RE: Planning summer 2022 trip to Alaska Fly/Rent

Lots of good advice so I'll only touch on one point. You had asked about length and if there'd be any limitations going longer. In general, no. Alaska is one of the easiest places you'll find to drive your rig at least from a size perspective. There is lots of room.

RE: Dry as a bone,…again

Lots of good suggestions on things to check and ways to reduce water usage. But, in the end, the fact is that 29 gallons is not a lot of water.

RE: Cant find a place to stay near Harrisburg, PA, help!

Gifford Pinchot state park. Has hookups. Rate is about 23. On lake near Wellsville. Has a real good senior citizen discount. Unfortunately I think one would find that every single FHU site at GP and every other PA state park is booked solid for every weekend the entire season. PA state parks have a very limited number of FHU sites, most have none at all. It was only in recent years they started converting some to FHU,and it takes them years to upgrade as they use the local maintenence staff to do the upgrades. I can confirm this is true. I was looking yesterday. You'll find a few one day Tuesday or Wednesday openings but very few.

RE: Delaware and Maryland camping help

I'll second Delaware Seashore State Park. Not many amenities but a great home base and you can walk (1/4 mile) to the beach. You may have trouble getting in anywhere at the beach though at this point. Possibly tues-Thursday but Friday-Monday's are long gone most places.

RE: Shower WOnt drain if Gray valve is shut

When they are putting in the tanks, they have to cut a hole in the top of the tanks for the plumbing line drain and vent to enter the tank. They should cut it out and remove it. But they are sometimes careless and drop it in the tank and then say “oh well”. Then it’s just luck of the draw if it ever causes an issue. But I’ve seen it before!

RE: Shower WOnt drain if Gray valve is shut

I was going to guess the cutout falling down as well.... because I have actually seen it! I know it sounds crazy but it happens!!! With a brand new unit, I’d get the dealer to handle it. With the cut out issue, it usually will still drain just slowly.,. The cutout does not block the drain completely just slows it down a lot

RE: Shower WOnt drain if Gray valve is shut

Am I understanding correctly that when you went on the roof, that the vent pipe was full of water? And...when you then opened up the grey tank drain.....how much water came out? I.e. Was it just a few gallons or did it seem like the grey tank was full? And... last question....is this a new issue or did it just start? Or is this the first time you used the rv?
