RE: 400 mile electric RV

Electricity versus petroleum includes more than motor vehicles. There are so few examples of all electric homes outside California and perhaps Texas and Florida that obtaining sample data is frustrating. Do *any* of you know what it takes to HEAT a 2,000 sq foot home when the Delta T is one hundred degrees? People scream in agony when they receive a bill for cooling a home with 30 degrees Delta T. Drop it to 60T or 40T If you built properly insulated house, instead of your silly stick houses, you could heat and cool it for peanuts. https://tridipanel.com/ Btw these Structural Insulated panels are strong enough to withstand huricane force winds without any damage. RE: 400 mile electric RV

If you do the back of napkin calculation replacing gasoline use per day in the USA with electric vehicles generating capacity will have to almost double. That doesn’t include diesel fuel for trucks, machines, and railways. The power grid now is over 50% fossil fueled so that will need to be fixed as well. Should be doable easy enough. I don't know. BC Hydro started working on this back in 2015 and have different calculations than yours. We are an EV only household. Typically 16000 km per year. Our power bill is more affected by air conditioning use than EV use. Our typical commute use is under 8 KW per day which is probably typical for many, at least around here. We are also a non solar house. Those with solar around us pretty much generate all the power they need themselves on an annual basis including charging their cars, heating their homes etc. Lots of variables. No simple answers but rather an aggregate of many. Here is a pub BC hydro put out back in 2016. There is other interesting info on their website. Tons of new EV fast chargers in this province from about half a dozen principal players like BC Hydro, Tesla, Petro Canada, Shell, Electrify Canada, FLO etc etc. The grid will adapt and change as needed. Its a thirty year transition. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49831525958_ba59f92eaf_c.jpg EV oponents dont realize or cant comprehend how eficient electric cars, motors are. And how litle power it needs to recharge. Low cost of driving is another plus. Evs are here to stay and increase in numbers no doubt. Electric Humvee conversion https://youtu.be/hp1uI4D7NRQ

Which evil is more acceptable? Oil spills or forest fires attributed to electrical powerlines? Fyi 80% of forest fires are started by humans. The rest by lightning. Powerlines are nowhere near as dangerous.

Can someone explain why not refine the oil right there in Alberta instead of wasting money building pipelines and moving it elsewhere? There is already existing refinery if I remember corectly.

Uh-oh, It seems Tesla’s Musk is guilty of political ‘Wrong-think’ so Tesla’s will miss out on a new $4500 taxpayer subsidy… https://www.autoweek.com/news/green-cars/a37807088/elon-musk-says-biden-white-house-controlled-by-unions/ 3 tons Tesla is in such huge demand that even w record numbers of cars built this Q it still has many customers waiting. If big 3 cant see where the future is,they wont have any.

China announced they are building three thousand new coal generating plants and will begin to reduce the total number starting in 2030. The newspaper in Wu VICTORY RED FLAG is openly sold in Mexico and is an official Chinese CCP organ. I know the person who read it to me verbatim. Do you know China is facing a critical power shortage in Manchuria? It is so serious the Chinese government is trying to divert attention from it and turn the focus on Taiwan. Hundreds of thousands of workers are idled and some large cities are experiencing blackouts. The native lignite coal is of such low BTU that boilers are operating at 30% capacity. There are no large rivers to feed a nuclear plant. Did you know that Taiwan is republic of China? Always was always will be,just like HK .Google it. US military posturing and CIA intereference wont change anything. Rest of the world is watching including Chinas friend Russia. Whatever problems China has Im sure theyll fix it. Worry about your own financialy broke country.

... Understand that almost any modern new ICE automobile is very nearly an actual zero pollution vehicle with only some occasional minor exceptions (like transiting up-hill on-ramps), and there’s no solid evidence whatsoever that BEV’s achieve a lower net footprint…Thus (regarding a multitude of current issues) we must acknowledge our captivity in this now ‘Post-Truth’ era…JMHO 3 tons No offence but thats the most idiotic load of nonsense ever. Lock yourself in garage w ICE engine runnin, Ill do the same w EV,will see whos more poluting.

