RE: Camping tables-any favortes?

We bought a small 4’ table at Wally World for less than $30. Works great!

RE: Built-in microwave sounds sick

Sounds like the microwave going bad. Pull it out and plug it into your house to test it.

RE: 2019 F-150

The 3.3 is not an ecoboost engine. A quick search shows that a properly equipped 3.3 has a max tow of 5,000#. You may want to rethink the truck or the camper.

RE: Headlights blinking randomly

I had a car that did this and it turned out to be the headlight switch.

RE: Philly visit?

I would take two days and see as much as possible. It is a very interesting area. Use the Phlash to get around, the stops are each near sites to see. Don’t forget Eastern State Penitentiary.

RE: Ideas for a truck to pull 6500lb trailer?

Is the 6500# dry weight or gross weight? If that is gross, a 150/1500 would be more than enough truck. I have a 3.5 150 3.5 eb and it tows a 6000# tt like it isnt there. It is max tow, so it has the bigger gas tank, which is nice to have when towing. When we bought, we knew that the tt we bought would be the biggest we would get. Everyone has their own wants, and ours didn’t include a tt that is as big as a condo. Before buying the truck, I drove my neighbors one year old f250. While some people are “truck people” and love to drive the biggest truck they can find, I am not. Small, nimble cars are what I’m used to, and the 250 diesel was not for me. Since I’m not going to tow anything bigger than what I have, the f150 fits my bill for many years to come. Bottom line, keep your eye on the payload of the truck you’re looking at and you’ll be fine.

RE: Anyone here upgraded their headlights?

Noise, radio interference, flickering, poor light distribution, and blinding other drivers can all be associated with sticking LED bulbs into a housing designed for halogen lights. Don’t cheap out and you can alleviate some of these issues. Add on light bars are designed for off road use and are, most likely, not legal to use on the road (although that doesn’t stop a lot of people).

Toyota’s used to do that all by themselves!

RE: Purchasing Motor HOme from Campers Inn

When we purchased our tt, we called Campers Inn because they had the same model available. Turns out they were a couple of thousand dollars higher than the other dealer we were considering. AND the tt they had did not have the larger fridge and roof access ladder we wanted. They were hard sell, and came Down to the price of the other dealer offered, but without the options mentioned. I laughed when they tried to convince me to buy from them, at the same price, without the options. Bought at Stolzfus in Adamstown and couldn’t be happier.

RE: Thinking about a new Jeep tow vehicle...need your input...

Know nothing about towing a Jeep but have had one as a daily driver for 20 years. Not sure you can even buy one that is not a 4x4? Would not own anything else There are plenty of Jeep models that are front wheel drive.

RE: February Camping From Long Island?

Are you looking to get away from the cold? If not, Otter Lake in the Poconos is open year round.

RE: Hershey Park Suggestions

I agree with DrewE, check out Knoebels. Hershey is certainly very nice, but Knoebels has two campgrounds, one right at the park and Lake Glory just down the street. I prefer Knoebels as it is better for smaller kids and you can pay by the ride.

RE: 1977 Dodge Sportsman

As Grit dog says, it an a typical diy job. However, it doesn’t require anything intricate, so it might not be horrifically expensive. I’d ask around for pricing before the purchase. Of course, filling the tank with gas will double the value of a 1977 Dodge, and whatever you put into it will not be recouped.

RE: Not A Joke Top Off With Gasoline or Diesel

Everyone rushing out to fill tanks as the OP advises is more likely to impact pricing than the loss of production. Same thing happens in every adverse situation / natural disaster. Exactly!

RE: Safe to tow ? Mercedes GLS with a 4500 lb travel trailer

The max numbers you listed are just that....the Maximum payload and tow rating. That is, properly equipped with bare bones options. You have to look at the particular vehicle to see what those numbers will be. Seems like an awful lot of trailer for an SUV.
