RE: Tire recommendations for pick up truck for towing

I have been running Michelin Defenders for years. I won't have anything else; I've tried them all. A little more expensive but after trying the others, I always came back to Michelins.

RE: Recipes

Here’s one; Chicken Chili 1 onion (chopped) 3 gloves garlic (minced) 1 can kidney beans 1 can pinto beans 1 can chili beans 1 can roasted diced tomatoes 1 can rotelo (chopped tomato and pepper) 1 beer (minus 1/3 to drink for yourself as you cook ;) 1 bell pepper (chopped) 1 rotesserie chicken or 4 cooked breasts (chopped or shredded) 1 packet taco seasoning 1 packet ranch dressing 1 teaspoon chili powder Sauté onions and garlic in a bit of olive oil until onion is clear. Dump in all the above ingredients without draining the cans prior. That's it. Heat and I serve with avocado, green onions, cheese, sour cream and over tortilla chips. It's better on day 2. I doubled the recipe (minus the chicken) for groups.

RE: We attempted to use the service today

I would think offering a refund for this years service would be in order. Basically paying for the service is like having insurance. You pay for it whether you use it or not. But you pay for just in case you need it. He needed it and the service was not provided. Give him his money back. They more commonly offer an additional year OF NO service at no cost...

RE: Help purchasing OR 308bhs and found this on roof

"water intrusion"= damage. I'd pass and find something else.

RE: Anyone use a solar TPMS?

I just bought this one and can't get it to keep with three of the four 5th wheel trailer tires. Really disappointed because it got good reviews and a good review on youtube. If you get one you may try to get one that includes a booster. TPMS from Amazon

RE: trailer brake issue

Check your ground first then move to other wires. Something may have hit some wires near the wheels or loosened one.

RE: Dog fence when sitting outside camper with dog

The best investment is getting a professional dog trainer to teach you how to work with your dog. If you spend the time with your dog it’ll pay dividends for the rest of the dog’s life. My dogs will stay by our side as long as I want and can walk next to us without a leash (but I always have a leash on per the rules). It’s so nice to have these dogs behave better than our kids ever did.

RE: E or F rated tires

My suggestion is G rated tires. Less chance of a blowout and higher load rating.

RE: RV towing on 5 through San Francisco

Double check GPS route; Google Maps took me off the freeway and through downtown at 5 o’clock traffic! Then up a “no commercial truck” route while pulling a 35’ 5th wheel trailer! Holy moly was that interesting.

I did it and it was a half day with good tools. Pretty easy and a good time to check and adjust wheel bearings and brakes and rotate tires. You’ll be surprised how quiet the suspension is when pulling into a campground too.

RE: Pushing a TT into position from the rear bumper...?

Dealers use forklifts all the time to move trailers

RE: Need new tires

I finally, after two blowouts, went to G rated tires on my 5th wheel and have been pleased! I highly recommend upgrading to the higher load range.

RE: Towing Travel Trailer without WDH from Dealer

If it starts to sway slowly apply the brake controller and it should bring it back in line and slow everything down.

RE: Load Range D tire confusion

Tire load size. Personally I would recommend moving up to a "E" rated tire if you have the room with your trailer. I prefer to have extra pay load with my tires even it is more than my trailer needs. I used to run "E" rated tires on my 5th wheel but switched to "G" rated. They felt more stable travling down the road and lasted longer. I replace my tires every 5 yrs. regardless how they look or how much tread is left. Having a blow out with your trailer can be dangerious and do some costly damage to your trailer from my own experience. Best advice you’ll get! Go up a load range. I also went up to a Grated tire for my 5th wheel trailer.

RE: Blocked Caller Question

I use Verizon's call filter app. $2.99 a month. In the call/text screening universe, it leaves much to be desired but nonetheless has cut down the garbage quite a bit. It really falls flat on number spoof telemarketers, but the app does allow you to block the number and give a reason why you're blocking it. Apparently Verizon builds a database of numbers linked to spoofs, spam, and other undesirable phone activity. That’s free now. No need to pay for Verizon customers.

RE: Tire Replacement Question

Instead of buying by name look at load ranges and go up a rating or two.

RE: 5th wheel tire review

Notice how many comments mention “load”. Upgrade to a higher load range tires and you’ll notice a big difference. I have G rated tires on my 5th wheel and have had great luck with them.

RE: Biting Insects

By far the best insect repellent is Ultrathon from Amazon. Until I found that my wife wanted to leave Texas

RE: Long distance purchase

If you think you’ll get better service because you bought there you might want to search this and other forums. 95% of RV’rs found they got crappy service no matter where they bought. And I’m speaking from experience. Better to get the best deal you can. I drove 2,000 miles to save several thousand dollars. A good mobile RV repair guy is worth it.
