RE: Ford F-150 what do I need for towing?

As stated, look at the payload capacity of the particular truck being considered. Generally, the higher trim levels with all the options have the lowest payload. I tow a similarly sized tt with a 2018 F150 with the 3.5 eb andd max tow package and it pulls, and stops, great.

RE: Campspreading

We were at a NY state park campground over the 4th of July week. Our site was in an elevated section that overlooks the rest of the sites, and it was fun to watch the folks that came as a group with 3-4 adjoining sites setting up all sorts of camping equipment and games. One group had 4 picnic tables pushed together under a long white tent, the sort seen at parties, weddings, etc. What really amazed us though, was watching everyone pack up to leave. In every case, picnic tables were returned to their proper sites and all trash was picked up. One group even raked the 3 sites they had occupied. Very refreshing to see folks taking responsibility for the park conditions. The only thing we saw left behind was some firewood left by the fire pits for the next occupant. I wish here was a “like” button!

RE: Opinions on Keystone Hideout

Ive not heard anything particularly bad about Keystone trailers. I would say, though, if this is the particular one youre looking at, it is way overpriced at 27k. A quick search shows the same model under 20k.

RE: Any tips for installing a cover, without a roof ladder?

What Lynnmor said. My previous trailer had no ladder but was a walkable roof. Current trailer has a ladder, but it was an option. I used to use a step ladder to work aside the trailer to put on the cover.

Yup, a holes everywhere. I would have finished the discussion by telling him to have a nice day. Perhaps his head would have exploded.

RE: I have 1 week

Well, we just returned from our trip! After an epic week of volunteering at the camp in Bigfork MT, we started our personal road trip. Yellowstone was great! We based ourselves in Gardiner at the north entrance. We only stayed two full days, but really enjoyed it. We got to Old Faithful 10 minutes before it erupted. Talk about luck! We know we didn’t see all of YNP, but we saw a lot. My wife and I are early risers and took advantage of the quick breakfast at the hotels and brought picnic lunches we bought the night before. On to Devils Tower, where we drove to and toured the same day. Had a blast! Next stop Mt. Rushmore, which is the one stop I would have skipped (too touristy) and a stay in Custer. Thanks for the suggestion on Custer, it was a nice little town. We explored Custer State Park including Needles Highway, Spokane, and tried to see Wind Cave, but it was closed! We hit the Badlands and the Minuteman Missile site. After that, we explored Lead and Deadwood. Custer has some great fireworks for the 4th. They started a little early to try to beat the storm, which they did...barely! Throughout the entire two weeks we had fantastic weather. It rained every day but didn’t interfere with the days activities. It was cool every morning (long sleeve shirt to start the day) and was never blazingly hot. I wish we had more time, and some day we will, but for now work gets in the way!

RE: Gas tax increase in some states July 1st

We never learn. NJ had the lowest gas prices in the North-East, people from PA, NJ, DE used to cross the border to fill up their tanks. Great, more tax revenue for NJ. So what did our illustrious leaders do? they raised the gas tax by 23c. So people from PA, NJ, DE stopped filling their tanks in NJ. Result? Tax revenues are down. No sh*t. I'm not an economist but I could have figured that out. So what do we do ? we elect a governor who promises to raise taxes. Are we stupid or what? Oh and that 23c tax increase was supposed to be temporary and offset by a reduction in sales tax. So what do you think happened to the sales tax? Are we stupid or what? Fits, you’re absolutely right! Except, when they implemented the higher gas tax, they added a provision to have a minimum amount brought in by the tax. If the tax didn’t bring in the minimum, it gets raised. So, as we chase away the fuel purchasers from surrounding states the tax goes higher to make up for the loss. Then we elect the moron who promised to raise taxes!

RE: I hate dinettes

I was raised with the idea of eating while sitting at a table. I even find that restaurants provide the same accommodations. I am not sure how you eat without using a table. Do you balance your plate on your stomach? What about a glasses, silverware and soup or salad plates? Or do you just stand up and eat with your hands instead of silverware? . Not at all! Our 192RBS came with a fold up table which we quickly ditched for an easier to manage folding table from Wally world. We put it in front of the couch to eat when we est inside. We bought 2 folding chairs so we can play cards (facing each other) or 4 can use it to eat. Everything folds and stores quickly and easily and is more comfortable than any dinette I've seen.

RE: I hate dinettes

I agree! We loved our first tt, but the only seating it had was a dinette. We traded it in for a tt with no dinette. It has a very comfy sofa with a fold up table. We hardly ever eat inside anyway.

RE: Towing with 2017 Nissan Titan Platinum Reserve

Considering the abysmal starting payload I’d be very careful. Check the yellow sticker on the door jamb for the vehicle specific payload. Subtract about 740# for the tongue weight, a little under 100# for the WDH and see if you have enough payload left for you, your family, and anything you want to put in the truck.

RE: Towing with 2017 Nissan Titan Platinum Reserve

At a max payload (before options) of just over 1300#, you’ll probably run out of payload.

RE: TT brakes ? for mechanical types.....

Are you sure you need brakes? The shoes on trailers don’t have nearly the meat a vehicle does.
