RE: Don't forget this weekend

I think we should adopt DST full time. Spring forward and stay that way.

I shower in dihydrogen oxide and also use 78% (approx) nitrogen.

RE: Load Range G Tires

For a double axle, the price is $600 vs $1100, for a triple axle $1600 vs $940. Considering the quality seems to be about the same, with maybe a couple more isues with the Goodyear, it pretty much boils down to price. Personally I'd rather spend the money to travel. I had rather spend money on tires I believe in and trust. G614's here and the next set will be the same. YMMV

RE: Electric Fire Places

I use my Dimplex every day during the winter. It works great and puts out enough heat that I virtually never use my propane furnace except those nights when it will be well below freezing and I need a bit of heat in my underbelly for the pipes, etc. Of course I am a camp host and have free electricity so heating for me is cheap. Oh no, I have to go to work today! Oh well.

RE: Getting harder to aim Slimline SWM

I just wander what receivers you use with the slim line dish Genie? I used an HR24 until about 3 years ago and then the Genie HR44. Aiming one vs the other was no different.

RE: Getting harder to aim Slimline SWM

I'm not having any issues with aiming my Slimline dish. I use the signal strength screen from my receiver and a wireless baby monitor. I haven't noticed any difference in doing this and this is my 10th year. Maybe I'm just lucky?

RE: Getting harder to aim Slimline SWM

I think you are confusing magnetic north with true north. In California there is a 13 degree east difference between magnetic and true north.

RE: good Sam VS AARP.

AARP was a HUGE supporter of Obamacare, apparently thinking they would get more $$ somehow. Since the bulk of the people eligible for AARP are also already on MediCare, IMHO it was an EVIL bargain with the devil with no guarantee of benefit. WAS an AARP member, no longer recommend them for diddly! The same day AARP announced their support for Obamacare I called them and said "cancel my membership right now". They reminded me I had 2 more years on my membership. I responded with a repeat of my first comment. No longer a member and never will be.

RE: RV King Topper

I full time and a topper to me is like putting lipstick on a pig. I just bought a better mattress. My original mattress that came with my Designer was little more than a thick piece of foam and cheap foam at that. I burned it.

RE: Batwing Water Leak

Throwing a Batwing in the trash? Really? What "different antenna" did/are you now using thats better than the batwing? Thanks Batwing needs to be lubricates at least once/year I don't use any OTA antenna, I'm totally satellite. I put up an omnidirectional antenna that is fixed and doesn't leak mostly to plug up the hole. I don't remember if the coax is attached to it or not, but I think it is.

RE: Batwing Water Leak

Mine leaked on my bed twice. After the first leak lubed it, after the second leak I removed it with a different antenna and threw the batwing in the trash. No problems since. Since the Batwing with Wingman attachment is the best built-in RV OTA TV antenna, I would not recommend that as a solution to the OP's problem. I never used it anyway and tired of the leaks. I can't get on the roof due to vertigo, so that sucker had to go.

RE: Where is emissions sticker??

Now Im really confused. Cummins sent me a letter saying the 2003 HR Endeavor diesel didn't have an emissions sticker. They sent me the EPA certification but doesn't mention CA? Now Im really worried. Does anyone have a picture they could email me of the emissions sticker so I ca look into getting a replacement. Has anyone utilized the low use exemptions? My fear is that I just spent $45K on a motorhome that I can't register?? I'm confused here. If Cummins said in a letter that it didn't have an emissions sticker, what are you wanting a replacement for? I can't imagine even the state of California would require something that doesn't exist. Or maybe they would.....Another reason I have zero desire to ever visit CA again.

RE: Tv mount in basement compartment

My 5'er has the TV/audio plugs, etc right inside the pass through hatch on the curb side. I however have zero desire to sit outside and watch TV when I could be inside where it is warm when it is supposed to be warm and cool when it is supposed to be cool. So those outlets have never been used. Bah Humbug! I'm really not a grouch. And that was helpful to the op how? Just my opinion.

RE: How about those after market steps for TT?

I worked for a large US corporation for many years and every year they would commission a study to see if our products were right for the market we were serving. Every single year the top three things these surveys showed in the order of priority by the buyer were: Quality, Service, Price. Price was always in 3rd place. Quality obviously has to do with the product, but also it's "fit" for the purpose it is designed to perform. Service and Price are obvious. We all talk about price, but if the product isn't right for the task and not serviced by the manufacturer then price doesn't matter. There are always alternatives to any product, but do they perform the designed task? I am a bit biased as I have the Torklift Glow Step Revolution and recommend it highly. One big feature of this step is it can be operated in many different angles, etc. I was in a campground in north Florida back in the spring off of I75 that caters to travelers going to and from central Florida. They have a unique pull through system that works great, but some of the lanes have an incline to the next lane that is pretty close and steep to the lane you are parked on and the lanes are too narrow to move over as you park. If one of the alternative products to the Glow Step was used in this situation I have no clue how it could be deployed and used due to the angle. My Glow Step worked great. https://i.imgur.com/WiGUAGNl.jpg "border=0" https://i.imgur.com/m3zZPvb.pngClick For Full-Size Image.]Picture Here is a camper that was right behind me and please note he had to dig a little bit of dirt to even deploy his OEM 3 step. I can't image a 1 piece 4-5 step in this situation.

RE: Directv Questions!!

I don't think you'll lose anything. Perhaps Bill.Satellite will be along to help. I use a Slimline dish on a decent tripod and a SWM setup. Pretty easy. Agreed.

RE: How about those after market steps for TT?

There are a few different models to choose from and I wanted some feedback from those who already upgraded. Any brands or styles to avoid or recommendations on best to buy would be much appreciated. Lots of positive reviews for the Torklift Glowstep. A friend of mine had one and was really happy with it ... here's his detailed report. That looks like a good product (thanks for the link, SG!) but one of my pet peeves is having to hunt a product's price on its web page. I usually just assume they know that the price is so hi that it will scare off customers and so I just forget about the product. Totally kills any interest I have. eta: hey mods, whats up? Even tho I am logged in, I had to do a proof test that I am not a robot before i could post. I have Glow steps. They are great and work as advertised. As to the price, you may find a cheaper set of aftermarket steps but you will not find a better set of Aftermarket steps. As always you get what you pay for. Glowstep here also and couldn't be happier. I have had mine for almost 3 years.

RE: How much water to ad to black tank when starting out.?

In my 17 years with this trailer I have never even considered adding water. My bathroom sink does empty into black however. I do use an internal on board sprinkler type sprayer when I dump where available. Maybe that helps? I am now 9 years+ full time and I NEVER add water after a dump. I do boondock a couple of weeks a year and really want full black tank capacity when I start. If you are going to be using it why start out with extra water in the tank?

RE: Auxillary Fuel Tank ?

Titan Fuel tanks... I have a 51 gallon that is sitting in the same spot that the original tank was sitting in under the truck The same here with my 52 gallon Titan. It has been in service for almost 13 years now.
