RE: Fleetwood Mallard early 2000's (pics added)

We bought a brand new mallard way back in 2004, it was I think a 180ck for $14000 Ofcourse these very entry level trailers but it worked for us, Just last month my nephew bought a 2004 prowlerwhich is a 26' very clean unit for $6000 cnd. The prowlers were a bit fancier than the mallard when Fleetwood was still alive.

RE: Tires for Shadow Cruiser 260BHS

When we had got our Shadow cruiser they came with bias ply tires, and they were horrible, the trailer would just sway side to side, I put some Carlyle radials on an the trailer towed like a dream. and we put many miles on the unit, when I sold the trailer the tires still had atleast 50% tread left.

RE: TTs with White Cabinets?

Our shadow cruiser had white cabinets, and we actually liked it , made it nice a bright in the trailer without turning on the lights during a sunny day. Our new to us airstream has oak cuboards , but they will be white soon.

Any airstream owners ?

Can't believe it but we bought our selfs an 1993 sovereign 21 airstream, the unit is only a block away from me so we walk by it on a daily basis. I approached the owner and asked if he would want to sell, his response sure! The trailer has been parked for about 6 years or so bit the inside looks nice as far as I could tell the floors are not rotten, he did tell me that the hot water heater is a bit temperamental, we paid a pretty good price for it so we can remodel this baby. It will be a step up from the boler that we have.

RE: Buying another Vintage Camper

We have 2 vintage trailers, one is a 1971 boler which I rebuild from the ground up, with new frame, axel, paint etc. the body is all fiberglass. The other trailer I'm working on is a 1977 Trillium, it just needed a good clean up, windows resealed and interior paint. also this is a fiberglass unit. The crazy thing is these silly little campers go for like $8000 if not more when they are all fixed up. These trailers are about a 1000 lbs so they can be towed with any vehicle. https://www.kijiji.ca/v-travel-trailer-camper/edmonton/13-boler/1418292562?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true https://www.kijiji.ca/v-travel-trailer-camper/calgary/vintage-remodelled-lightweight-trillium-trailer-with-solar/1417905521?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true

RE: Should I buy a hybrid RV/boat or just tow a boat

The only hybrid That I can think of is the Macgregor 26M power sailor, you can camp with it in campgrounds, sail and pull water skiers behind it. 3 toys in one. http://www.macgregor26.com/BROCHURES%20FOR%20ALL%20BOATS/MACGREGOR%2026X/26X.html

Fiberglass travel trailers.

I am starting to fall in love more and more with fiberglass trailers. We have an nice old rebuild 1971 13' boler trailer and we actually love that little guy. We took to Winnipeg this past August to the 50 year anniversary of the boler where over 400 of these little fiberglass trailers all came together. They also had nice new bigger fiberglass trailers on display which were great and well build and they will last for ever. Our favourite one was the escape trailer. http://escapetrailer.com/ Then there was the oliver trailer: https://olivertraveltrailers.com/ then there was the small armadillo based on the scamp/boler idea; https://www.armadillotrailers.net/ Then the Happier Camper ; https://happiercamper.com/ Then there was the bigfoot; http://www.bigfootrv.com/m/bigfoot_rv_travel_trailers_2500_series.html And scamp: https://www.scamptrailers.com/ Outback trillium trailers; http://trilliumtrailers.com/ And I'm sure there are many more.

RE: How many own 2 Travel Trailers?

At the moment we have 3 campers a 1977 13' Trillium (which is being refurbished) a 1971 boler (which I refurbished last winter) and a 2010 21 shadow cruiser which needs to be taken to the dump as it is garbage. I love the fiberglass trailers as they last forever.

RE: how long do you keep

I think for us Canadians, people here might hang on to the RV longer now as the US Government is putting on some hefty tariffs on RV's.

RE: What do you love about your TT?

What I like about our 21' is, queen walk around bed rear bath room and big fridge White cabinets, so it makes it look nice and bright in side. and it is paid for. What I dont like she sprung a leak so the front cap started to delaminate and the sides. To get this all fixed it will run into the thousands so not worth fixing it. I did peel back the front cap and let it dry out and resealed it so now she is dry. So she is going to be sold or taken to the auction and we will continue camping with our 1971 Boler or 1977 Trillium trailer.
