most people never polish big rig through the mountains. Just do a lot more research and make sure you have a proper setup. Safety safety safety.

RE: New to RVing

Jayco was the largest privately-held manufacturer of campers in the country until purchased by Thor. Since then some believe quality has decreased. However, you've got a Ford underneath you and that whole set up looks pretty good to me. by the way, you published in forum help and support which is not for help and support for anything but questions related to the forum of self, that is, how to post your pictures or setup your signature. Go back and look in the forum choices and you will find I believe class c forum, or at least it's somewhere in the motorhome list of forms.

RE: Camping World, Colfax, NC

Curious why you put your post in Forum Posting Help and Support instead of Camping World Service and Installation? Maybe because like 90% of the posts here the title Help and Support is all people see. Rename was worse than the old one. Why not Issues With Website?

RE: pulling fifth wheel with f250 supercab 6.2L engine

250 gasser would pull that with lots of of safety margin.

RE: Tires

Posted in wrong forum. Wbile I am unfamiliar with this brand of tire, I did notice that it shows a maximum tire pressure of 50 psi. Recommended tire pressure for other tires is generally 65 lb. That would steer me away from it unless I knew a whole lot more about that brand.

RE: Camping on my lot against zoning law

How did you arrive at the conclusion the OP lives in a truck camper. He does say he lives in a camper, but he also could be referring to a trailer. Not everyone refers to an RV using the same nomenclature. I looked at his profile.

RE: Camping on my lot against zoning law

OP lives in a truck camper. May not have a few hundred thousand dollars to build a house. Where I've lived a habitable garage must be preceded by construction of a residence if I remember correctly.

RE: Camping on my lot against zoning law

"What sign do we have that he is not paying the required "rent" to the city/state/county?" Post made me wonder if OP is a he. The excessive fear made me wonder if it might not be a she. Or if in California, a tulip.

OP is posted as a person one spook away from a tin foil hat. Be careful.

RE: Camping on my lot against zoning law

The tone of OPs post lead me away from the otherwise reasonable suggestions to wait and see. OP, if you can sleep, fine. If you need resolution then you need to get the answers.

RE: Camping on my lot against zoning law

First, calm down. Pay a visit to the code enforcement office of your town or county. Ask your questions calmly so you don't upset them. Often yelling at employees of such departments is a crime. They may have a suggestion or they may not, but your post indicates you are not handling this well. Good luck and let us know how things go. There is a better place to post this. Look for a general discussion forum in the list. This one is for technical questions about the entire website.

RE: 30 amp or 50 amp

interesting question for us non electricians. Why don't you post it in a proper form, as this one is for technical support on the site itself, such as how to change your signature.

RE: Experience towing with Acura MDX

several different weights can be pulled by SUVs. However, having owned SUVs since 95, I have an opinion. Here it is. The vehicle you are talking about is not an SUV. It's a little foreign car designed a seat four that has been modified to heck and back and is now called an SUV. You have to consider so much more than weight. You need to consider wheelbase, braking, transmission, cooling of the transmission, just so much stuff.
