RE: Towing a Geo Pro 19bh

I used to tow our 20' shadow cruiser with a our GC mind you the vehicle was a diesel so it had plenty of power. I neve had any issues and I used a Reese dual cam sway control hitch, they are a bit more money than your regular hitches with the bars but it worked great in windy conditions.

RE: need a trailer that is low to the ground

Might have to go with an R pod or something along those lines.

RE: Are Airstreams low maintenance?

We have a 1993 Airstream to me they are easy to take care of compared to the white box trailers we owned prior. Our last trailer was a 2011 cruiser rv product, I washed /waxed it annually but a leak had sprung and rotted the floor, and started to delaminate. So I’m done with junk and I’m happy with my quality build airstream.

RE: New to Travel Trailers. What to look for?

I would buy a used trailer, those trailers depreciate a lot as soon as it leaves the sales lot, quite often the former owner added a lot of add ons, that already installed and payed for..scoure Craigslist and find your first rev.

RE: questions about antennas

No antenna for us, I cut the old wineguard off the roof, when we go camping we leave the TV at home, we dont have a tv in the trailer either.

RE: Anyone have any knowledge about Shadow Cruisers?

We had a a Shadow cruiser 195wbs for 8 years , it was a 2010 and sold it this spring. We loved this little trailer and served us well. It is the little brother of the Funfinder. But due to a leak where the front cap and roof meet we decided to sell. The trailer is all aluminum construction and pretty light. We were sad to see her go, other than it sprung a leak we had no other issues.

RE: Fleetwood Mallard early 2000's (pics added)

We bought a brand new mallard way back in 2004, it was I think a 180ck for $14000 Ofcourse these very entry level trailers but it worked for us, Just last month my nephew bought a 2004 prowlerwhich is a 26' very clean unit for $6000 cnd. The prowlers were a bit fancier than the mallard when Fleetwood was still alive.

RE: Tires for Shadow Cruiser 260BHS

When we had got our Shadow cruiser they came with bias ply tires, and they were horrible, the trailer would just sway side to side, I put some Carlyle radials on an the trailer towed like a dream. and we put many miles on the unit, when I sold the trailer the tires still had atleast 50% tread left.

RE: TTs with White Cabinets?

Our shadow cruiser had white cabinets, and we actually liked it , made it nice a bright in the trailer without turning on the lights during a sunny day. Our new to us airstream has oak cuboards , but they will be white soon.

Any airstream owners ?

Can't believe it but we bought our selfs an 1993 sovereign 21 airstream, the unit is only a block away from me so we walk by it on a daily basis. I approached the owner and asked if he would want to sell, his response sure! The trailer has been parked for about 6 years or so bit the inside looks nice as far as I could tell the floors are not rotten, he did tell me that the hot water heater is a bit temperamental, we paid a pretty good price for it so we can remodel this baby. It will be a step up from the boler that we have.

RE: Buying another Vintage Camper

We have 2 vintage trailers, one is a 1971 boler which I rebuild from the ground up, with new frame, axel, paint etc. the body is all fiberglass. The other trailer I'm working on is a 1977 Trillium, it just needed a good clean up, windows resealed and interior paint. also this is a fiberglass unit. The crazy thing is these silly little campers go for like $8000 if not more when they are all fixed up. These trailers are about a 1000 lbs so they can be towed with any vehicle. https://www.kijiji.ca/v-travel-trailer-camper/edmonton/13-boler/1418292562?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true https://www.kijiji.ca/v-travel-trailer-camper/calgary/vintage-remodelled-lightweight-trillium-trailer-with-solar/1417905521?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true

RE: Should I buy a hybrid RV/boat or just tow a boat

The only hybrid That I can think of is the Macgregor 26M power sailor, you can camp with it in campgrounds, sail and pull water skiers behind it. 3 toys in one. http://www.macgregor26.com/BROCHURES%20FOR%20ALL%20BOATS/MACGREGOR%2026X/26X.html
