RE: Dexter Easy Lube axles

Yes, you should spin the wheel while using the EZ Lube feature. Personally, I do not use it because it can result in grease getting past the rear seal and onto the brakes. I prefer to disassemble and repack so I can inspect the brakes.

RE: Culling the herd....

This sort of thing happens all the time. Some people seem to think Yellowstone is a petting zoo.

RE: Hey Michigan people, title and registration question

As long as the seller gave you the old title and a bill of sale, you're good to go.

RE: strange axle nut on 5th wheel hub

In a car or truck, when a bearing begins to fail you can hear it and often feel it. So how does one tell if a never lube trailer bearing goes bad?

RE: Trailer legs

You can replace your tires for about the same amount. These look like a way bigger hassle than they are worth.

RE: Service unavailable, again

I haven't had a problem since switching to the Good Sam portal several years ago. Lenovo laptop with Win 10 and Chrome, both fully updated. On rare occasions I see the Captcha when posting a comment, but hitting the back button then posting again gets rid of it.

RE: Truck GVWR wrong weight listed on registration

The theory of having insurance is they assume the risk that the insured individuals property will be damaged or destroyed, as well as the responsibility for any act of negligence, ignorance, or stupidity on the part of the insured. The things they do not cover are specifically listed in the policy terms. If they could get out of paying by showing it was the fault of the insured, they'd never pay a claim.

RE: Coachmen Clipper

I am thinking about upgrading to 15 inch tires on my 2017 Clipper FQ17. Who has changed their 13 inch clipper tires to 15 inch tires without flipping the springs? Any issues? I would be concerned with clearance in the wheel well. Also, do your hubs have four lugs, or five?

RE: no brake lites or hazard but turn signals flicker

A multi-meter will only tell you voltage, so checking all connections will not tell you if it is getting a good flow of that 12 volts, which is also called amps. Truth. The way around this is to use a test lamp rather than a voltmeter. If there's not enough current, the lamp will show it.

RE: no brake lites or hazard but turn signals flicker

First thought is a ground, because you report that the turn signals flicker. Also no brake lights doesn't sound like the flasher.

RE: Help with new travel trailer

Do you already have a truck? If so, figure out what it can really tow before you buy a trailer. You'll want a 3/4 ton truck for what you're contemplating. That's a lot of trailer, and five people in the truck is also a load.

RE: Chipmunks

Scent repellents do not work. Figure out how they are gaining entry, and block the hole(s).

RE: Can I purchase any wheel with the right size & bolt pattern?

It should be fine, especially as a second spare.

RE: Gas, Diesel, Gears and Towing

That's a question that none of us can answer. How the manufacturers arrive at ratings seem to be a closely guarded secret. you get in an accident, a smart attorney could sue you for being over the stated GCWR I don't understand how torque and HP plays a roll in an accident. Now you're really opening a can of worms. There are many discussions on here about whether the GCWR and or towing rating are legal ratings that can be admitted in a court case. Ultimately nobody on here can answer that. Well it's possible that someone on here can answer these questions, to date they have been mute on the subject. The law--which generally is applicable to commercial haulers rather than Joe Fifth Wheel--uses the metric of axle weight ratings.

RE: Hitch set up

No one needs a sway controller.............. till ya' do. Yep. Just like a seat belt, safety glasses, or a motorcycle helmet.

RE: Air shocks on tandem axle - settle this debate.

If you want a better ride, air shocks are not the way to get it.

RE: Sensor Panel

Is this a TT with a basic electrical system, or a coach with a more sophisticated control setup? If the former, it sure sounds like a fuse.

RE: Air shocks on tandem axle - settle this debate.

Why would you want one axle to respond differently than the other?

RE: Hitch set up

The built in sway control on the truck is a system that is meant to respond to serious sway events, and correct them before you roll the truck down the highway. You will still want a WD hitch.
