RE: In need of opinions, thank you

We have a 24ft. Forest River Forester Class C- LE-model 2251LE-with a Chevy 450 chassis and a 6.0 Chevy gas engine. Wanted to get the Chevy because we had read stories about the smaller footwell-passenger side- in the Fords. Also, a number of complaints of engine/exhaust heat coming up through the floorboard of the Ford chassis-mainly on the passenger side. Previously we had a 29 5T Arctic Fox 5th wheel-about 30ft.-towed by an F250 diesel. Love the C- my wife can/will drive it now. Easy to get around in-easy to park-it's totally self-contained-don't need a Toad-we just take the C wherever we need or want to go. Generally, we get 9-11 mpg

RE: Looking at class c questions on maintenance

We always take our Class C to our local MasterLube-for oil changes, lubes, etc. Their facility has a walk/work space underneath the vehicle. Our Class C is on a Chevy 4500 chassis with 6.0 gas engine-about 25 ft.

RE: Is the Good Sam Club worth it?

We think so-Good Sam lists member campgrounds all over U.S. and Canada, in their Directory or cell phone App. When we travel we always look at their App. to find Campground's with the amenities we want.

RE: Paint/fabric protection package

Put your $$'s into a good hand/paste exterior wax job. If you have slides-get the sides and top waxed as well

RE: Gen-set Troubles

We have an Onan 4000 gen. in our C-Chevy 450 chassis w/6.0 gas engine. Our chassis gas tank has to be 1/4 plus full for it to run. We had to replace the carb and fuel filter, air filter-thru Amazon-and runs great now.

RE: Possible return to RV life

Few years ago we purchased a used 2017 F.R. Forester 2251LE on a Chevy 450 chassis with 6.0 gas engine. The DLR had gone thru it and it was still under Factory warranty. It's 24ft and has rear slide for camper queen bed. We wanted a Chevy chassis instead of Ford or Mercedes. Also, stove oven as well as microwave, side windows in overhead berth, V8 gas engine, rear mounted spare tire and ladder. Had about 7000 miles on it-had been a leased vehicle-now has 18,000 miles on it. Haven't had any problems. Love being able to take it any where we want to go. Even at Ca. State Park system it's considered a regular size vehicle.

RE: Joined the ranks again today.......lol

Great to see you back-really nice looking RV. Few years ago we sold the A.F. 5'vr and got a smaller Class C. Easier to get around and now wife will drive.
