RE: Escaping heat next summer?

Have you given any thought to the UP? Beautiful area. We are heading back to western UP in a day or two for a couple of weeks. Colors should be great, a bit nippy, but nice.

RE: Looking for a good RV

We bought it primary for the two of us for our later years without consideration for guests. Good post Ron. As we tell family our 2351D can seat 6, feed 4, but sleep 2!

RE: Are the campgrounds full in your area?

We are state park/COE people and wanted to change things up this year and have our Christmas on the coast (Florida). Not a single spot to be had that time of the year. We were in western Pennsylvania in June and it was virtually the same way. Planned a trip to the UP area and had to schedule it according to when we could get a site. It's a mess!!!

RE: Truma Combi water/heaters

Quite late to join this conversation, but I need some help. When we bought our unit the salesman knew nothing about the Truma Combi unit. Had the installed show us the basics. I have a bunch of questions, so please bear with me. A previous post said that on the ECO setting with both gas & electric selected the unit uses electric. Is that true of other settings? Do you turn the unit off before you unplug from shore power and get on the road? What is the benefit of using gas & electric. Why not just run on the campgrounds power? Thanks a bunch.

RE: Upgrading to a better phone

RobWNY, that's exactly what I'm asking. I don't know the difference between a Samsung S series and the A series. All I want is a reliable phone with decent battery life, camera and storage. Oh yeah, and ease of use. What is the difference between the A series and the S series? Other than price?

Upgrading to a better phone

I currently have a Samsung s6 active and am thinking about upgrading to a better phone. Like the Android OS and Samsung seems quality. Don't need the latest and greatest. Can't afford it for one reason. Looking to buy a pre-owned/reconditioned one. Don't want to spend more than a couple hundred at the TOPS! Insight to me: my phone plan is 100 minutes, 500mg data & 100 texts at a whopping $5.00 a month. So you can see I don't need nor want all the gizmos, add-ons or a ton of memory. Take some photos. Mainly talk a little, text more than I'd like, always adding time, and rarely check email. Looking for something good & reasonable. thanks

RE: Tire pressure gauges

Turns out the Viair Compressor I ordered includes a dial type gauge. For what this unit costs, it better be accurate.

RE: Oklahoma Northeast

Debbie, Help me out here. According to your post you plan to hit Rockie Point Ft. Gibson Lake. Then off to Natural Falls Sp., Twin Bridges COE, Hawthorne COE. Being the curious one and thinking of possibly an Oklahoma trip, I had to look them up on google maps. Seemed to find them all but Twin Bridges COE. Is it listed as Twin Bridges Park, Campground, Recreation Area of what. I couldn't even find it on recreation.gov. Got me really curious now. Sounds like an intriguing trip. Did you make reservations or just winging it? thanks

RE: Bad Water Smell

I had a similar thing and traced it down to the hot water tank. Drained it,, pulled the anode and bought one of these. And was shocked at the **** that came out. Threw in some vinegar and let sit, then drained and all was well.

RE: Christmas where???

stickdog, where/what is ACE in Texas? Is that an acronym for something I should know? And as far as the keys go. A bit further than we'd like, but that's fine as all the state parks there about are basically booked for the month. Now looking at the Jacksonville area (Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park) or there abouts.

Christmas where???

Well the DW has gone & done it again. The other day she said she'd like to go out of town over Christmas versus spending time with the families. We normally spend a day with her sister & family (an hour and a half away) (and an extremely loooong day) and then next day with my brother and his (half hour). I couldn't agree more! However from St. Louis to Florida, even the panhandle is a lot longer than 1-1/2 hours. Beside almost all state parks are full at that time. We prefer state, COE, national & even some municipal parks over private parks, but they would work for night over. Any ideas? Texas, Louisana or Missisippi are not out of the question and ocean side is not required, just warm with interesting things to do & see. Probably be gone 2-3 weeks. Or until the season is over. thanks

RE: Floored

We made our own. Well cut them out. Got some garage flooring like this. Colors, patterns & price are all over the place. Get a roll of masking tape, some newspaper & scissors. Make a pattern as good as you can or until you're happy, and tape it all together as you go. Pull the paper out and lay it over the flooring and cut away. I used heavy duty scissors and a box knife, with a new blade. Used this method on the three Ford E-series we've had.

RE: Tire pressure gauges

Dutch_12078, finally bought a #00 Philips screwdriver and took the sensors apart. Piece of cake. Don't know why I hadn't done that some time ago. Thanks again for the heads up. Only regret is that in order to get the #00 I had to buy an entire set. Oh well. Spent a few bucks, but won't have a couple hundred device sitting in the closet any more. Maybe now I can use them with a little more confidence of getting then on properly without loosing too much air. Thanks again!

RE: Camping with no reservations

Also if you don't have cell service, you can't make a reservation. We ended up in a WM this summer after calling a cg to make a reservation and leaving a VM. OK> You got me. Maybe I'm slower today than normal, but lyou ended up in a WM? (Waste Management)? Please enlighten me.

RE: Tire pressure gauges

If you have TST cap sensors like I do, I took the rotating security caps off as soon as I got the system, making the sensors smaller and lighter with no tool needed to install or remove them. They're also less noticeable Dutch, How did you remove the rotating caps? I have the TST TM-507 and they drove me nuts trying to get the thing back on with that goofy wrench without loosing all the air I just put it. I was even thinking of super gluing the caps so they would not rotate. But wasn't real keen on that idea.
