RE: Poor IT Management

We apologize for the on going troubles you have been experiencing. Will you please send us a private message with your membership number so we can look into this issue further? Thank you Read my post, it has been "looked into" countless times. Seems when I hang up the phone, all effort to correct this problem ends.

RE: The challenges of owning a trailer.

The only thing that works on an RV is the owner.

Poor IT Management

The people at Good Sam/ Camping World etc cannot figure out how an email address I have been using for many years, magically changed names. I am now known as CLIFFORD CORDER. It's not likely that my email was hacked as no other sites that uses an email address has been affected. This issue has been brought to their attention countless times. So, either they are incompetent, or they just don't give a ****. I can deal with incompetency, the other will not get GS a renewal of my membership.

That generation of RV'ers are gone or no longer RV'ing.

RE: Online Military Discount

Your comment would justify those serving but not those that did a couple years and separated. I did my couple of years and separated, 1968-1970 and 13 months in Vietnam. Not everyone is a lifer.

RE: Pilot GoodSam RV Plus Card Issues

This seems to be an issue many things Good Sam. I logged into Camping World and suddenly my name is CLIFFORD CORDER. I contacted customer service and explained the problem and I was informed they have a new software program, and I was not alone, but would fix it promptly. That was two months ago.

RE: Where are all of the snowbirds?

I posted a gripe under Campingworld RV Sales. My post was eventually hijacked by two individuals who decided to have an argument not at all related to my post. People come to this forum looking for information, or to vent, but there is ALWAYS someone who has to be a jackass with their sarcasm. I come here infrequently now as a result.

RE: RVs over 10 years old are valueless

I have a 15 year old 5th wheel in perfect condition, but I am no longer allowed in RV parks - the same parks which allowed me in last year. They're all citing "the 10 year rule." Therefore, this 5th wheel serves no purpose anymore as I cannot travel with it. I am done RVing. Rant off. You state perfect condition, is it clean, and waxed and looks new? I honestly think most 10 year rules are to cull out junkers. I stay mostly in state parks and not an issue, I can see if it is a high park, but not a standard park. The "10 year rule" now includes anything 2012 and older.I have a 1998 Jayco Eagle 243RKS, and on a scale of 1-10 I would give it a strong 7+. I was not allowed to return to an RV park in Rockport TX that I have been wintering at since 2016 because of new ownership and their 10 year rule.

RE: Oronoco Camping World

A follow-up. As of this morning, the price is back at $10,599. I wonder if it has anything to do with market fluctuations, or, there is no longer any interest in the rig.

Oronoco Camping World

This location has a 5er I was interested in, so I inquired. I received a follow-up call the same evening. The Website listing had price of $10,599, a price I had been watching for a few weeks. C-W had it priced right in line with NADA values. The following morning, I received a call from the actual dealer, a pleasant saleslady. I confirmed the appointment to view the RV. I double checked the listing, now it is $5,000 higher, $15,599. I called the salesperson back, and asked what was going on, I got some BS story about market fluctuations. Needless to say, I told them to shove it where the sun doesn't shine. I wonder if this is a result of the Marcus Sales Training Academy.

RE: 5th wheel purchase advise - Solitude or Jayco

I've owned both Jayco and Grand Design 5th wheels. IMO, choose the model that best fits your needs/wants and look for fit and finish. Once you have made your decision, the next hurdle would be to determine if the dealer is capable of handling all the warranty issues you will have. A couple that I know, purchased new, a 2017 Jayco Pinnacle, beautiful rig, but the shop has enjoyed it more than they have. My last purchase was a 2019 Solitude S-Class. After a multitude of issues, I sold it and I no longer RV with towables. QC is lacking in most all Rv industries.

RE: Two months in Texas

I have never been to this park but I did a small search for parks in south Texas. Reel Chill RV Resort in Rockport had availability. I wasn't sure what type of RV you had or the length so I typed in Fifth Wheel and 42 feet in length. They had availability. from January 16 through March 30 Reel Chill RV ResortA month ago Reel Chill was reel empty

RE: RVs over 10 years old are valueless

I have been going to Majestic Oak Resort in Rockport Texas, for the winter, since I retired in 2016. I have a very nice 1999 Jayco Eagle 5W. My reservation was set for the 2021-22 winter season, deposit paid. Later, last spring I received a phone call informing me my rig would not be allowed as it was beyond their 10 year rule. They refunded my deposit. This RV park is under new ownership and management.

RE: Carrying a 500 lb motorcycle on the back of a Solitude 5er

Why waste your time on this forum and get a bunch of opinions? Call Grand Design. I know of a couple who lost both bicycles on a bike rack attached to the bumper on their Solitude. I do know the hitch is rated to 300#

RE: LAND BORDER DUE TO OPEN EARLY NOVEMBER

I'm not sure I want to go south just yet. As of yesterday: 84,154 new cases 1,480 new deaths 9,695,610 active cases. That is certainly YOUR choice. Me, I refuse to live in fear of a virus that kills less than 2% of those it infects.

RE: Spouse left behind after death at a Campsite, what to do?

I personally know a couple that if camping, were Rob to suddenly drop from a heart attack, Kelly would likely follow, from the very thought of not knowing what to do next. She rules the roost, but he handles all the details. Like others have said, it is wise to have a "just in case" plan.

RE: E or F rated tires

My suggestion is G rated tires. Less chance of a blowout and higher load rating.I agree. I had a 2006 Jayco Designer that came with Goodyear tires with a G rating.

RE: Grand Design Solitude

IMO, quality control is lacking at Grand Design. My last GD product was a 2019 Solitude S-Class. I had a number of issues due to quality control and dumped the trailer. Garbage tangled up in a slide mechanism, fried wiring to the refer, and the list goes on. These items were covered under warranty, but I fulltime.
