Sounds more like the two magazines are being folded into a single new magazine.

RE: What ONE feature do you really like/want in your next RV ?

More USB ports Bigger waste and fresh tanks. I don't have to completely fill the fresh while driving. I can top it off before the last leg into into the boondocking site.

RE: Parking on area with dirt/grass stability

I carry 6 12x18 pieces of 1/2 plywood. When traveling they are placed upright lining the walls of the storage bin in case something shifts enroute it won't poke a hole in the side of the bin. If I need additional height I have Lego blocks to put atop the boards. I have also used the boards to level the BBQ in a particularly uneven site.

RE: Roadside Food stops?

We just pull off the road (rest areas on interstates, large turnouts on other roads) and fix our own meals. Cheaper and less bother.

RE: New camper coming has nitrogen filled tires

I use my own custom mix of gases. About 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen, and the rest a various mixed gases. I can get it pretty cheap and seems to work fine.

RE: Are RV sewer hose supports necessary?

Used to use them. Seldom do now. Most sites are level enough they are not needed. A few places had signs stating supports were required by local code. Supports do keep the hose off sharp rocks that could poke a hole. Had one site so sloped the sewer was above my outlet. That made dumping my tanks a challenge but I figured out a workaround.

RE: Painfully slow internet

Some of you that are speaking techie are being helpful but a little over my head. My phone has unlimited but not hot spot. Is Webboost a standalone system or are there other pieces of the puzzle? WeBoost takes an existing cell phone signal and makes it stronger. A one bar signal may go up to three bars. Three may go to four. It will not create a cell phone signal if nothing is there to begin with. A zero signal area is still a zero signal with a booster. That still only creates a stronger cell phone signal. You then must convert the cell phone signal into a wifi signal. A Verizon Jet Pack does it. Most other carriers offer similar. Many smart phones have one built in (tether, wifi, hotspot -- different phones call it different). A dedicated jet pack is usually faster, though. If you go this route you are using your cell phone plan data or minutes. If you have unlimited then all is good. If you have a cap you have to keep an eye on your data usage.

RE: Do most parks check/copy your ID? (Victims of ID theft)

Your address is public record and anyone can do a search for your home address. They don't need to get it off your license. Your property tax records are also public record along with the value of your house, when it was purchased, how much you paid etc. I am even aware of a way to get deceased persons social security numbers. If I were a scam artists I could use/have as many of those as I wanted. There is a lot of information that can be obtained in ways other than seeing your id or credit/debit card. Our house does not have a street address. Everything is a PO Box. Somewhere in the county records is a parcel number. If someone wants to dig through records to figure out where I live, that is a waste of time. Anyone could simply go to the local grocery store and ask. Small enough town everybody knows everybody. The deed is in the name of the family trust. Back to the OP. I have never had anyone ask for photo ID at a private or public campground. If I ask for a discount they usually give me one without asking for proof.

RE: ONe-way roads in Yellowstone NP

Last time we did Blacktail Drive the road had just opened that morning. Rutted in a few places from winter runoff, but still easily drivable. The wildlife was great -- herds of elk on the road, black and grizzly bear next to the road, lots of birds. At one point we got out and walked south to a low ridgeline that overlooked a large meadow expanse of the Park interior. Saw another of herd of browsing elk that must have numbered several hundred. Blacktail is all unpaved, but our Suby did fine.

What is wrong with the Customer Service number?

We ordered a propane detector online and installed it. It is defective. As soon as you connect it to power it begins a solid shrieking beep. Need to return it. Tried calling the customer service number 4 times in the last two days, and had a 45 minute wait each time, before the call disconnecting. We want to return it. The nearest store is 2 hours away.

RE: Without getting political....

The NFL has finally lost me for good. Started being selective a couple of years ago, but I have had enough. Off the soapbox, flame retardant suit on.. Agree. Stopped watching the NFL years ago. I now spend my Sundays hiking, fishing, bike riding, reading, et al. Much happier.

RE: Harbor Freight has lifetime warranty on hand tools

A lifetime warranty is useless if a tool breaks in the middle of a job. I live 2 hours from the nearest HF store. So if a tool breaks I have to drive 4 hours round trip to finish the job. No thanks. I had the same problem with Craftsman tools when they were having their QC crisis. I now buy quality up front and not worry about it.

RE: Lassen Volcanic National Park

We just returned yesterday from Lassen NP. The forest service camp grounds along the way towards the south entrance were closed. Best call before you go. Lassen National Forest has extended the closures until 6/25. Forest officials are coordinating with the FS Regional Office in SF, state officials, and local county governments. Trying to walk the tightrope keeping everyone happy. This applies to developed recreation sites. Boondocking/dispersed camping is still allowed.
