Tire pressure gauges

Have the typical stick type gauge, which I don't trust. So I bought one with a dial and needle. Got home to check it out and Great it works real nice. 64 lbs. Got out the old stick type and it reads 52 lbs. How do I know which is correct? But a third one and take the average?

RE: Looking for a NW Iowa park

Your header says NW Iows and the copy reads SE. Try this site. It sure helps us.

RE: Nice COE campgrounds

COE parks are our favorites, especially with the geezer pass. As a rule they are the cleanest, best kept up and generally neatest parks we've stayed at in our 49 years of camping. Always first on our list when planning.

RE: refrigerator door prop

I would be opposed to leave the doors wide open as I read on another forum that someone did that for 3 months over the winter and the doors sagged and would not close tightly. Therefore I don't want even want to attempt it. Don't know the type of RV, fridge model or anything, just that it scared me as not to try this. Might try the newspaper or charcoal ideas if my newest brainstorm turns out to be a brain fart. Thanks for all the input.

refrigerator door prop

Our new RV is great, but one draw back the fridge/freezer door has no catch to hold the door slightly ajar during storage. Any ideas on what to use. Can't use the magnet type, all plastic. Our storage parking spot is on a slight cant and the door swings open is not secured. Tried to contact Norcold, but no reply, to see if they could suggest something. It will be a while before we put it in storage, but don't want to wait till the last minute. Thoughts, remedies, ideas, links, any help is appreciated. thanks

RE: Back to the '70s!!!!

Missouri State Parks have no entrance fees and the camping rate is the same for residents or non. Missouri has some of the best parks, in my opinion, in the country. And the whole thing is funded by a 1/8 of 1% sales tax. All headed by the Department of Conservation, which does an exceptional job. It is quite a shock to go to, say, Michigan and pay an entrance fee plus a $5.00 non-resident up charge. An Michigan isn't the only one.

RE: Apostle Island area

We will have a 26' coach and from Pattison the next stop is Copper Falls for a couple of days. Then onto the UP with some time at Little Girls Point County park. Thanks for the info.

Apostle Island area

Plan to head to Pattison SP in Wisconsin in mid Sept and always wanted to see Apostle Island. Although we probably won't go to the island(s) them selves, still want to see the area. Buy some good smoked fish and see the sights before heading on to the UP. Any pros or cons for a 26' coach? What's worth seeing and what's not. thanks

RE: camping in heber springs arakansas

Nice area. We stayed at the Dam Site(Greers Ferry). Enjoyed the town and the whole area. Pleasant, quiet park, but that was 10 years ago.

RE: Cobb grill

Had our first cook on our Cobb. One half chicken. Didn't play mr. know it all and followed their instructions as far a number of charcoal briquettes, etc. Turned out fantastic. Even did potatoes in the moat. Can't say enough good things about this slow cooker. It is a bit of a pain to clean, especially when you burn food on to it. https://i.imgur.com/98rrfppl.jpg

RE: Feeling the urge

I'm not sure about your route nor your camping preferences, we prefer State or COE parks, but you have to check into the week ends. DW & I just finished panning our trip to PA & MD and the masses forced us to use KOA's on the week ends both to & from. Nice sites for a night, I guess, but fr too tight and commercial for our liking. Besides at almost $60 a night, with taxes and all as compared to a COE park at $24 for 3 nights, with the geezer card. And a lot more room. Have a safe and happy trip!

Portable Jump Starter

Do you carry a Portable Jump Starter in your RV? If so which one do you use? Pro & cons? Suggestions, cautions and other insights please. I'm looking for something small effective and easy to use/charge. Please keep is simple as I am totally dumb on this subject. Oh, yeah, Ford 450 v10. thanks

RE: Cobb grill

My main objective is to use it as a smoker and to cook roasts, etc. I have grates for charbroiling steaks, etc. I wan a slow cooker that I can control the heat & smoke for an extended period of time. Thanks for all the input.

RE: How many miles a day can we go?

As an older gentleman once told me, Go by the two's. Don't drive over 200 miles a day, slow down & smell the roses. Don't drive two days in a row. And always, always arrive at a campsite by 2:00 o'clock, that's cocktail time. Since we've retired, we pretty much like to follow those words of wisdom, with the only exception of possibly driving two days in a row. But the 2:00 o'clock rule is the law!

RE: New Mexico 'Quarantine" Requirements

This is very concerning to us as we are thinking about leaving for a trip to get away from it all in a couple of weeks. Although we plan to stay quite a bit east of there, we still have this fear of being quarantined for 14 days crossing a state or two. Where would be the best place to find this info, as things seem to change daily. Any special site? thanks

Cobb grill

Any of you camp cooks have, had or used a Cobb grill. Just purchased my first and am eager to try it. Unfortunately am house bound for a while, but definitely eager to try it. Any hints?

RE: Catching Cleaning Cooking Trout, A Refresher Course!

Gut the fish and leave the head on. Pack the inside cavity with salsa and wrap in foil. No butter. Toss onto grill or in coals for a few minutes each side. Remove the fish gently open the foil and grab by the head as you open the foil. The skin will stick to the foil. Grab the head and gently shake and the head and entire skeleton will come out, leaving just meat and salsa. Simple, quick, easy and great tasting.

It is suppose to no longer read "Team Bob". The update does not appear. That is the problem.
