RE: Picked up 2014 Adventurer 80RB

It is a shame that Gama doesn't make a replacement remote for the happijac system, not sure why but you could try calling them and asking. I am very happy with their replacement remote for my atwood jacks.

RE: To slide or not to slide. That is the question.

I had a non-slide and went to a single slide for more room since I have growing kids with me. When they are out of the picture I will go back to a non-slide.
Just wanted to mention that there ARE slide units that are perfectly usable with the slide in.

RE: Water filtration when boondocking

I have 2x4's under it to help distribute the weight on the roof.

RE: Water filtration when boondocking

Off grid camping is pretty much all the camping I do.
I put a 35 gallon water tank on my roof for when I need more water than my tanks can hold.

RE: Slide out to non slide

Just throwing this out there, with a model like the Lance 1191 single slide the camper is fully usable with the slide in, most of the time I won't even put it out unless I am staying for a while.

RE: Sourcing filon & roof corner/gutter - please help

Take plenty of pictures/videos of rehab to backup what you have done. Also helps to find wires in the walls down the road and other stuff.
I would plan on upgrading the power converter, they have better ones now that won't cook your batteries while charging.
As to worth, its worth whatever you can get someone to pay for it with the upgrades. I would say $10-$12k range based on what I have seen TC's listed at these days.

RE: Major Problems with Bed of Truck - how to fix?

If you have the bed off I would recommend coating the frame to help with rust and take care of any other issues while the bed is off, much easier.

If money is no object the flatbeds from Sherptek are highly configurable: https://sherptek.com/truckbed

RE: Major Problems with Bed of Truck - how to fix?

Replacing the bed isn't hard at all, I replaced the bed on my dually when I first got it since the cross bars underneath had rotted away and the bed was doing like yours with weight on it. I bought my bed from someone with a car lift so removal and install took no time, the longest time was removing the rusted bolts. The "new" bed from Texas with 0 rust is holding up great so far.

RE: The only real SRW “One Ton” that isn’t really a 3/4 ton

I wish they would go back to the spare tire embedded into the side of the bed like that instead of underneath.

RE: Lifespan of water pump

I suppose that’s a waste of time to reuse an 18-year-old pump but I go out on the beach and I don’t wanna be stuck without any water .
This is one of the reasons why I put a 35 gallon water tank on my roof, that and it comes in handy to wash the sand off everything.

RE: Let's talk air bags...

I run mine with 15psi when empty, what helped me the most was getting the rancho 9000's and setting the rear to 5 when not loaded.

RE: I like it!

A rear Deck/Porch is awesome to have with a rear door down to the beach, it gives you a place to put stuff (firewood/grill) and to be able to stop the trafficking of sand into the camper, however this design can not be left down while traveling so it severely limits the good use of a rear deck for me.
Example of a useful rear deck:

RE: Host, Eagle Cap, Lance Suspension Requirements

You will want a rear sway bar for sure. Shocks would be nice as well. Air bags or something fancier are that much better. Go weigh the truck and subtract that from GVWR to get your payload. Well worth the time to do. Then sort through the TCs weights. I have an Eagle Cap 1160 on a 3500 with sway bar, shocks, and air bags. It has been to 48 states over the years. Great truck and camper.
And with the stock tires your can still air them down for fishing on the beach!