https://i.insider.com/586eaa51f10a9a6d008b6e5a?width=500&format=jpeg&auto=webp height=500 width=500 Green As Shanghai Coal? I was in Beijing for a few days in 2016. I can attest that the photograph above is NOT an exaggeration. Times are a changing Chinas war on polution https://youtu.be/iSfNvMR-Yww Coal plants are being shut down, solar wind and hydro is in see CGTN news. Well since much of China might still be considered third world, the transition to an intermittent wind-solar power supply should make for an easier societal adaptation than what’s sure to be the American version - Most cloistered American’s really have no mental reference point as to authentic third world hardships or what ‘going green’ will make manifest, or how it’ll likely transform their kids future - but on the other hand it’s always ‘good intentions’ and popular consensus (a Pavlovian response) that drive these lofty policy matters (whether conflicts, climate, the grid, ad nauseam…) so why bother with independent evaluations when we have virtuous Representatives ($$) capable of steamrolling whatever policy on demand?? 3 tons I always wondered how come comunist China is so sucesful when India next door with same population and primitive third world conditions, (see Bald and Bankrupt chanel for example) and democratic system is total poophole in comparison. It all depends on the leadership, chinese are elected on meritocracy, serving the comunity,I guess thats why its called comunism. Short version How china leaders are chosen https://youtu.be/TgpQxVCekgw

RE: Lithium cost keep dropping!

Love the advertising: "Local US Warehouse" that builds my confidence. "No poisonous lead/harmful sulfuric acid" Let's see, lead acid batteries are extremely easy to recycle, whereas lithium iron phosphate is the opposite. There is no free lunch. Enjoy, Perry Pls stop the fake news. Lithium can be recycled just as well maybe even easier. No acid in them! Also Lithium batts will OUTLAST lead acid many times over. And have many advantages namely less weight and can be discharged completely without degradation.

Just to be fair England is experiencing the highest inflation rate in the last 10 years. Canada inflation rate is rampant. Neither country has had an election in the last few years. . Where do you get such skewed info from? In 2020, the average inflation rate in Canada was approximately 0.72 percent compared to the previous years./quote Google Btw Canada Liberal gov sent me 100$ out of the blue just before election, not sure why, probably a bribe LOL

RE: 400 mile electric RV

The problem is essential two fold: a) As with the ‘current health malady’ that’s continually being sliced and diced on the Hill and in the news, we’ll likely never learn the truth about ‘green EV’s’ and their claimed net carbon reduction assumptions, or whether or not a ‘real carbon crisis’ even exist (e.g. now deemed, socially tabooed ‘wrong-think’)… b) The uber politicalization of ‘the truth’ (the adulteration of empirical science via outcome based scientism), because ‘common folks’ (well intentioned, but distracted-unengaged taxpayers) lack the need to be apprised of any authentic science. Kinda brings to mind that famous old axiom, “The truth will set you free”, but when it comes to EV’s and so-called ‘Green energy’ (et al), who are WE to demand objective science?? 3 tons Fwiw I used to work up north Alberta where it used to get minus 30 or colder every winter in the past. Last time I was there it got above freezing around xmas time. Not complaing tho, dont care for deep freeze at all. All of Arctic is getting much warmer from what people living there say. Also Problem is with all those extreme temperatures comes more severe weather and floods as we have seen lately all over. Heres an idea ,build sponge cities https://youtu.be/jursRm7mnQk Anyhow Im geting EV mainly bc its cheaper to drive and dont need as much maintanance as ICE. Btw Tesla bateries will last milion miles maybe more. By the time it needs replacement they will be cheaper and longer lasting too. And batts can be recycled, reused.win win

RE: 400 mile electric RV

The USA went from a top petroleum exporting country to importing crude in one year. Refinery output and demand remain stable. But prices are absurd which makes fracking attractive... And study after study claims the continental USA has enough easily recovered natural gas to supply twenty-centuries worth, even counting growth. I simply do not understand the controversy of coal or fuel-oil fired power generation. We have a 1.8 GIGAwatt oil fired combination generating and seawater distilling plant close by. But natural gas is not available. The electric car industry needs consumer comprehensible fact comparisons like how many hours of operation will a vehicle battery supply in 30F weather at night in stop and go rush hour, as well as daylight open flat highway operation? Upgrading the nation's electrical capacity is a trillion dollar venture. I've a feeling that the last thing the government wishes is to let the public know how these upgrades are going to be funded. It is common for a 4 bdrm all electric house to consume 4,000 kWh monthly. Then add 2 cars. Compliance will be achieved by making traditional energy sources absurdly expensive. Tesla in Canadian winter - 34° C Enjoy https://youtu.be/lL9zveDz8H0 Btw we get electric mostly from hydro solar and wind
